      @CC-of5xl 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Mike-pn8ln oilers gave up the middle a few to many times which that along with terrible goaltending cost them the game. But honestly most of the shots and zone time for the Flames were padded. Alot of time on the perimeter and to many low danger shots. If that's the way they play the Oilers and Smith gets back into form this could get ugly for the Flames fast. I predicted the Flames in 4 but honestly that game had me change on that fast. You can't beat the Oilers by trying to whittle them down. They'll just wait you out and counter attack. They either need to hold on to the puck more and wait for the best opportunities or just push the pace more in the offensive zone. The Oilers were also terrible on the pp that game which could continue with Draisaitl being clearly very injured.

      Flames have generated 115 shots in their last two games. They’re at home, and with those advantages can generate another 50 shots if need be.
      After the first period, the Oilers had seven shots.
      If this plays out in game two like in game one with the shots… it doesn’t mean things won’t change for games three and four.
      But it’s not about power plays, it’s about shots. Sutter’s got the Flames generating shots, but the Oilers will perform better at home, and that’s going to determine how many games there will be.

      @@johnburns9634 calgary was a great away team this year. They also have the upper hand with home games. We'll see of course.
      As long as edmontons first line keeps scoring they'll stay in it.
      Nobody else can score on that team unless they get lucky.

    As a german Edmonton/Draisaitl fan I can laugh about this now.
    But it sure wasn't funny, when I had my alarm set to 4 o'clock in the morning (was it? And they started late!), putting this game on, and after 1 minute going "nono! Not having any of this! Just gonna ruin my whole day!"; switched off and got a good hour more of sleep.
    Only after before game 3(!) did I realize "wait, what? It got thar much worse -- *but they tied it?* Bloody hell! I'd have lost years of my life!"
    Only game I "missed" this season!

    I think Markstrom let McDavid get in his head. The Oilers in general, and McDavid in particular love that cross ice pass into the slot far side. Exactly what happened after that second goal. After that, we see Markstrom down early, and deep in his net, waiting to push across to meet the pass instead of playing out and challenging the shooter. The next 3 are caused by this, 2 of which he gets a piece of but not enough. Come third period, he settles down, probably got talked to by the coaches, and comes out playing his style again. Let’s one goal in that period on a rebound but gets his confidence back.
    I’m actually glad sutter didn’t pull him. We got the win, but more importantly, we let Markstrom figure it out and get back some confidence by the end of the game. In my opinion, we are going to see him come back stronger this game, but time will tell.
