You can customize the difficulty, too...so, if you find normal too easy, just start a custom game and add/remove what you want. I love this feature. Personally, I put all the AI on Hard, remove the diamond that helps me aim, add wind and bullet drop, and keep everything else on normal/default. For me, this works great on a blind play through. Forces you to learn your rifle velocity and how to target distant enemies. Go to the shooting range to get a feel for your gun.

The thing I love about the sniper elite games is that it doesn't pride itself on having a good story, nor does it worry about having amazing graphics, it just focuses on being fun shit. A lot of games these days focus too much on story telling and graphics that the gameplay ends up being stale or just plain lacking. The most important element of a game is gameplay, story and graphics should always come second to that. That's why Doom was easily one of the best games in recent years because it focused on what matters most.
Same for Ace Combat games.

I was also initially a little disappointed at the weapon selection. Games like this one generally have dozens of cool firearms to choose from. However, the more I thought about it, the more I decided I liked their approach after all. See, the guns in the game, for the most part, are a guns you'd find on a European battlefield during WWII. There simply wouldn't have been a huge selection of rifles available.

I just picked this up the other day, I like it... I am on the 4th mission... Kind of feels like Metal Gear PP with the stealth and hitman with the gameplay, but it still has it's own style... Never played any of the previous games...This one is fun

u missunderstood, i have RE7 (platinum) and NIOH i am pllaying right now, i mean they gave RE7 a very low score and now they seem to be trying to make up for it...
NIOH desrves a perfect 10 and same goes for RE7 , these guys are assholes.....i still did not unpack sniper elite but i know it is great, fan since the ps2 days.

I took out a PS plus out after a year off to be able to play Gran Turismo sport online - I have the PC version of Sniper Elite so I was delighted to see it on my PS4 Pro + my 49 inch TV.. Looks fab and seems to be more fun on the PS4.
This game was way way way better then I thought it was going to be. The AI in the game is wild!

I downloaded it for PS Plus the other day and it's a really fun game.
I would really like a sniper elite in the early portion of the war in Iraq post 911 or during the gulf war. I would say Vietnam but I see a new influx of older era war games on the horizon.
A Gulf war 1990 edition would be epic. Or Vietnam! But with political correctness these days, you wont see this!

I think the last place for a ww2 setting would be in Japan. After that if there's a sniper elite 6 or something, it should be in the Korean War or Vietnam.

Here 2 years later lol (7 years late playing se4 lol) if you haven’t heard yet they are releasing a new sniper elite called resistance. Not sure it’s setting still have to look up more but it is a new character you are playing as in it.
I wish you could tag, but didnt have that red dot guide. Makes the game way to easy. If Im not mistaken, its either all or nothing. On 3, I did custom, but couldnt find a combo where I could tag, but couldnt NOT have the red dot.
So they spend the whole video praising the game, but end up giving it an 8.3? That makes no sense

I respect IGN but they do not cover voice acting,sound or music,and that is shame,because games are not just gameplay and graphic.So for those who want detail reviews go on ACG yt channel.He talk about games in depth,and got really good other content,like interviews with voice actors etc.
I really enjoy these games playing co op however would be more fun if you could snipe more than using your pistol all the time either out a silencer on it or do something let us snipe more

Like all Sniper Elite, play it only on the highest difficulty. Regular difficulty makes into a simple shooter.
would be awesome if this set in modern day, way cooler guns will boost the mood of any kind of gamers,from "just take a peek" to "dive deep dark down". and dont u guys think it is super boring just by hearing the title "Sniper Elite" not to mention the same timeline all 4 take place.

Typical IGN. Missing a point blank shot at 1:04 that they themselves set up.
So basically it's the same as the last one with different, more beautiful levels (that desert was so yellow and ugly). A shame there's only 8 levels though. I played SE3 so much now that i can finish the whole game in 3-4 hours with just my silenced gun. This won't be worth my money if there's just 8 levels and i don't care how huge they are. There's just no way this will give more than day's worth of gameplay. Maybe they'll do some DLC levels although i doubt it. Probably just gonna throw some overpowered weapons in there like they did with the previous game.
Hopefully next time we get at least 20 levels so it really feels like a huge game. A good game needs to feel like you're closing in on the ending but then it throws a twist in your face when you realize you're only on 50%....like castlevania symphony of the night when you get to the inverted castle :D Now that's a feeling that you never forget :P
But that's the beauty of games like these. It's that everytime you replay the game, there's almost always a new way to tackle the levels. A new order in which you can complete the objectives.
