Although the practice problems are simple to follow and understand, I am still confused about this material. I will review Hess Law from top to bottom in order to understand this material. This is an error free video/lecture on TH-cam TV with the Organic Chemistry Tutor.
Think of Hess’s law as having multiple reactions that you can either flip divide by a coefficient or multiply by a coefficient to get your desired reaction

if you're more math oriented/have taken precalc, take a close look at this (and balancing equations, and redox, and so much other shit)...it's all linear algebra/matrix algebra/systems of linear equations. If you're good with matrices or want a more rigorous way to go about solving these, you can balance anything like this using matrices, row reduction, and finding the determinant. (figured that one out on my final by complete accident when I decided "fuck it". It worked.)
