As a native of this beautiful state I hate all of this gated, private property crap that is popping up all over.

Welcome to "Ida-tex-ifornia." Its over for us. The State is trying to cash in on all the Valley County Endowment land and next theyll petition for State custody of Federal land so they can sell that too. Anything that remains public will be so crowded by the transplants who have never seen snow or real mountains, itll be impossible to enjoy it. After that they will petition to change the the County name to "San Fernando Valley County". This is our future! Enjoy!

@@rulontrost3529 Neither positivity nor negativity are of any value to me. They are abstract concepts fabricated by humans to describe feelings that we assign to things when we want to inject ourselves into a reality that exists in an identical state irrespective of our existence. I describe things with the only dichotomy that has substance or matters; true or false. My above comment is true. The Wild West died because of Manifest Destiny and the Wesward Expansion Movement, so too will Idaho die as a result of White Flight from once gentrified areas that are experiencing urban decay.

All of that just sickins me. I grew up here. I stopped rafting and camping up the river. Its been taken over by out of state people. Garbage mess everywhere along with the rift raft making the mess. Now the police have to double up to patrol it. It was so peaceful once, and now its not. So stick it! You know where!

Haha you think the Police can do anything? Theres too many people for them to Police! Theres no such thing as a speed limit on I-84 anymore, even in town! You can go 80 between Meridian and Boise and other people will actually ride your ass and pass you because thats not fast enough for them. Its ridiculous. The Police are so indisposed that this is just the new normal.

It was great until Valley County was overrun by rich Californians and those 2 jerks from Texas who think Idaho is for sale.

I do like to complain about the overall gentrification of Idaho, but I will be honest about one thing... We Idaho natives kind of brought this on ourselves. We did so by continuing to vote mainstream Red for generations in this State rather than doing the work and research required to vote for Conservative candidates that were more than just lip service. Would this have stopped the migration invasion? Absolutely not; but it could have put native Idahoans in a position to take advantage of the people coming here instead of them completely cutting us out and taking advantage of our elected officials, whose only loyalty seems to be to people with money. I compare them to the greedy little dog that begs at the table for anything they can get, as long as its not from the bowl their master filled for them. We have allowed them to sell us down river and we are paying for it. All I can say to fellow REAL Idahoans is to evolve. Create a tourism startup and capitalize off of that or start a business in hospitality. Point is, Idaho IS for sale now and we can either compete and buy it back or let the vultures pick it apart. Yes, its unacceptable.... But we have to accept it because we have no choice.

@@DanielFHarb-rx1yw The Idaho Constitution made us the "Managers of Idaho". It says all publicly held land is an endowment for the people of Idaho. The problem most of us have with people coming from elsewhere, is they come in and try to change things. One of the big things thats been hotly discussed is public land in Idaho. We have a lot of land investors who come here and try to lobby our local Government to auction or sell some of it off and it then limits the biggest facet of local culture which is obviously sportsmanship and outdoor recreation almost anywhere, any time. If that goes away, Idaho wont be special anymore. Forgive us for being a little emotional about it, its only our home! Im sure you would love it too if one of us was able to get the government to give us your land so we can keep you out.

@@edwardnigma6568 Very well said. There ARE people (myself) that respect locals, want nothing to do with Government, don’t desire to change anything, would be nothing but gracious, respectful, wonderful, God~Loving Neighbors. There are people (again, myself), that love people, love God, love the opportunity to share a gorgeous portion of a lovely State, not wanting to change anything at all. Last word: it is “God’s Country, the People’s Country, honestly, nobody “Owns” anything. So being gracious is the correct road, you never know, y’all might fall in love with good people and make new friends.😁
