I have one of these. Mine is a 2009 model, in Olive Green. 2009 was the last year for the 2 stroke. I bought it new, and it now has just over 16K miles on it. I removed the "diaper", the spare tire cover, replaced the exhaust with a Sito+ "non catalytic exhaust", rejetted the carb, It's on its third set of tires. The Stella badges fell off, I left them off. Never had any problems with it at all. When the engine finally does wear out, a local vintage Vespa shop is going to build me a higher quality engine with some aftermarket parts. The Stella frame is actually made out of thicker steel than a real Vespa. On the way home for the dealer, I did my first wheelie on a scooter. I weight 240, plus the engine and gas tank are in the back, making for a very light front end. I released the clutch too fast, and suddenly found myself looking at the sky.
I’m very happy you posted this and the tune up video. I now own a Stella as of February. Though, It needs a bunch of tune up due to it previous position in my coworker’s mother’s back yard. we got a new key and battery. thankfully, the electrical system is in tact and it ran a couple times for a few seconds. we’re figuring things out, but. thank you, thank you. you’ve been a big help.
Every time one of these comes up for sale, it's either way too expensive or I had just bought some other toy, lol. I'll have one someday. Even if they aren't true Vespas they still look great and the build quality is there.
I’m in the uk. I didn’t get into scooters till my early fifties, I’ve grown up round them and can even remember the mods and rockers fighting in Skegness a coastal resort on the east coast of the uk back in the 60s, then the scooter revival of the mid to late 80s. But remained a biker. I had a Lambretta gp200 about 2012. Enjoyed that and got into the current scooter scene. I now have a 1995 Vespa px200 efl and I’m on my second Vespa GTS 300ievsuper I didn’t wreck my other gts 300 I had. No, I just thought I needed another bike! Why.? I don’t know, I think I made a mistake selling it. But now I’ve done something I have never done before, I’ve bought the same vehicle twice. It must say something... they are great fun and reliable relaxing fun vehicles to ride. Get one and see xxx lots of love from Dave in the uk x
The classic fighting ground for Mods vs Rockers in the 60s was Brighton beach, where they still decent to, preserving the tradition, on Easter Mondays. The popular scooter in the UK in those days was the Lamdretta rather than the Vespa because a greater model variety was available in Lambro compared to the pretty standard Vespa GS made in the UK under license by the Douglas motorcycle co
Lol I’m from up norf bud. And I’m simply talking about my memories, yes Brighton was the setting for a big movie but it’s not in my memory cos I’ve never been there. I wasn’t giving an history lesson just remembering my past is all. These chaps at scooter west have heard it all before I’m guessing. Happy scootering to all. And here’s to making some more new friends in 2019
I spent time in the North West of England as well as in the Thames Valley area. It is like 2 different worlds. I guess the Southern coastal towns (Brighton, Margate) were the scene for Mods / Rockers living around that area
Excellent content! I have a silver one that was made in April of 2003... These are excellent scooters and last a long time, if properly cared for... Never had any problems with mine and starts easy... These Stellas seem easier to ride compared to my two '64 Vespas... Thanks for the video...
But during the Winter it stopped running after going a ways and not restarting later a while after checking things or pushing it home or the next day or month. I’m afraid to go anywhere until I take it into the PX Guru.
Nice Classic Stella, i looking ti buy one Piaggio or LML Vespa. SAVA tyres also made lots tyres for Scooters here in Europe, SAVA Factory is in Slovenia in this Country is Akrapović also... Greetings From Croatia and keep great work on! 😎👍
Just bcs it is from the same country doesn't mean they are good tyres..😀 but they did make really good tyres back in ~2005, for scooters atleast.. no idea what they are making now. hello from Slovenia🥸😁
Wish LML hadn't added the turn signal 'chime'. My 2009 'belladonna' has it, and i haven't gotten around to removing it, but did wrap it in tape to muffle the noise to a barely audible 'chirp'.
I just bought an 09 model and I'm trying to learn a bit about these as they were not sold in California. Hope to be able to register it, find an owners manual, learn to maintain it.
13:34 For a long time I thought too, that the locking cowls came with the Lusso in 1984. Meanwhile I know that they came in 1982 with the second series of the P200E, P80X (Germany), P125X and P150X. The second series also came with the new 20 mm axle at the front wheel. I whould call those scooters transition model between PX old and PX Lusso. Again nice video. Liked.
Very cool review 👍 I still have my PX200 I bought new in Jan2000 - commuted to work every day and will do until April when London legislation that bans it from the city kicks in ☹️ BTW 14:57 the tyres aren’t tubeless 😉
80's mullet - I’m going to hang on to it for a while, as I’m quite attached to it, and use it occasionally outside the zone. I may even pay the £12.50 once in while in the summer, but yes, in reality I should have to sell it ☹️
Just got an 08 Stella 150 2t on a deal. I went to take it for a test drive and didn't secure the side panel well enough and it fell off 😅. "Guess I just bought this scooter." 😂
In the US, these bikes were badged as the Stella. I'm assuming the LML star deluxe is the 4 stroke version? If so, the body is generally identical but with a completely different, 4 stoke motor with CVT transmission.
I just picked up a 2009 with a blown engine. We will be using the scooter for a while as a display in my church (for a missionary who uses one in SE Asia for giving coffee away) but eventually I'll get it back on the road. Do you every sell complete 150 2t engines that might work in this?

That's awesome, glad we could help out. Good luck with your project!

Thanks for doing this series on the Stella! I have a 2003 and am actively working on it.
I want to bye it

Thank you Robot for convincing me to buy the 2005 Stella that found me yesterday. You’re right, they are very cool, Vini
My Stella even had the touch up paint and tools in the glove box : )
But during the Winter it stopped running after going a ways and not restarting later a while after checking things or pushing it home or the next day or month. I’m afraid to go anywhere until I take it into the PX Guru.

I have a 2005 Stella 2T that needs a new clutch assembly. Any idea which one I should get since LML is no longer in operation?
from what I hear vespa parts are pretty interchangable
I am a little late but I am watching videos while on lockdown. What did you use to clean off the cosmoline off the wheel? Love your videos!

Will you have to sell your scooter when the new ULEZ comes into force?

Hey there, I have question:
I just recently lost the key to my 2003 Stella. Any idea how I can replace it or just start it?
I could have had a Stella in a box, for $200, but I passed on it. Wish I hadn't.
How much would a mint 2007 with 120 miles on it go for?
Dope
sir what grade engine oil we use in 2 strock 150 cc 6 volt scooter
This scooter it's Soo good...n very nice I like it mine 🤗👍
Robots find such analog things confusing somethings. He’s quite advanced. 🤖
Had one new put new crank and bearings in it would leave a standard px for dust
Just got an 08 Stella 150 2t on a deal. I went to take it for a test drive and didn't secure the side panel well enough and it fell off 😅.

Nice jersey !
This a great video series on the 2003 Stella model. Very helpful. Do you know where I can find the paint for it? Mine is the same green. Thanks
You can take a painted piece to any auto paint shop and they should be able to color match and mix it for you.
Hi what’s the difference between the 2 stroke geared lml star and lml star deluxe
In the US, these bikes were badged as the Stella. I'm assuming the LML star deluxe is the 4 stroke version? If so, the body is generally identical but with a completely different, 4 stoke motor with CVT transmission.
Vespa Motorsport ok cheers it just that I have an lml star deluxe with a 2 stroke reed valve engine just didn’t know what the difference is 👍
