My Heart hopes for Steve and Leafs fans in general it's the former. But history of the Leafs in the playoff recently tells my head it's going to be the latter.

5-1 Rangers over the Devils in NJ was pretty bad too. Same thing, during the regular season the Devils usually had the edge. They didn't even score in regulation. The 1 goal they scored was a Jack Hughes penalty shot. 😂
Maybe Tampa was intentionally playing mediocre all year just to make sure they got the leafs in the first round.
Last Tuesday was a textbook "setting the hook". It was beautiful to watch play out over the week. Tampa's Team Psychologist needs a raise.
Just hope Hedman, Cernak, and Eyssimount are good to go tomorrow night.

Tampa does that to opponents, lets a team get close and then stomps them out. It’s fun being on this side of games like this, hopefully the Bolts have 3 more in this series like that

How people underestimate tampa because they play average hockey games 50 to 82 still surprises me. They've been to the finals 3 years in a row, they're playing boarding games since February. Of course they show up when there's something on the linez they're addicted to winning.
@Derek They dominated the Leafs the last game of the year lol. They doubled them up on shots and controlled most of the game. They were just unlucky not to win that one.

Unfortunately, after the Lighting lost, there number 1 defenseman and two other players got cheap shot into concussion protocol. The Make-beleafs might actually make it out of the first round. Though something tells me that if they try that in the next round. The Bruins have enough depth to loose a couple of forwards and a defenseman for a game or two for defending a teammate.

i feel two ways about this. On one hand i feel sorry for Steve and Leafs fans. I've beent ereh before (see Tampas first round 2019) and granted i havent been there repeatedly i still feel the pan and heartbreak and heartache.
On the other hands as a lightning fan i cant help but laugh when steve yells. its just fun and means the bolts are doing good/the leafs are doing bad.
With that said I respect Steve and like him. He is fair and legit when it comes to being a fan and watching his videos. Well done Steve Hopefully i will be able to watch the next game with you.

Tell Keefe to do his homework b4 coming to the game. Look at the Lightening, they knew Samsonov is not easy to beat with regular shots. They created turmoil in front of the net instead. That’s how they succeeded with the first 3 goals in the first period

We still haven't seen a view where that puck definitively crosses the line. I hope they make that available because that call essentially turned a 4-2 game into a 6-2 game.
Your emotional response to the Leaf’s loss mirrored mine watching my Oilers losing game 1. We get so invested in these teams. I really would love for a Canadian team to win, obviously I would love to see our Conner McDavid hoist up the cup but if not him then the Leafs

Couple things:
1) The best/cheapest thing I’ve ever seen in history by bunting, who single handily got the 2nd best Dman taken out of probably the rest of the series, and also got himself taken off of the first like for Jarnkrok and gives Knies a free place in the lineup. Which makes the leafs way better imo.
2) Theres no way that goal was goaltender interference, I am not arguing about the puck crossing over the line, I didn’t see it, but that’s a free puck in the crease. If he has it covered it might be, but Samsonov wasn’t even close to freezing that puck, you play and dig until the whistle.
Wes McCauley will be calling Game 1 action this evening, which is always interesting but well... there's a lot more at play happening when McCauley refs a Leafs game than most fans could ever know. For those not in the know, let me lay it out to you in a bit of detail.
First off, trigger warning for any survivors of sexual abuse out there.
Okay, surely we all remember the David Frost and Mike Danton scandal, right? David Frost was a former junior coach turned NHL player agent who was accused of sexually assaulting a number of underage hockey players, including Danton. Frost was acquitted of the charges and Danton was subsequently arrested and convicted for conspiring to murder Frost.
Okay, stay with me...
Danton and Keefe are lifelong friends. The two grew up playing hockey together and were teammates on a junior team coached by Frost when the alleged abuse took place. Fast forward to Danton's trial and it was Keefe who was on the stand testifying against Frost.
So... how does this all relate back to McCauley and tonight's game?
Well, Frost and McCauley are brothers-in law and are reportedly very close.
I'm not saying that this is a conflict of interest but... well... maybe that's exactly what I'm saying.
Remember when Keefe was fined for shouting at McCauley? Yeah, makes sense now doesn't it?

Just to point something kinda funny and random out. After the bunting hit during the review and everything at one point they show footage of Coopers reaction and he sees the hit , for a split second gets mad that it’s not gonna get called, sees it’s getting called, starts to celebrate and puts his fist up in celebration, then realizes cameras are probably on him and his guys hurt so he probably shouldn’t be celebrating cause that looks bad and slowly turns his fist pump of celebration into a look of concern and putting his fist over his mouth like “oh my god I hope he’s ok” 😂😂😂😂 hilarious
