@@TheNovaJohn That is really good advice. Step away, calm down, clear your head and come back to it with a new perspective not all stressed out. It works.
Replace float needle and rubber gasket on carb. Put all back together after lubing all the bolts, checked gap on magneto, fresh fuel, and no fuel leaks. Still won't start. Gonna check spark plug gap again, it's new. Haven't sharpened or replaced blade yet. Just want to get it running. Noodling around the snapper 1028, pulled the carb float bowl. Nasty smelling gas, tried to clean it and both seals are shot dry rot from fuel. Who ever had it last left it in disrepair for the next person. Missing screws, cover for starter, old tires, ones flat. Quite a bit just to see if it start/run. How do you do it so easily?

I do it with PAIN!!!! didja check compression!
