Am reading Ezekiel during the second Covid lockdown, here in Chhattisgarh, India. Trying to pray and understand the times by the Word of God and after mulling over Ezekiel 9:6; I knew I needed a teacher. Then I found Dr Alexander on TH-cam, and now I have begun to study in earnest. I hope thousands will be blessed by the treasures he has left behind.

I'm thrilled to know that our brothers and sisters in India are embracing biblical theology. Right now, We are going through the second lockdown here in Shillong, Northeast India this week and I'm starting with this lecture now.
We are truly blessed with such resources from TMS. Thank you TMS and Dr. Alexander. Your presentation is very clear and easy to grasp.
I'll try to complete this book /lectures before the lockdown end.

The Lord bless you both. We prayed for the people of India just this past weekend in our small group at Church, specifically the Chhattisgarhi-speaking Bandai. Then to see you two siblings in the Lord talk about studying God's word here, it's just awesome. Keep up your faithfulness to Jesus: you're both an encouragement to the Lord's people everywhere!

@@SeekTruth100 Amen! You are so correct. He loves to teach us, and He knows exactly how to teach and lead each one of us through the Word. Studying with Him is an act of faith, and He always rewards that act of faith with biblical truths that go so deep within. He knows where each us are in our spiritual understanding of the Word at every moment, where man does not have a clue. When I used to only listen to man teach, so much of what they were sharing went right over my head.

@@SeekTruth100There are many different interpretations in many different areas of the Bible. All claim to be led by the Holy Spirit. How can that be. I appreciate interpretation by Bible scholars who understand Hebrew and Greek to acquire knowledge, wisdom comes from the Holy Spirit. Context has so much to do with interpretation and I am not very well educated in ancient history. Thanks for putting this on TH-cam.

16 Lectures of between 1 - 1 1/2 hours is quite a task to undertake but if you really want a good, clear
and knowledgeable lesson by a teacher who understands the book of Ezekiel its worth taking the time (and notes) as he opens the book up in a way that keeps your attention and enthusiasm up all the way through.
    Bless Him.
I wish there were more expositionary teachings of his available.

31 May 2023 Wed - I want to say I don't know how I got started on Ezekiel and find myself through chapter 22 - but we know I was led to that study and this study.
We so often get caught up in the, "wheels within the wheels" - which is important because it's part of the depiction of God's glory - and the Valley of Dry Bones - that we miss what the book is about.
It has been a harsh read for me so far: when God says He will not spare nor show pity, we know we're in serious trouble.
I searched for a video longer than six minutes that would give more background on the time the prophet was writing. I wasn't keen on devoting an hour to this - but I'm glad I did. Context is critical.
Lest I ramble on, I just wanted to thank your organization for keeping this video available these many years. Viewing it was timely for me. Thank you!

This is FANTASTIC, wonderful teaching, giving so many details, as well as a broad overview, of events and personalities in the O.T. world and Israel. This teacher knows the scriptures, and humbly makes the history so interesting. It is teaching like this which makes one aware of just how wonderful the Bible is. And how gracious God is to explain things to us all, through the bible. And how wonderful it is that the Lord Jesus knew and understood the scriptures to perfection, yet never paraded His knowledge for self-glory. Thank you so much for posting.

I understand that the dates he is using are the generally accepted dates. Here is the correct chronology.
    THE CHRONOLOGY OF EZEKIEL
Ezekiel, when referring to the captivity of Jehoiachin, counts fall to fall, as if Jehoiachin is still reigning. Otherwise his dating is based upon the reign of Zedekiah spring to spring. For both reckoning they begin in the spring of 597 BC. The “30th year” (1:1), which was the equivalent of the “5th year” of Jehoiachin’s captivity (1:2), is the 30th year of the Jubilee cycle (the 18th year of Josiah’s reign being the 49th year of the cycle). Dates of Ezekiel’s visions/prophecies are as follows:
    Vision by the River Chebar
    1:2 5th year of the captivity 4th month 5th day - Sabbath, July 21, 592 B.C.
    Vision of Jerusalem
    8:1 6th year of reign 6th month 5th day - Sunday, September 8, 591 B.C.
    Second meeting with elders
    20:1 7th year of reign 5th month 10th day - Monday, September 1, 590 B.C.
    Beginning of the siege
    24:1 9th year of reign 10th month 10th day - Thursday, January 5, 587 B.C.
    Prophecy against Tyre
    26:1 11th year of reign 5th month 1st day - Thursday, August 9, 586 B.C.
    Prophecy against Pharaoh
    29:1 10th year of reign 10th month 12th day - Friday, January 26, 586 B.C.
    Egypt=Payment to Babylon for Tyre
    29:17 27th year 1st month 1st day - Sabbath, April 15, 570 B.C.
    Broken arm of Pharaoh
    30:20 11th year 1st month 7th day - Friday, April 20, 586 B.C.
    Allegory of the cedar
    31:1 11th year 3rd month 1st day - Monday, June 11, 586 B.C.
    Lamentation over Pharaoh
    32:1 12th year of captivity 12th month 1st day - Monday, March 3, 585 B.C.
    Prophecy of the pit
    32:17 12th year of captivity 12th month 15th day - Monday, March 17, 585 B.C.
    Fugitive brings the news
    33:21 12th year of captivity 10th month 5th day - Tuesday, January 8, 585 B.C.
    Temple vision
    40:1 25th year of captivity 7th month 10th day - Thursday, October 22, 573 B.C.

This was an excellent lecture packed with so much information that truly created a solid frame of real context around the whole era and all the books that surround Ezekiel. Thank you for turning your lecture into a video and for not using the joke title! I would not have clicked on this video if you had named it in order to get more viewers because I would not have cared to find out what the content was under any other title! Daniel was carried captive in the third year of Jehoiakim, which was from the fall of 607 BC to the fall of 606 BC. There is a misinterpretation of the Scriptures that tries to equate the third year, Daniel 1:1 with the fourth year, as in Jeremiah 25:1.
Ezekiel has his first vision in the thirtieth year of the sabbatical cycle and in the fifth year of Jehoiachin's (and his own) captivity. His first vision is July 21, 592 BC (the fifth day of Tammuz). The last vision recorded in his book is given on October 22, 573 BC, in the 50th year of the Jubilee cycle.

Is justice punishing the oppressors-or delivering the oppressed? In Psalm 82:3, it’s clear that justice is done to the afflicted and the needy. Justice is defending the poor and fatherless. In Isaiah 30:18, justice is linked to God’s kindness and compassion, which is the outflow of His good self, the source of life, and that healing intervention is always the right and just action for God to take.
    Thus,
biblical justice is delivering the oppressed-not punishing the oppressor.

In other words The dominant theme of the book of Ezekiel is the “day of the Lord,” which the prophet sees approaching as a consequence of the sins of Judah where Jerusalem resides. A remnant will be saved (the “humble and lowly”) through purification by judgment. You have been told it's in our time or our future. It was talking about the “Day of the Lord Jesus” coming to Jerusalem (Judah) 2000 years ago to purify all that believed he was sent by God himself. The forgiving of sins is what would purify them. Jerusalem is the first sea beast in revelation. It's called the sea beast because it is that group of people that came out of Egypt and crossed the red sea. The believers in Jesus would not be Judged but the rest of those were judged in 70 AD when all of Judah and Jerusalem were destroyed. Jesus told the Apostles (The Believers) all the unbelievers would be Judged to destruction. Mat_24:2 And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? (looking over Jerusalem) verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down. But there is that second earth beast of revelation which calls itself Israel today that has been healed of that deadly wound of 70 AD and has the nation leader worship it at its Idol the wailing wall. So when was the temple rebuilt? Mat_12:6 But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple. Joh_2:19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. Jesus rose up from the dead as the New temple. The new temple was rebuild right then. Rev_3:12 Him that overcomes will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is NEW JERUSALEM, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. It was Jesus that was sent by God and came from heaven into Mary's womb who is now the spiritual New Jerusalem and temple.

Yahshua was the spirit of Elijah implanted in Mary, as stated in Luke 1:35, who was prophesied to come before the day of Yahweh in Malachi 4:5. Matt 17:12 is translated to make it appear that the name Elijah refers to John the Baptist, but the Hebrew כבר translated ‘already’ to make it sound like Elijah has ‘already come’ is translated ‘already now’ in Matt 3:10 of the axe NOW being at the root of the tree. We see in looking at the verses where Strong’s G2235 is found that it means ‘now after all this waiting’, not ‘previously’ as we are made to believe in Matt 17:12.

People don’t have difficulty when a earthly judge administers justice. Why is it so difficult for them to believe it when God does, or speaks of doing so. I know, they are and have been deceived and misunderstand the love of God, mistaking him for having and acting on human emotion.

    • @torchbearer1973
      @torchbearer1973 2 ปีที่แล้ว

I'm sorry, but people have great difficulty when an earthly judge administers justice because oftentimes they feel justice was not served correctly for the victims, and at times that the one who was sentenced was innocent. So I would say your statement isn't entirely correct. When people see that justice isn't served by earthly judges, it can be hard for some to believe that there is a God who does it. They lose hope and faith. We can be instruments in God's hands and love and support those who have been wronged by earthly justice and and help them know that God knows all and will provide for them through their faith and that justice will come by Him in the day to those who escaped earthly justice.

YHUH NEVER CHANGES! The Bible is one book. Israel means overcomer! YHUH created a Nation to be a witness of HIS power, majesty and love! YHUH never gave up on Israel. All who choose the God of Abraham are known as Israel NOT Christian. Read the Bible as one book without the doctrine of man(Dispensationalism etc.) Pray the eyes of your understanding are opened. Let those who have eyes to see and ears to hear, be set free. The truth will set you free. Yeshua(Salvation of Yah) is TRUTH.

All of Yahweh's people must be the priesthood spoken of in 1 Peter 2:9.
If we do as Yahshua commanded in Matt 23: 8 & 10 and call no one teacher or leader except him, then there is no danger of following false shepherds.
I don't believe there will be room for excuses when we are standing before the judgment seat of Yahweh.

    An unknown Resurrection?
    Ezekiel 37:11-13
...these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts. Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,
Almost everything we have been taught about God's Word has been corrupted by false teachers. I accept Ezekiel 37:11-13 as being LITERAL and not an interpretation based on false teachings

1 Peter is written to Jews. Not saying there’s not awesome applications, of course, all through the book, but the church of this age does not get to claim 1 Peter 2:9 as the intended audience of Peter. This book along with all the other Hebrew epistles (Heb-Rev) will be the part of scripture tribulation-age Jewish believers cling to as they seek to overcome and endure the horrors of the tribulation and antichrist. If you read the books with that in mind it’s such a richer experience and understanding, a testimony to the character of God that He would give them their special letters as He has us today in Romans through Philemon.

Manasseh was converted in the 20th year of his reign in 677 BC, his conversion could not put a stop to what he had put in motion. It was not in "his later years".
Esarhaddon records Manasseh's captivity, as seen in 2 Chronicles 33:11.
[1] I mustered [in Assyrian adkema] the kings of the country Hatti [the Levant or Palestine] and (of the region) on the other side of the river Euphrates: Ba'al, king of Tyre; Manasseh, king of Judah; Qawsgabar, king of Edom; Musuri, king of Moab; Sil-Bel, king of Gaza; Metinti, king of Ashkelon; Ikausu, king of Ekron; Milkiashapa, king of Byblos; Matanba’al, king of Arvad; Abiba'al, king of Samisimuruna; Puduil, king of Beth-Ammon; Ahimilki, king of Ashdod
[2] - twelve kings from the seacoast.
[3] Ekishtura, king of Edi’il;note Pilagura, king of Kitrusi;note Kisu, king of Sillu’ua;note Ituandar, king of Pappa;note Erisu, king of Silli;note Damasu, king of Kuri;note Atmesu, king of Tamesi;note Damusi, king of Qarti-hadasti;note Unasagusu, king of Lidir;note Bususu, king of Nuria;note
[4] - ten kings from Cyprus amidst the sea.
[5] Together twenty-two kings of Hatti, the seashore, and the islands. All these I sent out [from Babylon] and made them transport under terrible difficulties, to Nineveh, the town of my rulership, as building material for my palace: big logs, long beams and thin boards from cedar and pine trees, products of the Sirara and Lebanon mountains, which had grown for a long time into tall and strong timber, also from their quarries in the mountains, statues of Lamassu and Shedu protective dieties made of ašnan stone, statues of abzaztu, thresholds, slabs of limestone, of ašnan stone, of large and small grained breccia, of alallu-stone and of gi.rin.hi.li.ba-stone.

Did those "pagans" learned from Abraham when God asked him to sacrifice Isaac ????? what I meant is God's people also did evil things to please the Lord. Today, church leaders, pastors misinterpret God's word, resulting in the End Time " When the power of the holy people has been finally broken, all these things will be completed." Daniel 12:8

I could have sworn we covered this years ago. The King James Version used a limited group of inferior text types. The Bible was written in Greek and Hebrew, not English.
Our English translations are the result of studying The ancient Greek and Hebrew languages, and newer translations are typically better than older ones.
So the NASB, the ESV, the CSB, and the NET Bible are the best attempts to capture the meaning of Scripture in English. The KJV was written in 1611. That's over 400 years ago! It is inferior to more modern translations and contains words we dont even use any more.
You can call Christian Book Distributors apnd get the NET Bible coming out in October 2019. It has the best scholarship and the most natural reading so far.

Everything you say is right but the only difference is that the mosaic covenant was replaced by the new covenant under Christ Jesus. The nation of Israel rejected Christ therefore Jesus rejected them and so did his father Yahweh. A new spiritual Israel , starting with Cornelius the Italian preached to and converted by the apostle paul, and from then on at Pentecost the spiritual Israel were to become Christ bride in heaven. Book of Revelation gives a definite number of 144000 taken from the earth to rule with Christ whilst the earthly subjects remain on the earth when it is transformed back to a paradise. This is the bibles explanation not mine. Psalms says “the meal shall inherit the earth. Can’t have ALL faithful Christians go up to heaven because Jesus and the anointed would have no one to rule over!

As soon as he started to read from the New Testament, I exited.. such a sad sad sad twist in his teaching... totally forgetting what NT teaches: Praying to G-d in Jesse's name.. shame on you Dr. Alexander for a nation to be holy they have to obey the first commandment of G-d: "Thou shalt have no other gods before me". So please stop your preaching and teaching .. accepting Christ as your G-d is breaking the first commandment thus anything you say from this point on is a waste.. Though you seem to understand the book of Ezekiel.. just please don't mix the holy waters with the contaminated water..
