Been waiting for this video since you got this mobo, on paper it seems like a great budget board (at the moment, prices are silly) and going from your review it looks like its a solid option for a budget build right now. Thanks Mike and Kath.
cheers Bob, and now finally getting the build done with it, I am pretty pleased with it, and it does seem to push the R5 4500 pretty hard which is nice
Good overview of the board Mike, Asrock do some good budget boards, the B450M Pro4 is a great budget board too been using it for a few years with no issues.
I bought the b550m-itx from ASRock which is pretty much the cheapest itx going. ASRock make some real value sometimes. Admittedly I wouldn’t go and out a 5950x in it but for the price is it’s great (just probably limited to 8 core processors).
Hello, Mike! Great video again thanks for what you’re doing :) I have a question, Will I be okay if i use this same motherboard with ryzen 5 5600 or I will need to update the bios?
unless it is really old stock it should be okay. the 5600 has been out for around 2 years now. The board would have had to be sat a shelf for a long time to not have the update
@@mikesunboxing I read on their website that it only requires bios version 1.00 to run the Ryzen 5 cpu’s (G versions not included) which is the first bios of the motherboard.. I don’t get it why some people need to update the bios in order to run newer cpu’s..
I am using this board with a r7 3700x with 32gb 3200 ram. It is absolutely rock solid. I will be switching to a 5700x in a couple of weeks. It should still do just fine. @@fernandostanic2035 it might need a bios update. Do you have an older Ryzen that you could use to do a bios update? I am running it currently with a 5700x.
Definitely a budget builders dream motherboard 😱🥰👍. It’s a shame thou AsRock generally have lower quality / capacity VRM solutions which limits their uses for R7-R9 or i7-i9 builds for anything other than light gaming loads 😖. At least give it 70a VRM setups to give them a chance of some heavier usage imo. The board features are quite good but having just 1x M.2 is quite limiting forcing you to use SATA drives for storage upgrades.
Great content Mike I prefer MSI motherboards tbh but this a good option for people on a budget crazy thing is this is cheaper than a b450m steel legend which is over£100. There must be a hell of a lot of demand still...
I'm thinking of buying one of these for my daughters 2nd PC. It currently has a Gigabyte B450M V2 in it which, although a decent board, it only has gen 3 pcie so I'm considering this for the upgrade to gen 4 plus an extra M.2 drive, ARGB header etc. I'll probably be dropping my old 5600x in it once I update mine to the 5800x3d. Thanks for the video, you're my go to for motherboard reviews these days as you seem to review all the ones I consider buying 😁
Interesting board for the price imo. I wud b interested in upgrading my rog strix b450 to b550 and then swap mine mb into dters and use her A320m in a htpc 4 bedroom as have spare r3 1200/gtx1050ti/psu(old 500w)/ram! Most mbs seem down grade so wonder if this board with r5 4500 mite be a better value option esp as A320s are nearly same price. Thanks for reviewing Mike and Kath, look forward to seeing the build video🐈👍
at the moment price wise this is about the only MATX board that makes any sense buying no at the tail end of AM43 in my opinion, wide CPU compatibility and lowest current price and a few nice features
Hi Mike What do you think about this one ASRock B450 Pro4 R2.0 i have noticed you have not reviewed it ,reviews on Amazon were very few.How does it compare with the one you reviewed on here..?I am only interested in ones with 3.2 Gen 2
Hi, Mike. Nice mobo for the price. I just ordered an MSI X570S Edge MAX WiFi Gaming Motherboard for my back up system for $250 including Uncle Sam's cut. Good deal or not?
That second PciE slot is x4 according to asrock i have purchased this board because of that, can you please confirm?? So that’s 1 slot gen4 x16, 2 slot x1 and 3 slot gen3 x4
does this have usb 2.0 internal connector Mike? i just bought a nzxt x73 rgb aio, and unfortunately my mobo has no usb 2.0 internal connector, so i'm looking for a motherboard that will be compatible with the aio & my cpu, ryzen 3200g. i know it's silly.

Its a pity that you can't get pci3-8x on the bottom port, when the CPU's support that configuration.

Genuinely a blatant lie about their VRM, it's just this specific board is meant to be mega entry level.

Please I would love to see if this morher can support a ryzen 9 5950x with ok temperatures using a normal average cooler like those cooler masters.
it will be fine in normal windows use and most games, but rendering or heavy core loads will be on the edge

look at the bios chip on the board it will have a version number stamped or printed on it, then check that against the website cpu compatibility list
Gonna do a build video with this one?
already done and livestreamed
