When i joined for Research in 1984 in physics, govt introduced ugc exam, i could not succeded, the reason is even small basic things were not tought properly also my poor undersatant in general/English.i like universites must understand the what to be taught at basic level. I hope what ever you prepared not taught in regular classes but they are basic and essential. Best wishess.

Understand the pattern, syllabus, and marking scheme.
Create a timetable covering all subjects,Gather quality study material. Solve previous papers and sample tests regularly. Focus on understanding concepts rather than memorization. Take mock tests to assess and improve performance. Regularly revise topics and make concise notes.
