  • Living in a retirement community can be peaceful and relaxing, but it can also bring unexpected visitors. For one homeowner, she found herself with a mother raccoon and her babies living inside her window well. As much as she loved having them so close, she was also worried about going into her own backyard.
    That's when she called Gates Wildlife, a professional wildlife control company that specializes in the humane removal of wildlife. Responding to the call, the team quickly assessed the situation and devised a plan to safely remove the raccoon family from the window well and reunite them.
    In this heartwarming video, you can see the entire process unfold as the team carefully lifts each raccoon out of the window well and places them safely in a heated reunion box. But the story doesn't end there! The team also captures the mother returning for her babies later that day.
    Watch the video now to witness this heartwarming rescue and reunion, brought to you by Gates Wildlife.
    Please give this video of thumbs up if you enjoyed it!

      Yep. If they just didn’t break into people’s homes dropping feces and stuff and chewing through wires and leaving their homes exposed so other animals could get in then they could stay. I’m pretty sure as long as their other den site isn’t someone else’s home it’ll be adequate for her and her babies. She did look so cute lying on her babies keeping them warm though.

    The fur loss on her could be from crawling under fence.
    I rescued a raccoon when I was a kid. He didn't have eyes opened. I feed it with doll bottle.
    Snooks was his name. Boy can I tell stories on Snooks. Got into alot of trouble le over that coon.
    Snooks didn't know that it was a raccoon. He thought he was a dog because that's what kept him safe while at school.
    One day we ran to the store. Back then you didn't even close your front door. When we got home Snooks had gotten into the kitchen. They heard my mom scream 2 streets over. Snooks had sugar and flour everywhere. Dad built a cage whenever he got home. Had to lock him up while at school.
    I could go on and on with stories of Snooks.
    At 5 I Finally had to set him free at my uncles. He kept beating up the dogs in the neighborhood.
    I loved that coon. He slept with me. I sat outside to eat so Snooks could have a bite.
    I cried for days over Snooks.😢

      In one of their vids the mom did come back and take up residence and was there the next day. Free rent and utilities. 😅 They gave her an extra day and she took her babies and left.
      We had a raccoon get under a cedar shake shingle and into our attic. They have alot of hair and can squeeze into small spaces. We were wondering why we were seeing the mom in broad daylight drinking out of our bird bath with us sitting right there. She did $600 worth of damage to our roof taking them out. We thought we were hearing birds till the babies got mobile and we scheduled to have "squirrels" removed. Never suspected it was that larger-looking raccoon.

    Even though I knew what you were doing I still felt upset when you lifted her baby out. The pain I felt for her was really strong. , She felt so helpless laying there with her babies lost no knowing what to do. Thank god it was friend's who were looking after her and her babies. It's a pity the house owner didn't have the same attitude or feelings concerning the wildlife where they live. Attitude should be let's make our wounded planet well again. Watching this video made me realize we have raccoon babies in our attic now. I knew there must be a raccoon because I saw one early one morning then heard something heavy and smelled a horrible odor. But I heard what I thought were baby birds as I sat on the front porch. I couldn't see a nest, but the sound is coming from the soffit just over the flowerbed. Our porch is covered. When I watched this tonight and heard them crying that's the same exact sound I was hearing on the porch. 😭 We just don't have the money to call our regular critter catcher. So for those of you who don't want them moved, be glad. I'm just afraid of them causing a fire. Our lights have been on the fritz for months and I know both the mama and some squirrels have been in the attic. 😒

    9:15 I have to stop righ here. She has mange, and needs rescue and rehab.

      That looks like scarring, not the scabs I've seen that mange victims have. It's not nice, and probably causes her some distress, but taking her in for treatment would be very stressful for her.

    Did you get that poor mama and her babies out? My heart breaks for her as she tries to protect her family. You can see by her fur that she hasn't had an easy life. The fear she must be feeling really makes me sad. I pray you got her out with her family and that she is taken some place safe with food. 😥😥😥❤️❤️❤️🦝🦝♥️

    Nice to see you kindly remove them
    BUT I live on a farm
    Every year raccoons destroy a number of acers of my field corn
    As soon as ears form the raccoons tear off the ears and maybe eat a bite if it isn't ripe enough
    Then move to another stalk and do the same
    Raccoons were rare in most of the Eastern USA till farmers started raising crops to feed us
    Now they are a PEST and cost me thousands of dollars a year
    I do fight back and get crop damage permits to catch and remove as many raccoons as we can
    They do not go to waste as the Bald Eagles , Coyotes and Turkey Buzzards all eat well

    • @norwegiangadgetman
      @norwegiangadgetman ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, they are a problem many places. Have you tried masking your fields by growing 'less desirable' plants on the outskirts of the fields?
      Completely switching crops is probably not an option.

    • @johnharder5618
      @johnharder5618 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@norwegiangadgetman That would be TOUGH
      As the fields are 200 to 400 acers , I farm 3000 acers
      The worst fields are the ones that border the creeks
      As I have CPR land there that has not been planted in 20 years
      So there is a area of trees that the wildlife thrives

    • @norwegiangadgetman
      @norwegiangadgetman ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@johnharder5618 Yeah, that might be a tad problematic. And a raccoon-proof fence to ring everything would be costlier and more flawed than the Great Wall of Trump. Wish I could have some good advice for you.

    I have ZERO sympathy or compassion for Raccoons/Wildlife that invade peoples property, but this one touched me. Moms face, while covering her babies, trying to keep them warm and safe was so heartwarming.

    Los seres humanos le hemos arrebatado casi todo el espacio a los animales y no ese mísero sitio les dejan, que tristeza, podrían haberle dejado criar ahí a sus bebés, no es ningún paraíso el mísero espacio en el que se refugió, pone en evidencia la escasa empatía y el egoísmo de los propietarios de la vivienda.

    That tuff looking patch of skin plus all the missing hair, does look like scabies, I have seen that on wild cats. Will you be bale to find out and assist her if she is in real health danger? I see she is people friendly, possibly a pet at some point before this. Sadly but it is true. If this is the case she may not have arranged a second location due to not being completely wild. The more I see her back the more I am convinced it is not healthy issue. It very much looks like mange.
