Let's look how expensive it really is. Furina is a must have for every account I don't think this is contested anymore, the doubt of her has just gone silent. Faruzan is the expensive part Xianyun does her job already at mid investment by buffing the plunge damage. You get more healing out of her if you have her weapon and stack ATK indirectly buffing Furina but she is already good at a baseline.
I don't like the concept of "must pull / must have" in this game, especially since the game is relatively easy when you start understanding its mechanics and "invest" in the proper units. If Genshin was way harder and you NEEDED specific characters to beat it, then it would make sense using those terms. For example, I don't have a Nahida & don't plan on getting her despite the fact that she is a very good character. I was already beating spiral abyss before her release, and I'm doing it after her release. Does it mean she is a must pull ? No, of course not. Same goes for Furina in my opinion, especially if you don't have a proper healer that synergizes well with her like Jean, Baizhu or Xianyun. In many cases she will feel like a sidegrade rather than an upgrade. And yes, the more we will go in the future, the more paths she will be opening & the more teams will be better with her. But as for right now, you can play the game without her and be totally fine. Regarding the new Xiao team (FFXX), it all depends on the state of your account & what you want to do with it obviously. For some people, getting Furina & Xianyun will be worth it (maybe they have Neuvillette ? They want to improve their C0 Hutao gameplay ? They are a Diluc main ? they want to improve their Xiao team clear time in abyss etc.). For others, they will be happy with a team like Thoma/Faruzan/Bennet, that already clears the spiral abyss, and prefer investing their primos elsewhere.

Yes I know you can beat everything in the game with godlike artifacts, I really resent that argument. It takes thousands of resin to get to that point. The fact is it does exist better scaling characters in the game and they reach peak potential faster.

You can run a national team on one side, and a Hyperbloom team on the other, with very average investment and still beat it. You can check content creators on twitch, that do spiral abyss for their viewers, it's very rare to not 36 star when u know which characters to pick & what to invest in or not. People tend to spend months of resin in artifact domains cuz there is nothing else to do lol, and you just want to perfect ur builds.
I would say "must pull" only applies if you are cooking a certain team comp (looking at you mono geo). Otherwise, "36ing" shouldn't be hard as long as you abuse the elemental reaction system.
damn, I have that exact xiao-furina-faruzan-bennett team lol. Definitely anemo ER issues. But Bennett's ATK buff with Noblesse oblige is really good. I'll only ditch him when I get Xianyun. I don't want to build Jean only to ditch her when Xianyun reruns :/
the VV set doesn't work when the holder is off field, so it's better to get the atk boost during the whole duration of faruzan burst vs reducing resistance for 10sec only. When u equip vv on Xianyun, most of those 10 seconds debuff will happen while Xiao is ulting so the team is doing massive damage during that window. Also Song of days past helps with Xiao damage but is relatively unreliable, cuz it depends on the amount of healing Xianyun is doing : For example ur first rotation in abyss will have lower numbers because Furina isn't draining enough HP for the team during that period. It all depends on the scenarios, whether or not you want to showcase Xiao with big damage plunges, want to do speed run & u can finish in one rotation etc. But most of the time, Xianyun with VV is the way to go 👍
Jean is going to do the same job as Xianyun (lower hydro res, team wide healing to get fanfare stacks) minus the big chunk of damage added to Xiao's plunges. So in this case, especially if you have Faruzan C6, it's better to play Bennet or even Charlotte with TTDS to help with boosting the attack of Xiao.
if you have faruzan at c6 u should pull xiao, the amount of damage he gains with his team is 70 percent if the characters are built. It is an expensive team with a high sealing and he really wants a 5 star stat stick. My predicition is that they are going to build out his team even further possibly even give him another artifact option more support options possibly a faruzan 5 star variant. It's because Xiao is such a large selling point for the story, and he is extremely liked by the playerbase.
Zhongli used to be a good Xiao teammate because of the 20% resistance shred that he provided. But now with the addition of faruzan, xianyun, furina etc. he is not required at all. If you really want a shield, you can play Xiao with Thoma in a double pyro setup, otherwise u can just go for other offensive options.
@@argaurav2523 Sayu doesn't bring much here because you are already getting healed with bennet, which lowers SODP damage boost. If your Faruzan isn't C6 and you need another anemo for energy generation, you could play Sucrose with TTDS. You could also play Raiden Shogun and it will fix ur energy problem. If your Faruzan is C6, you should have enough energy generation, adding another anemo unit wouldn't be super optimal.
