Back in military fire fighting school we used AFFF (aqueous film forming foam) for these types of fires and I believe they still use the same kind of product . That flight crew did an amazing job.. that's alot of people evacuated in a very short time.. great video
After watching Mayday Air Disaster and Mentor Pilot, I have been a much more diligent flyer and have SO much more respect for the whole process and everyone in charge. And knowing that every little thing came from loss of life to get there... it's much more than just an inconvenience. Thanks for your content!
I completely agree about the Japanese culture having played a role in the efficiency of the emergency procedure. Just before that's mentioned, I was imagining one or more "Foodie Beauties"in the back in the plane and her 400lb + size nd the possible implications that might have had in such a scenario. Or even a group of more elderly or handicapped passengers for that matter. Thanks Jen for providing insight to these type of situations because I believe most people tend to underestimate the level of danger a plane on the ground presents. Seeing that plane go up in flames like that is terrifying and those flight attendants are worth their weight in gold for their incredible effort to see all 379 passengers to safety. So sad those heroes who died on the coastguard plane, on their way to help the rescue effort in the earthquake region 💜
