I am planning on an update to this video that doesn't push gribbles/tbm as much. Okay I've listened to a lot of your vids and Druids do not suck! But they are complicated and I'm still learning at 95. I've gotten stuck because I didn't concentrate on AA's and my gear needs help. I have to have a tank to be able do do anything including Gribbles. Of all the toons I've played she is the most fun but the most frustrating! The problem is they are a jack of all trades and a master of none. But she is the toon I've had the most fun playing. Your vids inspired me to try a Pally but she isn't as fun but I haven't played her long enough to get into it. I get a little bored at the lower levels. I'm going to keep playing her tho.
I would say 1-95/100 is a diff game than 100-125. 95/100 is about when classes stop getting new spell/aa lines and start to be settled into their. Gear and Levels are the most important things, Autogrant will grant all the AA up to 115 TOV now, which really opens a lot up to just getting exp until the TOL content. One thing to consider is you could do a beastlord with your druid DRU + BST duo is really strong and with BST paragon the druid wouldn't have many mana issues (issue I have with druids atm). I would also focus the druid on either healing or damage. I find when I try to do both, I have major mana issues.
I only have mana issues if I'm in a dungeon and can not be on my mount. I've been playing the Druid exclusively for about 6 months, and I've found a balance on the mana. The exception is if i run into a high level named, then I tend to burn thru it pretty quickly if my group needs heals and I cast DOTs. Or AOEs. I think I'm going to look into a Bst Lord. I created a heroic Pally, but she is hard to play starting at level 100 because I have such a learning curve. I think I'll start one and play for a while, then maybe go heroic. I'm just not sure after going heroic and realizing how much I have to learn about the class. I swear I'm getting too old to box, but I'll figure it out. I've had autograph AA's as soon as I was able to. But I only had 10%, now I'm wondering if I shouldn't have had it higher. Oh yeah, auto-follow really sucks, I don't ever remember it being so hard until the last few months! I swear they did something in the code to mess it up so bad. You do very good wirh it, my toon find every bush, tree or rock to get stuck on and that's the hardest part about boxing I've ran into so far. Granted, I just started boxing so I'm sure there will be more issues haha! Thanks for your reply. You have really helped me since I started playing EQ again, keep up the great vids!!
change ur tank for mage the pet is a monstruosity and can handle even 3 mobs on him i am doing still dh grible ha at 102 and my water pet is indestructible he never died yet , i multi box, enchanter , mage and bard on melody , the enchanter pull
Probably needs an update after next patch, as the exp is being increased =P I plan to update everything during The Outer Brood as the next expansion after that will be 130 capped.
I know it has been a couple of years but would you say this is still accurate for this level range? I can't imagine they;re adding much new content for under 120 anyway right?
Years ago i was the top SK on my server, took a break amd came back still a top tier SK with a handfull of decent bots. Its now been severalmyears simce Ive played and im totally lost. The respurce websites I used to use are dead. I only activated 3 of my accounts simce comimg back. My SK, Bard, and rotate between mag/rng/clr for the third box using mercs to fill the group. Looking for suggestions at now 101. Where to grind/farm...what ars my target stata for my tank etc..good resource sites?
What kind of gear do you have? Did you do EOK or TBM? If you can tank in frontier mountains I would go there until 105-110, then overthere 110+ It all depends on gear and AA. AA autogrants stops at 105 atm and possibly soon 110. Keep the SK defensive AA maxed out and you should be fine. I have this video with links to all the sites I know of: th-cam.com/video/6RMSN_rutvk/w-d-xo.html
I recently got back into EQ and for the life of me I have no idea what to do, Im a level 115sk with 25k or so AA's and I cannot even solo properly in Brother Island... So confusing..
What kind of gear do you have? 25k is pretty low for a SK. Are you gold? Auto grant should give you like 30k. Do you box? TOV t1 is tradable and cheap.
I’d say less than a month. Probably less. It goes fast, the characters I didn’t record got 115 in less than 2 months maybe 1 months. Making videos makes mine take longer. Bonus events make it faster and FV has bonus exp.
Why? Just doing the missions from TOV got me 111 to 115 and the TOL missions got me from 115 to 120. I made this before the release of TOL, did they buff the exp from the quests? I can't imagine the exp from a TOV mission designed for a 111 would be good at 116.
@@hammackj The mission, mercenary, and partisan % bonuses scales UP as you level, it doesn't get lower IE: say at 115 you got a 20% bonus compling all 3 EW partisan quests at 116 completing it would give you 21% , it doesn't scale down.
I started ToV at 115 , after completing everything through all of ToV (plus about 8 hours of kill grinding) I was only at 118 , Had to finish with grinding out to 119 then do NoS mission , buy collections and used my DB cash to complete Overseers and Hit 120. Lucky I'm in a very good raid guild with tons of support or I would have really struggled.
Yeah unfortunately the daily tasks give little exp now. At 81 the level 70 gives 4% and the 75 gives about 6%. I am not able to solo the 85 task and have not been able to find the mobs in the 80 task. Been trying to get gribble missions since I hit 75 but doesn't seem like anyone on FV does them anymore.
Good till 70ish. Didn’t use the tank one much as I alway box a tank or pet class and use the healer. After 70 the fade till you can get the j5 upgrade at 75 or 85. Then they are good again for a bit. Next chance I get I’ll test the max merc vs a 115 mob
Also, running a tank and gearing from 65 - 85 was a complete hellride when I played 4 or 5 years ago. You’d think they’d fast path some of that to keep the game healthy. I can remember my merc tank outclassing my warrior by a country mile, was a bit depressing.
They changed the mercs recently so the J1 == the J5 so, i think that might help the 65-85. I soloed a monk from 1 to 90 on live self found with not a lot of issues. Boxing self found 1 to 120 would be trivial these days. but yeah around 75 it used to suck hard.
Great video but a problem I am having is that I play solo allot on FV. My merc is the only help I get hunting from 105 to 120 now. Coming back to the game and knowing that nobody is grouping anymore kinda stinks. Everyone is 6 boxing there way through the game.
It has been a few years but, If I recall I literally grinded out 200+ kills a level with EXP bonus / EXP potions. Then went to GMM when I had enough AA.
"Only 34,000 AA". Well, I can tell the game has changed a lot since I played regularly. I mostly stopped playing during Gates of Discord, with brief returns to get to max level in House of Thule and Ring of Scale--but not enough time spent to really catch up on AA. That just seems like an insane amount of AA to have and still find a character lacking. I can remember in Luclin when some decent raid guilds were asking that you have 100 AA's to apply!
Hey, I'm just trying to get back into EQ after many years of sharing an account with my Dad and need some recommendations. I got a Heroic boosted Shadow Knight and I am wondering where should I go if I am looking to level up solo (with a merc)?
Do the House of Thule quest line. That will get you the J5 merc and decent place to solo till 90. That should get you started if you haven’t seen the content I recommend following the expansions till 120. I am current running a beastlord solo through house of Thule if you wanna see the quests and stuff. If you have any questions pop on the discord and ask away
Yes amazing! Would you recommend a full boxed group to follow this guide? I finally got My enchanter back! Just debating on how to level him up he’s 89.
Yeah I am working a ISBoxer based group atm going through a written version I previewed on a few streams. First episode is 2/14 shows everything. Starting at level 1. 89+ in this video should help you let me know if you encounter any issues or have questions.

i dont think the ToV Mercenary give 10% and Partisan give 20%. i just finished 1 Partisan quest in WW during 150% exp bonus event, it only gave me 0.33%. these guide is totally broken
The gist of the places is the same but for solo take 5 levels off. My heroic 100 bard shows some soloing and how to do it. Just use the chants you have at 87. But the major reason people box is because soloing sucks. And 115+ all the exp is tied behind quests vs kills and all the later missions are pretty much not soloable unless you are an SK or necro in raid gear. I highly recommend finding a guild on your server that will make things easier to group with people. Harder to find random LFG on live. TLPs have that better chances.
I prefer playing mmos with only one character in mind. Is it even possible to do everquest current content without boxing your whole team? seems like everyone just boxes their own group and never plays with anyone else. Seems odd.
You technically could depending on the class. Live everquest is a very top end game, most people are in the 115-120 range so getting a group before that might be hard. I haven't tried. Most classes can solo/molo to 80+ fairly easy tanks/necros/druid/etc can do it really easy. Everquest also has TLP servers which are like replaying the game from classic through each expansion. These have a lot of lower level players and some servers have truebox(1 character per computer) type rulesets to lower the boxing population. These are perfect for leveling a character and experiencing the game with other players. Most TLP allow you to transfer characters to live if you want. If you don't want to multibox then I recommend TLP servers as they have the highest amounts of lower level players. If you have seen my nomeregard series, I have pretty much soloed the necro class most of the way. The benefit of multiboxing is you can control everything. Need healer? box it never leaves unless you do. Need tank? same thing always with you. Let me know if you have more questions.
You can, depending on class will depend how easy and how fast. I moloed a SK to 115, a lot of the work is done by grinding through expansionsat a lower level than you and using the daily xp buff (Lesson of the Devoted) andhot zones to get to a reasonable level. Forexample before doing HOT I did a lot of grinding of Fortress Mechanitos etc to get up to the higher eighties. Also overseer quests will get you there quicker too. You will end up buying a lot of gear from the bazaar as you won’t be able to molo a lot of the names. If you can get a second account up that really helps too. A shammy for a SK makes thingssooo much easier. Plus when you are grinding AA after 105, leveling a second character makes it much less boring.
meh...I hear all the time people talking about needing all the best is slot stuff for a tank. No, no you don't. You do need the AA for defensives and hitpoints, but I haven't bothered with getting augs for years at this point on my warrior. Of course, I don't use mercs either. Those things are also garbage and have been for several years. You want a real healer and a real tank and then you can get away with using tier 1 gear on the tank, and no augs at all, or tier 2 from the previous expansion, again no augs and you can farm out the end zones from the current expansion. It's been that way for over a decade now. Too many people really over-estimate what it takes to play a tank, even if it's a box. Truth is, don't use a healer merc and the tank experience is MUCH better. I am also talking 100% group geared. I have no raid geared characters in my setup since raids have been boring snoozefests for several years now as well so I quit doing them. Learn how to use the tank's abilities and you can get away with FAR less gear than you may think is otherwise possible. I can tell you from personal experience that people saying you need to go out of your way to gear up a tank simply aren't playing it effectively. You do need to be at least half-way geared from the prior level up expansion at a minimum, say 40% of your slots or so, but once there you'll be fine with a real healer. With a merc healer, you're going to have stress even with best in slot gear.
no. please dont just heroic. play your char to at least level 20. 60 is preferable, you can get there in a day. then at least you know HOW to be good playing your char and if you group with strangers or someone in your guild you know how to properly play your char and pull your weight in the group. -sincerely someone who has played eq for 20 years.

This may need an update soon, probably after Outer Brood comes out or LS?
Probably needs an update after next patch, as the exp is being increased =P
I plan to update everything during The Outer Brood as the next expansion after that will be 130 capped.
I know it has been a couple of years but would you say this is still accurate for this level range? I can't imagine they;re adding much new content for under 120 anyway right?
Yeah, all new content since 115 has been focused at 115+
Subbed. Amazing videos. Thank you, this helps immensely! Updates for 120 and beyond?
I have a 116 to 120 video. No level cap update this year, but I will do a 120to125 when they up the cap again.
If you can tank in frontier mountains I would go there until 105-110, then overthere 110+
It all depends on gear and AA. AA autogrants stops at 105 atm and possibly soon 110. Keep the SK defensive AA maxed out and you should be fine.
I have this video with links to all the sites I know of: th-cam.com/video/6RMSN_rutvk/w-d-xo.html
Do you have a video about where/how to farm plats on these levels? 75+
There are a few spots coming out this month and a few more next month.
@@hammackj Awesomeee, looking forward to it
im 105 sk, my gear is from the HA, now im Lceanium and i can barely solo. where do i get gear?
The broken mirror should be doable for u
Well, I enjoy the game. I wish I can go back to the old days when there was none of his fancy stuff. It made you appreciated better.
What fancy stuff? This game is woefully outdated when it comes to many things.
What level do free aas from gold access stop?
110 now.
How long to get 75-100 if i play only 3 - 4/per day?
I’d say less than a month. Probably less. It goes fast, the characters I didn’t record got 115 in less than 2 months maybe 1 months. Making videos makes mine take longer. Bonus events make it faster and FV has bonus exp.
I would not start ToV-ToL merc/part/missions now until you finish grinding to 115 or 116 .
I was doing some a few weeks ago and saw a bunch of peeps. I box them though and half may character would go to different picks =\
What's minimum level a 120 can group with?
90. 85 can do 115
Is gribbles still the fastest way to level on TLPs?
I’ve never done it on a TLP. I suspect it is tho till 105 or do maybe more if other stuff is harder.
How do the Warrior Mercs stand up?
Good till 70ish. Didn’t use the tank one much as I alway box a tank or pet class and use the healer. After 70 the fade till you can get the j5 upgrade at 75 or 85. Then they are good again for a bit. Next chance I get I’ll test the max merc vs a 115 mob
@@hammackj thank you!
After 70 they don’t stand up - They fall down loads 😂
Solo Beastlord just went Heroic. Any Solo Spots you recommend?
85? House of Thule. I have a series on a heroic beast that goes for a bit and shows some stuff
@@hammackj LVL 100 now lol
where or what is the zone GD that dont help much
Great Divide in the Torment of Velious expansion. Sorry about that.
@@hammackj ok but actually gribble in dh can give still good xp up to 103 about 6% per mission
Excellent video as are all your EQ vids. Thank you!
Thank you kindly!
Great video but a problem I am having is that I play solo allot on FV. My merc is the only help I get hunting from 105 to 120 now. Coming back to the game and knowing that nobody is grouping anymore kinda stinks. Everyone is 6 boxing there way through the game.
What class? I soloed 1-115 using my guides. These do need updates tho. As I don’t prefer gribbles as much anymore vs doing all the expansions
How did you grind OT at 111? I only get .077% per kill. Thanks
It has been a few years but, If I recall I literally grinded out 200+ kills a level with EXP bonus / EXP potions. Then went to GMM when I had enough AA.
@@hammackj
I think they lowered xp. Even with double xp on test server it will take -1,287 kills to go from 111 to 112 in OT
AA are so fast at 120/live it is not bad. I was getting 100 per gribble at 85.
mudflation, the universal constant in mmo's :-D
@@hammackjI have no idea what 100 per gribble means
I finally got
My enchanter back! Just debating on how to level him up he’s 89.
Yeah I am working a ISBoxer based group atm going through a written version I previewed on a few streams. First episode is 2/14 shows everything. Starting at level 1. 89+ in this video should help you let me know if you encounter any issues or have questions.

damn nice you have been busy. How do you like the ranger?

What level are you? What class?
@@hammackj 87 bard
The gist of the places is the same but for solo take 5 levels off. My heroic 100 bard shows some soloing and how to do it. Just use the chants you have at 87. But the major reason people box is because soloing sucks. And 115+ all the exp is tied behind quests vs kills and all the later missions are pretty much not soloable unless you are an SK or necro in raid gear.
I highly recommend finding a guild on your server that will make things easier to group with people. Harder to find random LFG on live. TLPs have that better chances.
Huh heh heh huh heh heh
Hmmmmmmmmmmm
Bro it's 30 level max spread. 110-75 doesn't equate
Huh?
No way you can start killing in fm at 100
I do 100 to 108/109 there easy. Just depends on the group / class.
I would S this videos D if I could.
lol
no. please dont just heroic. play your char to at least level 20. 60 is preferable, you can get there in a day. then at least you know HOW to be good playing your char and if you group with strangers or someone in your guild you know how to properly play your char and pull your weight in the group. -sincerely someone who has played eq for 20 years.
This video is geared toward live not TLP. Zero chance to get a group at level one on live.
Bit late, but with how much playing a class changes from beginning to end, it's almost a non point
You wander to much when you talk, it's hard to listen to. Get on point and spit it out.
