This was great! I've used Unreal for years for making games but was curious about using it for video shots and this was a great explainer of how to use it.
My man, thank you for this super motivating video! One question: Do you ever use .mov instead of .png sequences? It takes me forever to export .png sequences from resolve so if possible I'd love to use the already keyed footage as a .mov
I find png to be the best other than exr I myself have never used mov but if you can get what you need out of it as far as quality do you feel me. It the reality is when dealing with this type of stuff rendering time is always something hard to get around if you want best quality.
Great content. Thank you for all you do. Please consider substantially lowering the background music volume. It would make your video more enjoyable. Cheers!
Hey bro, love the video! Ran into a new issue didn’t have prior. When playing through my sequencer, my img sequence is staying on the first frame and not playing through like it should. Do you know why? Thabks
Not sure really make sure you have emitting your sequencer but truthfully not sure what’s up. If you ever need a one on one consultation you can book a session on my website www.weshootfilms.com
bro i really like ur video, do u have an idea when i try to render the video putt in the software editing, ( then goes frames dropping ) do u have an idea how to fix?:(
What stuttering effect I have never seen any stutter. If it’s not playing back smooth either your computer can’t handle it or try importing a 1080p png sequence.
great tutorial. i bought same subway station project and followed it. the only issue i have is that keep getting weird glitches and some issues with blinking lights, and weird overlaying object's.. any idea what can cause these?
Hey bro I appreciate you for this tutorial I’ve been working with unreal for a couple of weeks but this helped a lot. I’m actually best friends with Rivas and he put me on to you. Definitely got yourself a subscriber.
Thank you very much for the content bro, I'm from Rio de Janeiro Brazil and I'm following! I would be very happy if you could clear up one of my doubts, when I add someone to my scenario in unreal, the person becomes super white and I can't make it darker so that they have a normal appearance like yours do.
Awesome. Would you be able to make one for the Video Shoot for the green Screen that you did for the video. It will help to connect from start to here. Many Thanks.
@@weshootfilms I meant you already have a Green Screen Processing video tutorial but the Camera Shoot of the music video with all the camera setting to suit the Unreal Pipeline will complete the process of understanding.
How did you get the lighting on the artist to match the unreal level though? It looks like the green screen footage you brought in was already perfect.
So when importing someone with loose hairs, is there a way in unreal engine to help define the hair edges? The girl I am editing has lots of strands, the key itself is perfect. I've put it against white backdrops etc in da vinci and the key is solid. Once imported into Unreal Engine and put on a plane, the hair edges look bad with clumps of black. Is there a way to soften or blur the edges or no?
Hey bro god bless, I did everything perfectly and got it dead on but on the sequencer I’m not getting any movement in my video. Do you know what the issue could be
Not really try. Re opening the sequence sometimes it gets stuck but truthfully it’s hard for me to figure out what’s going on on your end hope you figure it out.
@@weshootfilms I figured it out and it’s awesome, could you do a tutorial on how to add different camera angles and how to switch between to angles or camera focal lengths?
If you want shadows use masked but translucent will always give you better quality. I usually use masked for the wide angle shots but any close up or medium shots I use translucent.
When you drag the texture on the plane, it just creates the material automatically? I have to go into the material and switch it to masked and connect the alpha into the opacity mask.
Amazing tutorial, thank you! While referencing my png files via img media source, it appears that not all my png files are being read. As a result, a 2 min sequence is only read as a 15 sec sequence. Have you experienced this before?
When you say you render each scene individually, do you mean the entire performance scenes after you export the footage from another program after keying it?

Please whats the best focal length to shoot your green screen before importing to Ue
All depends on the type of shot if it’s a wide shot like a 12mm then use a 12mm in unreal. Whatever focal length you use also use it inside of unreal.
So when importing someone with loose hairs, is there a way in unreal engine to help define the hair edges? The girl I am editing has lots of strands, the key itself is perfect. If you want shadows use masked but translucent will always give you better quality. I usually use masked for the wide angle shots but any close up or medium shots I use translucent.
