  • A short video about an Anti aircraft gun emplacement that protected trafford park in Manchester from enemy attack during WW2.
There was also a prisoner of war camp here so a little bit on that.
    Please enjoy.

I remember the old concrete slabs there, I lived on kings way for a bit, I remember people saying the prisoners built a bit of the road there, the road used to be made of big concrete slabs, when I lived there there was no plaques or information at all, it’s nice it’s being remembered now.

There was also a barrage balloon site there also. The gun site was also attacked - a bomb fell on the bowling green of the nearby Nags Head Pub

Had some big guns right outside my house on the green, I'm in New ferry overlooking the Mersey, where they broke down the great eastern ship and the site of the old disease control unit and then the new ferry outdoor swimming baths , apparently the guns were manned by the polish here . Good spot for it but I just wonder where all the missed rounds would end up soon as they are pointed in your direction haha unless like you say they were flack guns. Great vid buddy , just subbed.
