My god...the tractor made short work of pulling that tree root out! Really handy having that around your farm! Totally enjoyed this!!😀

Thank you for yet another informative video - these are really giving me some confidence once mine arrives. One question please - I noticed a little front wheel slip during the rocking back and fourth process. Would you recommend dropping the tractor into 4 wheel drive and using the diff lock to minimise damage to the surrounding ground that you are working on? In my situation this might be a job done upon turf which is why I ask. Thanks again. I know your tractor is long gone so perhaps I’ll be testing your memory.

As I recall it was in 4x4 at the time. Not sure how you could reduce damage to the turf. Be aware that the manufacturer of the bucket doesn't recommend that procedure. If you do try it be sure to grip the stump at the centre of the bucket and best not to try it on a very large stump. 😉 good luck 👍

I wonder for a taller tree, if it was cut around 2 meters above the ground then using a tractor’s 4 in 1 bucket to pull out the rest of the tree like this. I might give it a shot, starting with a smaller tree and working up. My tractor’s a bit bigger than this one. I think the loader is rated at lifting around 900kg.

Just be careful not to over stress the joints of the bucket, my bucket was rated at 500kg (I think) and the manual did not recommend that type of task. That's why I only did it on small stumps. All depends on the angles of force ,I suppose, how much load it can take before damage? Good luck, thanks for the comment 👍

Sorry guy but that's the very best way to bend the bucket. I having owned several much larger backhoes with 4 n1 bucks, ask me how I know. Get the stump completely up rooted before lifting.
