- Travis Stevens is an Olympic Judoka and BJJ black belt under John Danaher who came away with a silver medal in the 2016 Olympic games. He stopped by Saulo and Xande Ribeiro's University of Jiu Jitsu in order to train with some of his best students and ended up taking on several of them one after the other in Randori.

Saulo always had very good Judo himself, so his students are no joke at stand up. Which makes this even more impressive.
Absolutely, Saulo and Stevens have trained together many times too!

Saulo started out in judo
They're a joke compared to an elite judoka
@@scarred10 Steven himself is an elite Judoka btw.
I’ve heard saulos students as a hole are very good in the stand up…..maybe not necessarily Olympic judo or wrestling caliber but its pretty elite for Bjj standards
Thank you for this judo master class vs bjj master class. Wish i see other masters of disciplines like Tai Chi, Kung Jao, Greco roman ect do the same vs BJJ athletes.
He is Olympic judoka , it’s not even different level it’s different universe
Best of the best
The guy who stepped on the mat at 4:40 did pretty well. Great job mate.
Might be harder for the BJJs guys to notice but almost each time he throws, he's doing a different throw. i think at least 6 or 7 different throws there
He did a couple Ippon Seos, couple Osoto Garis, some uchimatas. Travis is good af. Pretty sweet Harai Goshi. Judo is fun.
I like how he finishes every single throw with a front flip 😅
This was amazing OSSS
He’s so good at that ippon and he’s also just so strong and fast powerful that it makes it very hard to defend against him.
He’s the kinda guy that could say I’m going to throw you with an ippon seoi nage on the right side and there’s nothing you can do about it, and then he’ll throw you with it lol
Travis Stevens is no slouch when it comes to BJJ either.
He’s a John Danaher black belt, IIRC.
Just launching black belts for 7 minutes. Crazy.
Not just that, but barely breaking a sweat doing it.

@Surferdude Tje Oh wow. They could also stay home on their couch or start sprinting away.
BJJ black belts that have poor grip fighting and stand up game.
@Surferdude Tje what judo fun is over. You have anything against judo I see? If a judoka don't play with the bjj guy's game pulling guard what can the bjj guy do? He stand up again and will get tossed like a ragdoll. I train judo so I knew what I was talking about. Unlike you sitting your ass in front of a computer and start acting like an expert? What's next? Are you going to claim you're 7th dan judo blackbelt? Or a bjj brown belt that demolished many judokas in your academy?
@@joselukithat’s the overwhelming majority of bjj black belts

He's not even trying... 😮
This was done at the very end of all those guys rolling for probably however many 10min rounds for about an hour, and just for a goof at the end they all decided to try and ride the bull with the Olympic Judoka
Linford Christie wins 15 races in a row against amateur sprinters is what I just read.
I would love to see travis stevens in the ufc. The man is a grabbling machine. I'm %100 % sure that with his Insane discipline and competitive nature he will be as great with striking
He would’ve been excellent, but probably can’t make the weight he originally made (81 kg)
no gi in MMA WAYY different
6:55 steven slammed his head onto the ground damn. think he was tired cuz he went so many rounds
Yeah geez I bet that rattled him. That would be a big problem on concrete. One of the dangers of drop knee techniques?
That guy in particular had earlier avoided one of the drops too, by freeing his hands quickly enough. Idk how he does it, when I try it feels impossible
The first BB should of secured his GI properly not have it loose.
Was this judo rules? Were they allowed to grab the legs?
They were allowed to grab legs
They grabbed legs as you could see. The people want to see the throws not zzzzrestling. Sorry I blacked out for a second.
It's a shame to see BJJ black belts having no skill standing up throwing. Time and time again I seen this since BJJ started. They depend on that single and double leg football sloppy tackle. My opinion but true.
They bent over to much in the front. Puts their balance off. That's why he is hitting those uci mata. They playing Judo they should stand up straight always.
Lmao yeah they have JIU JITSU bb and they don't know how to punch or kick someone, it's almost like it's a different sport
@@isidorocanones2954BJJ is just cut down judo
Travis came to my school and threw all the high level Judo black belts... this man is an absolute monster and until you see him work in real life, I'm not sure you can appreciate the skill and power of Travis. Trust me, there's black belts and then there's TRAVIS STEVENS BLACK BELT
@@michaelbednarz1742Being bent over in a wrestling stance doesn’t off balance you as much as people like to say. When you can attack the legs a small bend over can be good. I do agree with you tho.
These are hobbyist BJJ guys and the guy at 5:00-6:00 minute mark is doing great against a USA judo national champion
How do you know they’re hobbyists?
