Thank you very much for your comment ! Definitely, it's one of the nicest engines from OS I've ever meet. Absolutely amazing engine's build quality and craftmanship.
Thank you and have a nice day !

Thank you for your comment ! Definitely, wonderful piece of precise machinery. This engine just has one flaw - due to the specialties in it's construction, engine sounds twice higher tone, than really produced. So, it fires 2 times per one revolution, so it means, that 900 RPM's will really sounds like at 1,8K RPM's.

1:27 - 1:30 the exhaust changed from a leaky faucet to a shower head, lol. The transitions from idle to WOT and back are sweet.

Thank you for your comment ! Yes, it was a lot of small flaws, thank you for for being attentive ! After full rebuild of the engine and to avoid any potential seizing of internal moving parts, I deliberately enriched the fuel mixture to ensure sufficient lubrication. That was the reason for some kind of leaking though exhaust.
I still have some plans to run this engine once more, there is still a lot of unclear questions for me, like why the front cylinders runs hotter, etc.
Thank you and have a nice day !

Hello CE. I got here through David McIntire. I was wondering if you were using a glow driver battery for this run?

Hello, and thank you for your question. Yes, I do, I'm using in this runs glow battery support mostly all the times. I'm searching for the best possible stable idle speed, at first step, going to defind the factors, affecting on idle speed.

wow that low of an idle??? unbelievable

Thank you for your comment ! This is real, there is few necessary steps you should bypass to get this or similar idle - brake in engine fully (at leas, 3-4 hours of operation at different speeds, I do not like to push an engine to the limits, so ~ 5K high speed RPM's will be enough, than, use pure and high quality fuel ( 15-20% of a high quality fully synth oil will give you an advantage is 100-150 RPM's lower). Additionally, from 10 (at least) till 15-20% of nitromethane in fuel mix also will keep you idle steadily low. Of course, glow plug model also important. I prefer OS G5, but OS type "F" will also runs great. I think, that Hangar 9 should work nicely. Thank you, and have a nice day !

great tips! I like using the G5 plugs, they are made from petrol so should work with alcohol based fuels with no issues. LOVE THE LOW IDLE, I like 4 strokes for this reason. I have the IL300 and want that engine to tick like this! @@crazyengines88

Obrigado pelo comentário, é muito bom ler isso! De fato, o motor parece muito bom e soa muito bem. Uma coisa rara para uma coleção, é até difícil imaginar o que mais você pode voar nela.
      Obrigado, tenha um bom dia!

Thank you very much for your comments ! It's true, engine was after serious rebuild, and I decide to run it with a very rich fuel mix setting, to increase lubrication during second brake - in routine.
Thank you and have a nice day !

    Shahed 136!!!

    • @crazyengines88
      @crazyengines88  ปีที่แล้ว

Thank you for your comment ! The only similarity with Shahid 136 - is an amount of cylinders (4), and it's opposite placement. First produced Shahid 136 (& Ababil ) drones were equipped with German origin engine, Limbach L550E, 4 cylinder 2 stroke engine. Soon, after import restrictions on this engines to Iran, "Shahed Aviation Industries", which is currently producing this drones, utilize their own copy of L550E engine, by the kind of the reverse engineering process, under the name Mado 550. So, OS FS 240 engine on this video is too small, to be a pusher engine for such drone.
Thank you for watching CrazyEngines !
