This song fits Muelsyes so well. The lyrics are sad, but the overall tone is very happy and comforting. The juxtaposition perfectly fits her character; a normally bright and cheerful person with a tragic backstory
"I did not expect this genre." is something I keep repeating every time HG release a new Arknights song. It's to be expected at this point but I still get pleasantly surprised.
I love all these songs with such an upbeat tone but has such dark meaning when you get to know the characters(remember everything in arknights world is bittersweet XD)
I think that's the best way to describe Arknights on the whole. It's a world that always has tragedy, but has people trying their best to get through it and hoping the future will be brighter. And then it has people like Gavial's tribe and the Durins who are just happy to be alive and just want to have fun.
Something I liked about this song is that I came listening with no information on the character, and it's amazing how it gave me a whole different perspective of the said character. The character's an Elf, told as a being who lives a longer livespan than human, hence the song gives you the idea of how the character goes through the repetition of care, love, and departure. But without context on the character, it can be seen as a departed soul of a lover telling her living partner to "not let loneliness stop you from being kind". "Letting me go isn't the only answer/makes the world spins faster" may be "you don't have to forget all those beautiful things we've been through", "it's better to enjoy your life slowly and peacefully before we meet again". The song's a beautiful letter to send to the ones who had gone through hardship, personal sufferings, and losts, that they don't have to be that way, instead, cheerish the beauty life had given them, and move on with them as their late loved ones will always be waiting for them. Edit: Having played Lonetrail, this somehow aged better than before with what happened between Kristen and Muelseye during the event.
man, i love Adam Gubman so much too. at first it was baffling, why give "break-up song" to a cheerful sweet girl. and then i remember, she have live a long live, just how many break-up have she experienced.
If you like these kinds of calming songs with super nice lyrics, I'd recommend you to listen to Undertopia and Magic Theorem. Also, they're both composed by Adam Gubman.
If you know the backstory of this character the song doesn't become as catchy and becomes extremely sad In short, muelsyse is one of the olny remaining water elves on the planet she is on. She feels lonely because she usually outlives the people she befriends and takes care of, and despite being old, she still decides to make connections with others despite olny losing them in the end. It's honestly one of the olny songs aside from sentenced, which is for penance that made me cry a lot.
I've heard that she's actually really young (like barely in her thirties young), and her melancholy is stemming from the fact that her race is effectively dead and nobody else can understand her. E: I checked her profile and it explicitly states that she was less than thirty when she joined Rhine, which puts her at somewhere in her forties. Definitively not outliving any of the long-lived races of Terra.
Me firts time listening to this song... Hmm okay nothing to talk about Me the next day _OH LETTING ME GO ISN'T THE ONLY ANSWER_ This song living rent free in my head now
This song has so much stark contrast when compared to something like Awaken, also by Adam Gubman, because that song was really complex imo. From composition to the writing of the lyrics. Morning Dew feels simpler, cozier. It's really easy to understand the base message of the song but it has just as much depth and richness as Awaken in terms of the lyrics again. That's why Adam Gubman is the absolute goat of AK composers. I'm still putting DJ OKAWARI on par with him though, even if he has done less work for Arknights compared to Adam.
arknights has manga as well that has this character in it if you want to see her be herself its called rhodes island records of originium: rhine lab great read and you dont need to know anything about arknights going in to enjoy it.. i actually read it before i knew arknights existed and i had a great time
This and Dorothy's theme(magic theorem) really surprised me with how upbeat(or maybe emotional?) they are, especially considering the characters are both basically researchers.
Listening to this Arknights song make me respect Hoyoverse more cause they not halfassed make a song just to make a song, they make a song that fit the characters perfectly. The real music company
@@jamalyudarmawan9377 i get that music is subjective but this song sounds good tho? It fits the character and her story, and everyone's having fun. Can't we all just appreciate each others music because both are art 😄

Agree with that perception of the song. Feel the same when reading the lyrics.

Definitely emotional. Or upbeat tragedy I guess.
it sounds super upbeat but if you pay attention to the lyrics it’s pretty sad, and if you know the backstory for mumu it’s gut wrenching…
