The Lore was also really good. All of the Lore and story that's come with Beyond Light is some of the best Destiny has had since Book or Sorrow. But yea really for me, just the activity. I've even liked the weapons with BL and a couple of the weapons from the activity but the activity itself, meh.

I felt like I was going crazy with this because no one else is saying anything about it. Like do you know how much better the seasonal story content would be if it was experienced IN GAME. Bungie was (and still is) so insecure about their product that they had to give away the Crow reveal just to generate hype for season 12.

I took a year off from Destiny 2 and decided to pick it back up in the middle of this season. I had a pretty great time. The new stasis artifacts and different mods and combos are a blast to play with(I'm looking at you "Warmind Cell). But now that I'm caught up again, my fun may start dwindling if there isn't a lot to do with this new season.

I really didn’t play much after thanksgiving, like completely fell off. It was boring and there was little interesting things to do and even the raid got a little dull early because I learned all of the parts within my first 5 runs and there was no longer a challenge. And then ofc my main activity crucible was a joke
Yeah the raid is still fun if you have a good group(just like literally any activity in the game) but once you know all the encounters is not as fun as usual. If they gave us an optional challenge mode it would make it so much more enjoyable imo

Imo, stasis is absolutely perfect in pve as it is. Feels great to trap enemies in crystal, then shatter it all for massive damage. In pvp, it definitely needs work. Would like it if no ability instantly froze, and instead added stacks of "frost" or something similar, and only froze when you reach 10 stacks of frost

I’ve been a Destiny fan since the Dark Below and played off and off again until after Forsaken. Season isnt even worth to be called a season. There was no real content on this "season" outside the Beyond light expansion. The story? Actually quite good. Crow's storyline + Xivu + all the new lore bits were extremely good, i was impressed.
rift in d1 was fantastic. as someone who was garbage at pvp in d1 it’s a fantastic casual pvp and my personal favorite. u can be shit with your gun but still play to win and help. i have no idea why they dropped it.

"Where is Rift?" THANK YOU. I've been going back and watching old TTK prerelease footage of Rift and man almost forgot how much I love that gamemode, I think it was my most played PvP gamemode from the launch of TTK onward.
There was a bug, where when you join the fireteam in the mission, you have to res, it glitched and said “finding spawn location” and never respawned, when me and my friend finished, he got the triumph where it said he finished flawlessly.
People need to get more comfortable with hopping off the hamster wheel from time to time. Season of the Chosen is the first time I've refused to pre-purchase. I'm waiting for actual feedback before committing anymore.
Same this is the first year I didn't buy the deluxe expansion because I knew I wasn't gonna play the other seasons unless I know they're worth it. Felt great actually
I farmed the celebrant mission trying for the exotic ship to no avail. After 5 attempts per character I was just physically unable to slog through another hunt. The whole "slow down and dont do much dmg" thing really really hurt any fun they couldve had.

jeez, watching this vid after over 3 years not playing destiny what stood out most to me is i'm not seeing any maps i haven't played with the exception of the harbinger map.

It was pretty back loaded, with two repeatable story missions, one of which is a mini-dungeon, showing up in the last half of the season. I wonder if they kind of did a muted, low-key season so people also had time to play through Beyond Light in the first few months as well.
(Commenting before watching) It was fun, for the most part, it a bit shallow. But I'm presuming the lack of content was because this season came out with BL, like Undying and Shadowkeep. Still hyped for next season.
Dude same thing for me, that was a sad moment when I couldn't get myself to take an hour to turn those in for legendary shards. And I actually played a lot this season (3 new seals) but I just don't see destiny getting better cuz it's progressively gotten worse and worse
It's possible to get 6 lure charges just by socketing a single mod in the lure and nothing else for example say you had 3/5 charges then you put the enemy you want to hunt and it goes down to 2/5 letting you get 1 more charge

They already have sunset raids..... leviathan, eater of worlds, spire of stars, scourge of the past, crown of sorrows all sunset so yes they could sunset more raids in the future but i doubt it'll be anytime soon since the moon is getting more content
Doesn’t matter if titans can slide when warlocks and hunters can freeze you with their melee. Sliding is useless, especially when hunters can stomp you with their ice grenade, in an instance. Also, the Titan melee doesn’t connect yet hunter stars are incredibly accurate.

I didnt have an issue with the hunts, because I've actually been engaged with the Crucible due to Hawkmoon, and moving older weapons out of the meta. Also, 110s becoming 120s.
One time I died 5 times in a row because I kept getting spawn trapped by a trio of beyond light freezers . I literally stopped playing for a while. I only came back to finish the Hawkmoon quest.
I didn’t expect Season 12 to have a lot of content because of Beyond Light, and maybe the pandemic happening around. I was just excited for Season 12 because of narrative and the return of Uldren Sov aka The Crow!
Regarding story, I understand that we're eager to see what happens when Crow is exposed to the wider Tower community, but it's important to take a moment with him at this early stage. Similar to what they did with Eris and Drifter during Arrivals, I think that Bungie did an excellent job of creating a ton of dialogue for Crow (and Glint, Osiris, Spider, and Ghost), developing him as a character while also tapping into Destiny's history for an endless stream of delicious ironies.
Reading the comments, I'm glad it's not just me that didn't do much of the season contents. I did Beyond light campaign, got a few stasis upgrades, small bit of pvp, and that was kind of it. Didn't even start the hunt missions, or hawk moon, or adored or anything. Never visited spider or crow either.. I dunno, I just wasn't that bothered to do it :/ But if all this is staying around for the year then I can still give it a try

THANK YOU. I've been going back and watching old TTK prerelease footage of Rift and man almost forgot how much I love that gamemode, I think it was my most played PvP gamemode from the launch of TTK onward.

There was a bug, where when you join the fireteam in the mission, you have to res, it glitched and said “finding spawn location” and never respawned, when me and my friend finished, he got the triumph where it said he finished flawlessly.
People need to get more comfortable with hopping off the hamster wheel from time to time. Season of the Chosen is the first time I've refused to pre-purchase. I'm waiting for actual feedback before committing anymore.

Crap i just realized the Season ends tomorrow. I gotta wake up early to finish my bounties.
I farmed the celebrant mission trying for the exotic ship to no avail. After 5 attempts per character I was just physically unable to slog through another hunt. The whole "slow down and dont do much dmg" thing really really hurt any fun they couldve had.

Devils advocate, its either seasons like this having nothing worth doing or straight up have nothing to do between yearly expansions like D1.

@@multiumbreon7 if destiny had a good loot system, skill system, mod system, build system anything really destiny would be able to be played for awhile especially with d2 haveing 3 major expansions already without new content, but the latest expansion decided to get rid of content bungie was retard enough to let die instead of making it useful in the future.

Let’s all take a minute and be thankful for the good things we have like not being dead from covid, a roof over our heads, a loved one , family and friends and some new content from destiny that we already know what to expect and it will be fun for a few weeks for a lot of us . Months and years .....game is still fun when there’s new content for me .

Funny story... I thought 'Season of the Hunt' was referring to Empire Hunts on Europa until I watched a TH-cam video a few weeks into the season.
Hawkmoon mission really saved this season for me. Difficulty reminds me of old days of D1 nightfalls. Was really fun being able to clear it solo.
Do you think we're at the point where we have too many exotics? because it certainly feels like it
i think as long as bungie is able to continue to make unique exotic experiences, i'll be cool with how many we have, although it can certainly feel overwhelming to have the amount that we do
It was pretty back loaded, with two repeatable story missions, one of which is a mini-dungeon, showing up in the last half of the season. I wonder if they kind of did a muted, low-key season so people also had time to play through Beyond Light in the first few months as well.
Story was great, Hunts sucked, Harbinger mission and Hawkmoon was cool, loot was bad outside of the new Wave frame GL.
The SMG was good, but the scout is incredible on console

It was fun, for the most part, it a bit shallow. But I'm presuming the lack of content was because this season came out with BL, like Undying and Shadowkeep. Still hyped for next season.
I didn’t even know what tier two hunts were until I tried to do that one triumph
I lasted not even 3 weeks and haven't touched it since - couldn't even be bothered turning in my crucible tokens as I cant see a future in this game.
Dude same thing for me, that was a sad moment when I couldn't get myself to take an hour to turn those in for legendary shards. And I actually played a lot this season (3 new seals) but I just don't see destiny getting better cuz it's progressively gotten worse and worse

It's possible to get 6 lure charges just by socketing a single mod in the lure and nothing else for example say you had 3/5 charges then you put the enemy you want to hunt and it goes down to 2/5 letting you get 1 more charge

and was wondering if you thought there were any Legendary Weapons worth picking up even though they are sunset?
Season 8 wasn't great either. They are just carried by the expansion. But this time we had to buy it.

They already have sunset raids..... leviathan, eater of worlds, spire of stars, scourge of the past, crown of sorrows all sunset so yes they could sunset more raids in the future but i doubt it'll be anytime soon since the moon is getting more content

Did you not include the Hawkmoon mission as part of the story of the season? Also I had no idea there were Tier 2 options for hunts.
This season was crap.
Doesn’t matter if titans can slide when warlocks and hunters can freeze you with their melee. Sliding is useless, especially when hunters can stomp you with their ice grenade, in an instance. Also, the Titan melee doesn’t connect yet hunter stars are incredibly accurate.
Ever since the Activision split this game has been in steady decline and bungie is just slowly putting it to bed.

I didnt have an issue with the hunts, because I've actually been engaged with the Crucible due to Hawkmoon, and moving older weapons out of the meta. Also, 110s becoming 120s.
One time I died 5 times in a row because I kept getting spawn trapped by a trio of beyond light freezers . I literally stopped playing for a while. I only came back to finish the Hawkmoon quest.
I didn’t expect Season 12 to have a lot of content because of Beyond Light, and maybe the pandemic happening around. I was just excited for Season 12 because of narrative and the return of Uldren Sov aka The Crow!
Regarding story, I understand that we're eager to see what happens when Crow is exposed to the wider Tower community, but it's important to take a moment with him at this early stage. Similar to what they did with Eris and Drifter during Arrivals, I think that Bungie did an excellent job of creating a ton of dialogue for Crow (and Glint, Osiris, Spider, and Ghost), developing him as a character while also tapping into Destiny's history for an endless stream of delicious ironies.
I think the sandbox is pretty good. A few guns are above the rest, but many different types of guns are viable, which is nice.

Reading the comments, I'm glad it's not just me that didn't do much of the season contents. I did Beyond light campaign, got a few stasis upgrades, small bit of pvp, and that was kind of it. Didn't even start the hunt missions, or hawk moon, or adored or anything. Never visited spider or crow either.. I dunno, I just wasn't that bothered to do it :/
But if all this is staying around for the year then I can still give it a try
