That boat is really going to turn some heads when it's all done!! I am almost 2 years into a full restoration of a 1961 Sea Sprite 34' built by Chance Industries. You both have done very well for only 8 months!

Thanks so much! It's been a lot of work, and we have a lot left to do even once we're back in the water - but the rewards are immeasurable for sure.
I feel like we knew someone who owned a Sea Sprite in either Savannah or Beaufort. Those are beautiful sailboats... Good luck on the restore and hope we see you in the water someday!

Try some citric acid. I use it to remove rust stains in pools. Your videos are fun to watch. Keep them coming. 🇺🇸

      Hey thanks for the suggestion!
Citric acid is the active ingredient in the product we used to passivate the stainless (CitriSurf). It works very well for that, but the issue is the railings are rusted on the inside and a lot of the chocks and cleats are rusted on the bottoms - and we only treated the outside - which means they're still going to weep rust with rain/dew. We need to pull all of them off and soak/scrub them.

@@sovereignsea. they make a rust converter that you could inject inside the railing to stop the damage to those very expensive rails. If I can find the product I’ll message it to you. Cheers.

I don't know why... but I laughed so hard at the slinky comment! 😂
    Great job so far guys!
I myself would of used a heat gun and a scraper to get the paint off the door. Would of saved you guys a lot of sanding time....and maybe a few tools would still be running at full speed. 😂

Thank you! Bekah says I'm not funny - can't wait to show her this comment, LOL
And yes - a heat gun and scraper would probably have worked a lot better. I need to get one of those for the tool box - thanks for reminding me!
