- A helmet is a helmet. Right? Well, not exactly. There's a lot that needs to go right for a helmet to work, and unfortunately the Bontrager Specter WaveCel gets most of that wrong.

Are you sure the helmet isn't too small? The helmet seems to be sitting pretty high on your head.
I purchased the same helmet in medium, and the helmet sat pretty high on my head (typical "mushroom head"), and it was tight and uncomfortable.
I exchanged the medium for the large; the helmet sat much better and felt quite comfortable.
But I commend you on giving an honest review! (not typical of other youtubers).
Thanks! Yep. It fits fine. Since I started using it when riding the fat bike, it stopped causing issues. I think it is the extra weight pulling down on my neck that was causing it when I ride aero/flat (another commenter suggested I should test that, they were right). The upright position puts the weight on my shoulders instead, no more headaches.

The issue with holding sunglasses is real and the Wavecel material makes scratching your head an issue when it's itchy! I think the magnetic clasp is a gimmick and the straps on mine are pretty slippery so I constantly have to pull them to tighten them up. The helmet is comfortable though. I haven't noticed any issues with the weight. Great review!
Yes! The itchy head is a legit problem :). Another commenter pointed out that comfort thing might be the way I ride, and they were right. I now use this helmet exclusively when I fat bike because the position is much more upright. Headache gone!
