That may have been one of the most unlucky sequences ever, but that was still one of the most hilarious games I’ve seen you play lol Edit: still nothing tops the jest win as doctor, that was both funny and lucky lol
Pirate is largely the most social role and relies the most on networking in order for you to pull it off.. Pirates can be liked by all factions, mostly liked by NK's too if you're doing it right. You're no one's highest priority target. Petty Vigi's (Wanting safe confirmation) will probably take a shot at you and Maf with tiny... ego's let's say.. are your only real dangers. Pirate is far more confirmable than Survivor, can win with anyone, can kill for anyone, can "super roleblock" (Though not always apparently).. Has a lot going for it. Cons: You prefer a long game to a short game. Town doesn't like wasting time, but are also usually fairly content so long as they are feeling safe. If you become ousted and targeted, no one will help you, unless you've made friends. Jailor's and Veteran's love town pirates if you coordinate and work with them. Doctors, PMs and Guardian Angels can coordinate with you to help you win (Can also sneakily help confirm a PM as doctor.. Have done that one before) the key is to communicate and keep on everyone's good list. Quick list of tricks you can do as pirate: - After you duel with someone, whisper them and tell them that you'll duel a target of their choosing next. (To this day, I've never had anyone refuse to pick a number, this also slightly tells you what faction the person you just pirated the day before is working for) - If you're in Psy vision, just claim pirate. Most won't lynch you, it nulls the evil vision, takes pressure off of other potential evils in the list. (does open you up to potential vigis and factions that don't trust you.. but 95% of the time, they have better targets) just be ready to make friends after you claim - Be Transparent about who you are next dueling, talk to others about who would be a good target for you to take on next, work with others so that they feel you're not unreasonable and gonna stab them in the back. - Can also just straight up say that you're gonna go for the "Lose every duel" Achievement.. and claim that you will choose Scimitar every time. ask people to never click side step.. Then make it a 50/50 instead.. Others won't know what you did. | Side Note: Every time I have went for this Achievement legitimately.. I have ended up winning. People DO NOT LISTEN to you spamming "Going Scimitar every time." Even if they do listen, many of them think you're trying to do the 50/50 trick and pick scimitar anyways - You can also attempt to tell someone "I'm gonna duel you tonight. Click this option so you don't die." Then click that option.. Dick move, but about 50% of the time they won't buy it anyways.. Whisper at the end of the day to make it so they can't really respond to talk it out (Not a fan of this method being honest) As far as Fake Claiming goes. Pirate is almost too easy to notice to maintain a fake claim for too long.. People will say that they are pirated when you pirate them, if you get a kill, it instantly confirms your existence. If anything town usually will question why you aren't stepping forward and will most usually suspect an evil pirate.. Which will honestly just get mafia or coven to try and kill you too for some reason. Exe, Psy, or Surv are.. honestly some of the few fake claims you could use, If invest checks you, though and you're not claiming pirate, they'll instantly think you're mafia Another thing.. A lot of Neutrals and even evils will feel a lot more confident in claiming to you as pirate. Jester's may come to you to see if you can lynch them. Executioners may let you get a free win on them after they get their win. Exe's might also like it if you help them with getting their target lynched.. or killing their target for them so they can get lynched as jester. SK's Like the added killing power and if you're being vocal about who you're going after, are almost forced to have to work with you (If you get a bloodied will after saying "I'm pirating 15" they know it's 15). Oddly, from my experiences though, Coven tend to be the faction to open up to me the most as pirate.. Maf will accept help and stuff, and help you back in return, but they don't like to mention that they're maf too directly TLDR: Pirate usually ends up having to claim to be pirate sooner or later. I don't recommend day 1 claiming it.. especially if people are being fairly vocal about their hatred of pirate (Probably lost a game decided by a pirate recently) but when town's numbers get lower, and evil majority starts to become more a thing.. No one will usually want to lynch you. Though the longer you go without claiming, the more likely you are to get a ballsy CC. Edit: Forgot to mention, ToS defaults your choice to Sidestep if you don't click which one to do. As Pirate it also defaults to Scimitar. If you suspect that a player is AFKing, just pick scimitar if you wanna beat them
But I like that pirate has this win condition - it doesn’t rely on other people, it’s just you and your bounty. You can do whatever you want!, because you’re not tied down by the requirement to survive and help a faction win.
Honestly in CAA, I love Pirate, Surv, Exe and Jest because you get to do whatever the heck you want, and have no guilty conscience because you were just 'playing your role' XD
at end of games they should add something so you're able to see who changed their names to what if they had multiple name changes tbh to punish those who do this
Neutral killing roles should have win conditions similar to pirates where they don't literally have to be the only one left alive. That's just not very feasible most of the time
best way to play pirate imo is to only ever choose 1 option through the whole game. so it becomes a true 1 in 3. with you having 3 choices and the other person having 3 choices, it makes it with 9 possible outcomes, so eliminating the other choices you choose from makes it a true 1 in 3, and as for what option to choose, the middle is statistically the most common option. so rapier should give you the highest rate of winning as pirate
I'm unsure about this honestly. I've always heard the same thing, but I'm not sure it's actually correct. Is this a common fallacy that people fall in to or is this legit? Perhaps it is, and it's sort of like the Monty Hall problem? But statistically, the odds of randomly picking 1 of 3 stays the same each pick.
@@TwoPercentSkimm in a true 1 in 3 it would be up to chance but there is a lot of both statistic and psychological evidence that lead to a greater chance. Essentially what is haplening is there are 2 parties partaking in a 3 option choice. While initially it might be thought of as a 1 in 3 shot, its a lot more complicated than that. Only choosing one choice the whole game takes a full variable out of the equation, so it makes the math simpler. Then the psychological aspect says that the center is the most "comfortable" position to choose with the rightmost choice being second as more people instinctually choose whatever side they are dominant with which for the most part is right handed individuals. So the center and right are the most commonly chosen options. As i havent ever played ToS, i havent been able to put this to the test, but it could certainly be worth investigating further. This is all mostly coming from a few college stats and psych courses i took in college. Eother way tho, love the vids! Been a big fan since like 2018! Hope things keep going great for you
That person has been doing it for a while now. if you send a report, judges can see who typed pregame and reassign the report to them. Idk how else you'd be able to.
Not a single win as Pirate, but getting confirmed as Exe was hilarious... especially with the confusion at the end ha ha...
It was honestly a lot of fun, even without the win

Lol yeah was a fun one!

You do have to survive though! Survive long enough to end into a win
this is how my last pirate game went, except that i'd won once and we had an escort to perma rb. I still managed to lose.
Lol yup pirate is very rng

@@TwoPercentSkimm nono i mean that they should add that sorry for confusion edited for less confusion
LOL when they said 'WAIT WHOS PIRATE' DSGNKDFK
I know I giggled too!
Pirates by DND alignments
Lawful evil - kills 2 then stops
Chaotic good - kills 2 then targets evils
Chaotic evil - keeps on dueling randomly
Good advice!
I don't even know how I would make Pirate better without being too easy to win with, tbh
i would change it to have 2 win cons. 1 plunder and survive or 2 plunders
Neutral killing roles should have win conditions similar to pirates where they don't literally have to be the only one left alive. That's just not very feasible most of the time
And thus
King making was born.
@@martyyt2099 ToS 2 does exactly this, all roles that win before the game end just get kicked out after they win
I never claim surv until entirely necessary but even then I fake a town invest will
8.78% chance for that to happen btw
How did you calculate that? Just curious

Another lovely timing.
Not getting a single pirate win in 6 tries is around 8-9% chance and i have the same luck. So i would use "number generator".
Aww man i was hoping you'd win this
Pirate wins by making the game as long as possible while staying alive yourself
and there's nothing you can really do about the luck, so don't think about it
