The reputation can't buy best mercenary (11:33) is actually kind of a brilliant mechanic. On that alone, I think this game has hooked my interest. If nothing else, I'm going to be watching this designer. Rahdo, I appreciate your reviews. I so often see in your presentations what other reviewers so often seem to miss - the details. Thanks for everything you do. Also, tell your wife those monsters are GORGEOUS.
Dude, thanks for the disclosure and it's appropriate but I also have no reason to believe you would fake a review over that and somehow I doubt Jen and you are flying off to live a life of leisure over the marker production...
sorry, not gonna happen! but watch the runthrough and decide for yourself if you think it looks like fun. i tried my best to demo how everything flows and feels :)
Nah, I'm sorry. I wish it could for ya. In all seriousness, if I'm investigating a game and you have a review for it you can pretty much count on being one of the first 3 clicks. And I have eyeballed Jen's markers more than once, one day I'm going to find a game that just cannot survive without some. Super cool she got a gig as a relative standard (looks like they are an add on) in a game though. I can think of a couple games I wouldn't mind some markers in styles I'm sure she could do.
actually, another video is going up later this week (or this weekend) where again i'll have to do the disclosure thing, because she's made pieces for it too :)
Rahdo, thanks for disclosure! I appreciate it. I do trust your opinion. Would you still be willing to do a final thoughts? I'd love to hear your opinions on the game. I trust your opinion ;) It could be good to give the same disclosure in that video too.

I applaud Rahdo for the disclosure, and I don't think he should ever do a final thought video. It's a lose-lose for him. If he likes it, there'll be people who think it'll be disingenuous on some level. If he doesn't like it, it potentially hurts his ability to have a financial interest in a future game (not that I think he has interest in that, but he should keep his options open.) In my opinion, this was played perfectly.
nope, they are mentioned on the page, but it's down near the bottom in the "add-ons" section (along with some dice and other things you can add on to your order). jen's requested that they move that section up higher as a lot of people will never scroll down that far...
6x6Majin, the art is from Enrique Fernández, the artist behind B-Sieged. I agree, Dice Forge looks similar, but if you look closer, you will find it clearly discernible, Enrique's artwork has a lot more depth and detail (both styles are great, though). There are more than 75 unique illustrations in the game
Oh, don't get me wrong, I wasn't knocking on either art style by any means. I'm just not super familiar with the various artists behind the games and saw a a few similarities between the two here.
whats with all this Post-action luck ? in a euro game ! this game would drive me bananas. Nice art though , and cool glass. Would love to get those mini monsters.
Rahdo as always great Runthrouth, and game really looks fun. How long take setup? this is major issue for my group asap they at table all want to play immediately ;)
it's pretty quick. the only cumbersome thing is finding the right mercenary token for the mercenary cards. but if you keep the factions bagged seperately, even that isn't too bad, and you can be doing it during play instead of as part of setup...
Jen's figures are so cute! She should set up an instagram or even youtube channel (if she hasn't already) I'd love to see some of the other things she makes ☺
she's thought about it, and knows she should, but she just can't bring herself to take on another social media channel! :) but she does update her blog at www.jenefer.net fairly regularly (with lots of nice pictures)
rahdo Oh wow! Thank you. I'd love to have a go at something like that myself but would never know where to begin! I love the idea of the game markers and the coasters are gorgeous. If you come to England in August too you both should definitely organise a gaming meet up!
About this conflict of interests „thing“: A simple disclaimer of financial involvement is more than sufficient. Then give your final thoughts and people will be able to put it to perspective themselves. In the end: getting a copy of the/a game is already and everytime a financial advantage... You are a smart guy and the above mentioned point of view should be obvious to you... Which again leaves only one option: You dislike this game and don‘t want to hurt Jen‘s sales.

I watch this and enjoyed this but like more serious monster themed game. Thank you for playing this, though!!
Oh my, the glass monsters are adorable!

How about an opinion AFTER the kickstarter campaign?
in the words of evil spock, "I shall consider it"

The glass first player markers are cute, but I can't justify nearly $50 CAD for a first player marker.
jen understands :)
rahdo Oddly, there's no mention that I could see in the campaign about the upgraded first player marker. Is it a super sneaky stretch goal maybe?

rahdo Like me! :-) And I was looking!
Is the art in the game by the same person who did the art for Dice Forge? The style looks really similar.

I was thinking the same thing!
I adore 😍 the monsters of Jen!
Is the artist of this game and Dice Forge the same person?
different artists i believe :)
Looks amazing. I so loved B-Sieged and again this looks like a really well designed game.
Those monsters are super cute :))
Love the glass monsters

Nice play on the disclosure and decision to not do a final thoughts.

I was looking for a great dice placement game. This or Troyes?
watch the runthroughs and decide which you think is the most fun :)
'...but enough about that, let's stop talking about first player markers and my wife's glass'
Did anybody else laugh at the pun?
I WANT TO SAMPLE 'HEY EVERYBODY' FOR A RINGTONE, PLEASE!! :D
Or an alarm clock??
feel free! you can download the audio of any of my videos at a site like this: en.savefrom.net/

blah blah blah
i believe you that you aren't being paid extra, but you do bang on about it for way too long
