  • In this video, we're going to be practising winter solstice qigong in Okinawa Japan. This qigong is specifically designed to increase longevity and health.
    This is a special qigong class designed to help you stay healthy and refreshed during the winter season. We'll be practising qigong in the cold weather to improve our circulation and promote better kidney and lower dantian health. This is a great class for people of all ages, whether you're looking to stay healthy and energized in the cold weather or simply to enjoy some beautiful qigong in a special location.

    The five seasons, in eastern medicine, correspond to the 5 elements.
    Water = Winter
    Wood = Spring
    Fire = Summer
    Earth = Late Summer
    Metal = Autumn
    Each element represents a phase of life energy, and thus a part our physical, emotional, and spiritual well being. In winter, we have a tendency to draw inwards; Into our homes, our family's, and ourselves. This drawing inwards is a quality symbolized by Water in Qigong.
    The ancient masters mapped regions of the body that seemed to channel these different phases of energy. In the case of this "water" type Chi, they saw that the lower back, knees, pelvis, ball of the foot, kidneys, adrenal glands, ears, and bladder, are all connected by a synchronicity of energy. The Kidneys in particular are used to summarize this organic grouping of traits. When we help this energy to accumulate and flow properly, it restores health to all these areas of the body, as well as giving us the psychological gifts of Water as well: Inner peace, stillness, willpower, and wisdom.
    You can practice this routine throughout the wintertime to warm the body through igniting the Kidney Yang, or you can do it anytime you feel you would benefit from cultivating this element.
    As a bonus, the Water Phase is relevant to our longevity, so I hope you enjoy the scenery of the tropical Japanese island of longevity, Okinawa :)

    I’m dovetailing on the comments below-this is an excellent video to practice for the winter months. Thank you for the thorough explanations of the how the water element affects the kidneys and bladder and especially incorporating the bear qigong for winter. I will continue to watch and refine these postures; after almost a year of total knee replacement surgery this is further helping my recovery! I’d also like to share a couple of the simpler postures with my students.

    Dear Nick, thank you so very much for this insatiably stunningly beautiful and fulfilling routine! 🥹💫🤍
    You're different, Nick. There's something very powerful about your routines! I have followed many monks and teachers thus far and at first I doubted your abilities just because you're a white man and I am a descendant of Taoist High Priests in China. But I have to tell you that of all the routines I have done, yours truly contains a tangible, mystical power that should not be underestimated!
    I can also see entities in every video that you post! You're always accompanied by entities, I can see them, and I don't see them in other videos of other teachers!
    You're more than a Qi Gong teacher; you're a Shaman! 💫🪽🤍
    Thank you so much for this magnificent and glorious work that you are doing in this world right now, I am happy to share this planet with you!
    And now I have a watery blue marble filled with Moon Cream in my Tan Tien thanks to you! 😄🫧💧🪸
