If anyone is looking for a cheaper variation of this deck you can swap: Squirrel girl, hydra bob, and marvel boy For: Sunspot, lizard, and armor These cards will provide points of power on the board when you lock out the locations and protect your 1 costs from killmonger. Hope summers, war machine, and legion are kinda necessary.
I think Hela needs a redesign in a way that the cards she resurrects is not benefited by Luke. Might need rewording on Luke's part, but aside from a complete change from what Hela does, you're right that the dial means nothing with Luke in the deck.
I was thinking about it, and maybe if she worked kind of like Gambit, where she resurrects a discard by destroying a card in play on their side, that way the only way to get Luke would be if he survived the culling or was resurrected. Probably too complicated for SD. Maybe if she worked like Sersi, but traded cards in a lane for cards in discard. That way she is a lane bomb but not a board bomb
Legion is fun! Storm/Legion is less fun, I made a deck with Scarlet Witch, Nocturne, War Machine, Luke Cage and Legion so I could copy a larger variety of fun locations. Other cards are Ebony Maw, Madam Web, White Widow, USAgent, Rogue, Cosmo, and Infinaut.
If Hela / Clog are the Borg my learning this season is resistance is futile. I often try to resist to the end but just couldn’t do it. As an average player i was better off assimilating at least to get to infinite / get doc octopus in conquest (easily with Hela). Then I switched back to interesting decks which I find more “fun” to play.
hela decks, and decks alike, are just tough because you are already dealing with rng when it comes to locations and card draws. On top of that you can lose to hela just randomly throwing big cards in winning lanes. Ends up being more of a coin than it already is, regardless if you played your turns and hand out well. Doesnt feel like something the game needs, and i felt the same about arishem miraculously shuffling counter cards into your oppenents deck.
Is there any mad scientist out there that will try Legion Lockdown with Kang to bluff snap Legion? This gives two chances to draw something that can snap after playing Storm. I would do it myself, but I'm missing Legion.
Hey Jeff, this is completely unrelated to the content of the video so I apologize but I always go to you when I find myself having questions and needing honest answers. As of this most recent OTA I've already grown immediately tired of the new symbiote spider-man galactus decks. A Symbiote buff seemed reasonable but to buff 2 cards in the same package seemed like a massive misstep- really don't know what they were thinking. You play to one lane for Galactus, and a BP drops instead. You play for all lanes and you're stretched thin for a Galactus play. If you play around all that you can still just lose to thinking an Arnim was coming down (not playing for said lane) and then Taskmaster shows up instead. Granted, Galactus is still not a good card via Symbiote as it's still a measly amount of power in the end. I guess I'm wondering if there's any play other than to leave? I hate giving cubes for games I may win if their draw was bad but I also know their draws probably aren't bad and can make up somewhere. And obviously playing a certain deck to counter seems counter-intuitive. What's the play? I'm worn thin.
One of the reason why Hela sucks is because she warps the format in a way that makes decks like this one of the few viable ways to play the game. Hela's gameplay is awful and metagame she creates is often even worse. Just an awful design to have be popular.
This deck is oppressive but easy to counter. Nocturne, Magik, Legion, and Scarlet Witch are easy and popular ways to stop the board from being locked out. Nebula, Marvel Boy, Sunspot, Red Hulk etc. and High Evolutionary cards like Misty Knight and Cyclops put stats into play after you get locked out. You could also play Rouge (To reverse the War Machine) or War Machine to counter the lock out all together. There are various different ways to counter this deck to the point where you might do it on accident. This deck also doesn’t put up a lot of stats so if you put up enough stats before turn five you’ll beat this deck as well. Hela on the other hand is oppressive but not easy to counter. Cosmo can counter her in one lane and if you wanted to and you could Mystique the Cosmo in a second lane but Hela decks will just play the cards out like normal or just play Hela in the third lane and beat you because three power for six energy on two turns is abysmal stats. There aren’t one to two cards you could run to beat Hela. You’d have to run entire decks to beat her and those decks tend to be oppressive ones like the one Jeff is playing and Clog. That’s what Jeff means by Hela enables oppressive decks like these and clog and what he means by Hela creates an unhealthy meta.
@@Kimoni6913 Agreed. Any deck with an ounce of tech or location mitigation probably has a way out from the very telegraphed play line. Stopping Hela and all the decks she makes ascend is a far different situation.
This might be an unpopular opinion, but I actually support people complaining about Hela.
Absolutely

Hope summers can be psylock to still enable the inifi hulk line on games where your combo doesn't come together.

Limiting her resurrections to three Power or fewer cards is the easiest rework. She's supposed to be a commander of undead armies, not champions.

I hated the Redesign becsuse i was a funny swarm hela player using blue marvel too.
Did I win? Not much.
Was it fun? Very
What if mantis was redesigned to ON REVEAL transform all enemy cards in this lane to rocks that were not played from hand?

Any replacements for bob 😢
Sable or Iceman.
you can actually counter hella with baron zemo deck though
im not sure how giving yourself a blade helps you against hela in anyway but sure.
I love you to death Jeff but you can’t complain about Hela while simultaneously playing one of the most oppressive decks in the game.😂

Kick out Legion if you want to feel more human.
