Finally found a budget video that’s around the same income as mine. Helpful 👍🏼
Thank you for being so open with your budget. We have a similar income so it's nice to see someone in a somewhat similar situation as myself organize their bills and finances.
Lmao that planner doesn’t fit in my budget
Do you know where I can find this planner?
@@ruxz-ujdkr try hobby lobby
@@OlaloTaínoTarot Thank you love! I found it at Joann for $14.95 I ordered online. No more in store.
Khalia Ravi you can find really great planners on amazon that are cheap
@@ruxz-ujdkr what planner is this exactly? Love the budgetting pages
You go girl. I never thought of keeping spending money to 60 bucks a month. That is a real challenge.
This is the clearest budgeting video I've ever seen on TH-cam. ..and I've seen hundreds...no silly stickers etc x
Im mainly a sticker girl but Im happy you enjoyed the video
I appreciate your transparency. Most budget people I watch bring in 8k plus income monthly and I can’t relate to that.
Have you ever considered consolidating your credit card debt to hv one monthly payment?
Evetta I went with my credit union because they had the best rate. I think it’s 8.75%.
@@EvettaMadeIt I got a consolidation loan and it was such a relief not having to keep track of all the payments. I will say though, paying it off has been discouring just because it's such a large amount. We started at $23k and have about $12k left and even though we've paid off like half it feels so demotivating because it's taking so long. Just something to keep in mind, spiritually it's hard 🙅♂️
She's not doing any Dave Ramsey...wheres the rice and beans? Shes not delivering pizza 😋😋😋
@@twincherry4958 she's doing ish. Dave-ish. 🤣🤣
shoot mine budget and cash envelopes are super skimpy. Until I pay off more debt I will be able to add more cash to my cash envelopes.
since starting a zero based budget i have been able to recover from a shopping addiction and lazy spendings! I will never go back!💰
i love how you use this binder!
if you don’t mind me asking, how much do you allocate for yourself after budgeting the bills/expenses?
@@tatianabritton6258 I have a few categories that are my spendings but it about $30 a fortnight! I have my personal breakdown on my channel also ☺️
I haven't had cable now for the pass 3 years & I don't miss it at all.
The fact that you help out your mom... My heart! You seem like such a sweet, genuine and caring person 💕
It is so helpful seeing a budget video with a similar income to mine, I've watched so many where their monthly income starts at 10k or so, and that is just not relatable to my situation so it is hard to follow their budgeting guidelines without feeling overwhelmed or disadvantaged. Loved this!
Glad to be related! This is the sole reason why I continue to budget for you guys!
That first page of debt land is awesome! Love seeing people who hate debt and are intentional about getting free! Keep up the great work.
Reminds me I should do an updated fill in :)!
Lord please let me never have this much debt.
Agreed!
"I am not into that card anymore.... this card irritates me" hahaha I FELT THAT 💛
Thank you so much!
For years we lived on 1 monthly check so I've always done bills in one day. (Most are automatic, really!)
I've been watching people do their budgets 1 check at a time, not 1 month at a time. We now have 4 checks a month with SS and other items. I've been trying to do each check separate. One is the first of the month, one is every other week. (I think we get three of those this month!) And the last is the 3rd Wednesday of the month. I'm going to do it your way. SSI much simpler!
Multiple streams of income is the key. Wish someone would have drilled that into because I have absolutely no skills except for the ones on my job😂
Honestly same! I would have never thought I would be here making different streams of income if it wasn’t for this journey. You guys are and will always be the reason to my success
I love how you wrote it out! I finally can see it all so well and it very pleasing to the eye ❤️❤️❤️
hey all, this is a VERY important tip for anybody making a budget:
a quick note that 4 weeks does not equal a month (as much as companies that charge you every 4 weeks would want you to believe).
there are 13 x 4 week cycles in the year
but there's only 12 months
just saying this because you mentioned you get groceries 2 x every 4 weeks, but you'll end up 160 over budget on groceries alone at the end of the year if you keep doing your calculations like that, because you will have spent 160 dollars on groceries 13 times (every four weeks) rather than 12 times (every month)
it'll be the same for everything else you write down and plan on a monthly basis, but actually calculate it on a 4 week basis.
just thought you'd know, as the more things you calculate on a 4 week basis, the more it throws your money off.
the difference between 12 and 13 is like 8%ish, so that's how much more you will be spending (over the course of a year) on things than you budget for in the 4 week calculations
For gas for my car, I only do $32 a month. I am super lucky that I live super close to work, and my car gets 30 to 40 miles per gallon.
😱 I wish!
You are making such good progress, its nice to see how you break down your monthly income (especially in the USA because im from the UK so things are a little different - no health insurance but lower monthly take home income due to higher taxes).
Everytime I am tempted to take out a credit card to pay for something, I always think back to these videos and remind myself of how its better to save up than accrue debt that needs to be paid off.
Natalie Muskett it’s ok to take out a card to buy something big if you already have the money. It helps your credit to open an account then pay it off. It’s the revolving debt that gets you caught up.
Thank you so much. I’ve been looking at budget apps, books, articles, and finally TH-cam for the past 2 days .
Trying to grasp the concept of setting up a budget and you explained it so beautifully, so easy to understand. Xxxx
Apps
i remember when u were budgeting in that yellow legal pad, oh how the times have changed...
You're so organized! I need to get on your level!
That's....almost like living paycheck-to-paycheck.
I mean it is.. she has so much debt
Most of the country does that, buddy. 😒
@@Grimm_Book And you guys don't think that's a major problem?
@@kareberntsen7834 LOL!! How does finding the way people live paycheck to paycheck being a problem has ANYTHING to do with socialism or any kind of political ideology at all? I do apologize if I hurt your feelings for stating what is meant to be common sense but I tend to forget from time to time that 99% of the population lacks it.
@@kareberntsen7834 literally who said anything about socialism?? They said it's not good to live paycheck to paycheck or to have a lot of debt, even though a lot of people are in this situation. No one mentioned any solution for this, let alone a socialist solution. Sorry you triggered yourself.
I saw the pen and I KNEW she was takes her notebook seriously lol
You're hand writing is so pretty!!!
😱 really?! Thank you
@@erikalifevlogs i kept looking at it the whole time, its beautiful so that means i didn't hear you talking, can you plesse upload a workcheat of your handwriting?
Are you only paying the minimum on your credit card debts? The interest is going to break the bank.
I totally agree! One thing that really helped my credit and lowering my debt was making the minimum plus $15 to $20 depending on the interest of the card. Making the minimum payment on any debt will end up cost you more.
Just pay off the whole balance! Or as much as you feasibly can to erase that debt ASAP. You shouldn’t pay for things with a credit card unless you can pay off the balance in full every month - you just become a cash cow for the bank and also hurt your credit.
edawg792 if you don’t wait for it to reflect on your statement it won’t increase you credit all that much.Healthy and bigger payments help with building credit faster, but as long as you kept it below 30% of overall balance/credit then its okay. Many people have to get some sort of credit to start off, which means often times not being able to pay it off all at once for the first month. Especially for no interest promotion!
@@TinysBeauty I think in those cases, people should just use their credit card to make small purchases that they normally would have with cash / their debit card. You don't have to spend big to start building credit.
she doesn't even have anything left after savings. i know dave ramsey would advise paying off the debt first, but some people would like to have some money left for other things. plus, she has her side hustles, from selling planners on etsy and the youtube earnings, which she puts toward her snowball debt. she's prioritizing her bank of america, noticed that "focus on bank of america $200?"
I love that debt free land!
You should have more subscribers you’re really fun to watch! I just got a new job and am excited to figure out what my budget will be.
Thank you! And congrats on the new job!
I'm following Dave Ramsay and by 2022 my only debt will be my mortgage. Then I'll work on paying it off in 10yrs
My year seems to be 2020 which is almost here!! Then a 600k mortgage will probably come thru 😂😭
👏🏾👏🏾 it will be here before we know it.2020 is almost here 🙂
I do all of this already, but I like watching your videos to see if I’m missing any good points or if I can cut costs somewhere. I love how organized you are, too :) I need to get myself a notebook like this! Good job, keep up the great work.
your hand writing is so pretty!
Thank you!
I loveeeeeeeee how organized you are with your expenses 😁👍 Thank you for this video
Just something for you to investigate during your time off... here in TX when on FMLA when you do go back to work your first pay check fully back your employer will deduct ALL your health insurance money they were not pulling during your time off, this includes if you contribute to 401K every check as well, they will deduct all that money as well, you can call and stop your 401k until you get back. Was off for 12 weeks for having a baby and was shocked when i got that first paycheck and it was a balance of $0 lol
😱😱 well that will be a shocker!
omg. i’m about to leave on maternity... this is scary. thanks for the heads up-
I work in Human Resources and this is correct we adjust all the missed payments from your paycheck once you return. Another option we offer is to allow our employees to make payments while they are off on FMLA directly to HR and this allows for the employee to pay throughout their leave so they are not hit with it all at once when they return.
@@marianac6294 thank you! I'll be asking my hr about this.
Same over here! We do not watch tv 🙌🏻 loved your video!
Thank you!
definitely one of my fave budget channels !! keep em coming girl !! xx
My issue is I never got credit cards so now that I'm old enough to move out i don't have a credit score oops 😬
Zaks personal youtube I never got credit cards either and I’m in the process of moving out. I didn’t have a problem getting an apartment. Hopefully you won’t have too much trouble! 👍🏼
If you get cable bill internet cell phone ect go pay these bills at the bank teller the bank will see these on time payments and will be less scared to give you a credit card someday. this trick will only work if these bills are always paid on time and earlier the Bills are paid the better it looks. When paying at the bank teller. After 6 months of doing this make appointment with an account manager and tell him or her just like how you pay your bills on time, you will pay your credit card on time. Or you could even have these bills automatically taken out of your bank account by the cable provider ect when due, this will also earn trust.
If you haven’t I personally recommend you sign up for one ASAP! I recommend Discover it Secure or Student to my friends. I use it to pay gas and then pay it off every week on payday. Having good credit has saved me a few times, but really important saves at that.
You'll be fine as long as income exceeds spending and you have cash deposit. It's just to show if you pay timely.
I’m 16 and got a job about a year ago and I have a credit card that a rarely use but one thing I’ve done to start building credit is even if I have the money for gas, groceries, etc. I pay with my credit (not every time) then when I get home I immediately pay it off be careful though because credit can be a slippery slope. I’ve only done this a couple times but it has helped my credit
You got this! Love your planner!
Thank you!
Loved this video!! Helpful to have a real income and to have real expenses instead of other people's that don't relate.
Glad to be relatable!
I need that notebook 😩😍 Where u get it from 👀
Lovin’ your debt tracker ♥️
Wow! Good for you! This is extremely organized and I commend you for the hard work you're putting into this! Just a question: have you looked into a personal loan/line of credit from a bank for your CC debts? Those interest rates are INSANE! I was in the same boat a few years back and consolidated my CC debts onto a loan and paid like 8%. I was able to pay it off way faster with significantly less interest (one large payment onto the loan every payday instead of the measly minimum CC payments that go nowhere). Just a thought.
I won't consolidate. I rather have quick wins to stay motivated then see a huge loan slowly being chipped away. Something about seeing my credit cards go away makes me have even more determination of getting out of debt. its just a personal preference
Awesome progress so far! Love the organization to pay down debt
Comprehensive & relatable 👌
awesome to hear!
This is a great budget video. Around same income as me and visually intriguing!
Awesome to hear!
❤️.........this video! Also $127 for car insurance! Yeah I need to get out of NYC 😅
Miami $400.. I’m 20 though
Americans are always like „damn food in Europe is so cheap“ but then I see your income and.. makes total sense your food is more expensive ^^ you’d have to be a doctor to earn this much here.
This was so helpful ! Also are the “income “ and “bills to pay “ headers apart do the planner or are they your add on stickers ?
I used to sell them on my shop but not anymore
Does "cash flowing in advance" mean you save for something ahead of time? For example: You save in advance $ in a emergency fund or car repair money? Asming just for clarity
Cash flow to me does mean saving ahead of time because I know there is a set date for what is going to happen. For car repairs I do sinking funds meaning I save a set amount for what if situations or unexpected expenses.
OMG!!! This is so helpful. I appreciate you sharing with us. More videos please
Have you consider making a budget for eating out. I see that’s where u struggle most
Nope. My spending money covers my eating habits,, its just knowing I have extra cash I can use is what drives me to spend extra but its not a struggle
What’s the direct link to the budget planner you use ? I can’t find it thank you ❤️
Why am I watching this I don’t even have debt
Your 1342 for 2 weeks is my 4 week paycheck.. Though I have no rent to worry about, yet.. I will probably in half a year so I really am going to start challenging myself to make a budget plan and actualy stick to it because right now I'm just broke af.. I knew I should have finishes college..
If I had a dollar each time she explained what biweekly was I would be out of debt
And I don't know if she understands the definition of cash flow🤔. I believe she is using that word incorrectly.
So where do your nails go under
My boyfriend pays for them :)
OMG!! I love the planner
Thank you. I frankenplanned it to fit my needs
Thank you so much for being transparent with your numbers. Our numbers look similar so this was easy to relate to and incorporate for myself. I know many think talking about money is taboo but I’m grateful you shared and I can’t wait to set up my budget for the rest of the month. New subscriber! ❤️
Its always nice to hear that Im relatable since its one of the main reasons I started youtube. To find or connect with others in my similar situation/pay. Thanks for joining my journey!
I've literally been thinking of switching to spectrum mobile. We have Verizon right now and the bill is through the roof! Do you like spectrum mobile?!
I love it. Its cheap and I have service everywhere I go plus it comes with personal hotspot just incase you need it for your ipads
I’ll be doing this when I move as well
At 18:16, does anyone else see that glitch thing where her phone jolts to the left for a second?
Question, do you pay everything as you get paid or you wait untill you get both checks and just knock them all out at once?
I pay every time I get paid.
Okay thank you so much!
What do you do for work besides TH-cam?
You are doing good even in your budget you can fund your disney trip and thank God for your change jar etsy and TH-cam lol
How much money do you spend on your nails?
cutiemel91 thats what I was thinking. I’d say $60 or so and that wasn’t budgeted for. $120 a month on the high end for nails is kinda ridiculous when this is the budget and income. If she does them herself then she definitely saves there but still.
I dont my partner pays for them.
This is my first time watching you and I just needa ask. What do you do for a living? $1,200 a pay check I don’t even make that in one month
Im a quality associate in the pharmaceutical sector
I looove ur handwriting, it’s soo pretty! also at 5.25 yiu made a mistake. you said multiply by 4 but you only multiplied by 2
The bill was bi weekly, so multiplied by 2 (2 weeks times 2=1month)
Maybe I missed this but is this assuming there is no beginning balance or are you just not including it?
are you giving the debt freeland print out for free cuz we are all on a budget you know
This was helpful to watch. I subbed
🥳💕
I’m new to your channel ! I’m trying to pay off my debt too! I was wondering if you could make a video on how you film your videos ? Like your setup!
Its already in my channel. Always linked in the description bar
What about utilities? Is it included in the rent?
No. But I dont worry about those bills. This is just my budget for my responsibilities
what do you do for work?
Quality assurance
Thank you! This was very helpful!
what about savings and tithes and offerings. Dave Ramsy says pay yourself first ?? I understand that you have the sinking funds but is this savings
Savings is not part of baby step 2 is you follow his principles he says stop all investing and savings aside from you emergency fund. tithing will not be shown on my videos for past reasons .

2 weeks probably
Oh really congratulations hun I’m so proud of ya !!!
Are you ok with the earthquake Erika? Prayers
We had the baby version of it in LA, thank you so much for asking. But yes we are all fine. I think further out going to Vegas is where it was a magnitude of 6.6!
What about taxes? Wouldn't your biweekly pay be lower??
Taxes for ?? My paychecks already come tax deducted, benefit deducted, retirement savings deducted.
You have very nice handwriting
Where do you factor in your nails? Or do you do them yourself?
I only have them done if my boyfriend pays for them or on a special occasion where I want to treat myself. Other than that I dont really worry about them. Work really makes it hard to upkeep
Were did you get that pretty binder cover.. It's so beautiful
Came with the notebook
I like this planner but I can’t find it on the website that you linked .
Its a note book, that is frankenplanned with 2 - 6month extention packs
what camera do u use to film?
Sony a5100
Will you be saving for retirement after all debts are paid off?
Ive never stopped contributing to my retirement.
And ps I neeeeed several streams of income too you are winning at life girl

Do you save any money?
You guys don't do any date nights??
Not on my budget. He takes care of that mainly. Im usually the one to pay for coffee or small items within my budget
Honey fucking go but what that job tho damn. I cant even afford to live in a show box and eat at the same time.
This was inspirational hahaha when I watched this I couldn't wait to get my check to start doing this. Everything is paid for now... and I'm left with no money 😭
It always feels like that until you start paying off bills and seeing your money open up more! Just dont forget to give yourself some money too!
I want all of it
What does zero-based mean?
Why is laundry $30? Washer/dryer is usually like 1.50 but let's round up say $2. Say you do 4 loads a month that's $16..
She may have to do a load of whites, load of colours, load of towels then load of sheets. All adds ups
All these budgeting videos always have this huge income number and yeah, it's easy to do it like that. I earn 1000 a month and have to pay rent, bills and food. I always watch these budgeting videos to try and help myself save some money but nobody has a realistic income.
Maybe not in your city or state but in LA anything less is basically not livable income
