Detangler # TLC = a long, flowing tail that passes the "pink comb test"!
Cowboy Magic and Mane 'n Tail are both good products. Majority of the work is done by hand, comb is just used for final touch up and the "test".

Full disclosure - horse getting the "pink comb treatment" is mine, I agree with you that I would be more cautious with a horse I didn't know.
