Flying to the most beautiful beach in BC.

  • By car it would have taken a weekend, expensive ferries, and an overnight hotel. With our little plane it was a scenic day trip with over 3 hours playing in the shallow sands of Parksville/Qualicum.

    Great video, captures the highlights of the trip nicely. Question: how long did you have to wait for the taxi from the airport? At Sechelt in July 2022 we waited over 40 minutes - but that's a lot further from the airport than Qualicum Beach, I think. I'll subscribe now :-)

      At Qualicum we usually get our taxi from the airport in about 20 minutes … because it’s earlier in the day. Coming back from the beach - later in the afternoon - is usually 40 minutes to an hour. We’ve had similar delays in Seachelt and other communities around BC. These smaller communities are having trouble staffing their taxi services and are unwilling to allow Uber or Lyft in to take some of the load … so long delays are pretty common.
