Interesting video. When disk brakes were introduced to the Dauphine they were on all 4 wheels, the heavy tail allowed for this without regulators. The disk brake design was a new Renault design, the floating caliper system. Since they were a government company and this was a safety issue rights were granted for anyone to use the design, and you still see versions of it on over half of the cars produced today.

Thanks for this video addressing the Renault Dauphine issue, which was the lovely car of my father when I was a child. But sure you'll excuse me if I say your video has at least two importants errors: (Minute 1:42) The 2CV was not a Renault model, but a Citroën. (Minute1:50) The design and developping of Citroën 2CV started in 1939; then, prototypes were hidden from the german occupants during Second World War; after the War the 2CV model was redesigned and finally launched in 1948 in its definitive shape; so, that was after 2nd WW, not between 1st and 2nd WW, when it was launched, as it seems could you mean in minute 1:50. Thanks and greetings from Spain

Jason, sorry, but your video has an important error: besides all the coutries you listed, where the Dauphine was produced, the little car was also produced in Brazil by Willys Overland do Brasil, under license of Renault. From 1059 till 1968, were produced 74,620 Dauphines, 41,095 Gordinis, 8,967 Renault Teimoso (a cheap version, to serve as first car for low-budget families), and 721 Renault 1093, which was the Gordini with the beefed-up version of the Ventoux engine, as used in the Renault Alpine (this, also produced in Brazil, named Interlagos (the name of a famous racecourse here).
