driving practice test( 1st portion of the road test) in MI with my wife

- You can missed up to only 6 points in this parking portion. The first part is the FORWARD STOP LINE(you will drive forward and stop your vehicle with your front bumper w/ in 2 ft of the "stop line without touching or going past the stop line.2nd is you will back your vehicle from 90 degree angle into a simulated driveway w/o touching or crossing over either boundary(excluding mirrors).3rd is curved path backing-blind side(parallel parking), you will drive the entrance of a parking space located on the passenger side of your vehicle. you will then back your vehicle into the space. The size of the space is determined by adding 6 ft. to the length of your vehicle.Then next is ON THE ROAD(free way, round about,traffic etc...)we have no dash cam so we didn't include here.Hope you like this vid...good luck!

Watching this, gives me courage to keep practicing. From Michigan here.
Parallel parking on a road test is stupid. Unless you live in a city area, I don't see no point in it as it's not a driving necessity. My road test is in 4 weeks here in NJ and I am not good at parallel parking. I'm confident in everything else though! I plan on hiring a driving instructor to help me with parallel parking.

My dad would pull the parking break on my brother because he wouldn’t stop when my dad said stop!!! Was a Ford Escape with the shifter on the column like this Buick Century here. But it had the parking break in middle. Used it as the instructor break! 😅
What are the right measurements to set up the course?
I love how he talks to her calm and everything all my dad does is yell😭 that’s why it’s hard practicing with him
because there is vid but men..., I've been being yelled too specially in the roundabout wherein I can't get NE, SW, NE because there no sign ,its a breath taking , I almost give up, lol
Well, thanks, but there were more than just a few white knuckled moments from the time my wife learned to drive up until she tested for her license, but indeed it takes patients.

Had my test back in 2018, also in Michigan. Got my license on my 16th birthday. Practiced this course so much before I took the test. But I passed it on my first try! So glad I only had to do it once.

Do you recommend using the smallest vehicle possible for the test, like a Chevy Spark?
You probably already took it by now but they add 6 feet to the total length of your car so whether you use a small car or a big van you still have the same amount of room to work with
Yo guys I took the test with 20 hours of driving and passed focus on the 90degree park bc you don’t need to focus on parallel park

When you back into the first parking spot... do you turn your wheel all the way to the left, or a half of a turn?

I got my car in the cones but they still failed me for some reason thats why im so confused now..
Perhaps you drove outside of the lines during your process, and wound up back inside them whe you finished. It should have been up to them to tell you what your mistakes were however.. Even I way back in the day had to repeat because I was driving a standard transmission and stalled the car in the middle of an intersection. No big deal. You will the next time around. 👍
@@SaturdayClothes probably so cuz there were lines but idk which lines you’re talking about. There was a white line followed by a yellow line in the reverse parking and i touched the white line so i lost 2 points there. Then when I parallel parked they told me i lost 5 points without telling me why. Now what if i do the same mistake again cuz idk what my mistake was in the first place

that was golf area now converted to corn plantation so it was closed, my wife is so lucky she was able to practice

why not use the parking layout? why complicate things?
that's what licensing for driving required so just follow what is being asked

Ирина Шепелинская just took my road test in Michigan and this is identical to everything on it.
This is exactly how the road test is set up. You only get an extra 3 feet on both sides when parallel parking.
