An updated version of the X5 being sold now does have room for the little iOS and USB-C adapters. You can also use magnets to hide the transmitter underneath a lapel or collar.
Thank you for making this great video. Love your format. I just got these as a gift and love them. I am blown away how clear they sound in your video. Again, Thank you!
Man, you and God got together with mother nature and created the absolute best lighting session around 5:10 man wow. I ordered this the other day and it's a beast I love it. I like how I can now have dual split channel so i can have full ambient an full audio from a speaker. Right at 6:00 at the wink... SMOOTH BRO! LOL
I’m only an occasional user but love my X5 which I use with my iphone12pm. I find record level or 3 or 4 best. The audio is best 150mm in front of my mouth. Not so good on my shirt. Unusually better under my shirt with the deadcat! A separate lav input not so good with my PurplePanda (which is much better plugged directly into the phone).
Does anybody know of a seller on Amazon or elsewhere that sells the windscreen for a reasonable price? With a compatible mount that locks on it, because they're not using the DJI mount.
The recording is actually done on the transmitter, not the receiver. If you have recorded on your transmitter and have no audio showing up, try a different USB cord. Some are charge only and don't communicate data
Really great review! - Have you tested the battery life to see if it stacks up to the manufacturer claims? - I'm seeing inconsistency there, some say 6 hours, some say 8, but can't find a test. Also, size wise, they claim to be 1.8x smaller and 1.7x lighter than the DJI transmitter (47x26x13mm 18g on the X5 vs the DJI 47x30x20 30g), while having batter battery, I mean, woah! - Is that true or are they exaggerating the specs?
@@DustinAbbottTWI nop i got sound for a scene and left the groom mic on then wet whit bride perp Mice the bride and in the first look the mic was off inside the shirt of the groom turned it on and 80 battery
@@biggooseadventuresthat’s weird . Mine is doing just perfectly. Using it with the following combo: Sony A9 +Atomos Ninja star and Insta360 X3 and Insta360 ONE RS . No issues what so ever. Waiting for the weather to cool down a litle bit to test the mics on my bike and Insta360 X3. I am using also a Rode lavalier mic connected tot he transmitter and the sound is “sound”

They are very nice.

Curious if you've tried the Dji Wireless mics? If so, how did they compare in your opinion? Thanks for the great content, as always 👍
I haven't yet, no. I would be interested in trying them, though.
He did an awesome job. Thank you.
You're welcome.
Can you connect this directly to a macbook and use for meetings live rather than recordings?

Great review, Dustin! What lapel mic do you recommend with best sound?
Hmmm, good question. This Sennheiser gets positive reviews, and is fairly inexpensive: bhpho.to/46v0Jij
This was hard to pass up at $103 on Amazon. I’m sorry I didn’t use your link. Seems like a great deal.

New subscriber here due to such a detailed review!! Thx
My pleasure.
Works perfect but for some reason when recording on my iPhone 15 pro max the audio sounds choppy
How do you equalize your mics? I like how they sound post-processed
I do custom EQ settings for my voice in Cyberlink Audio Director.
how to know if i got the new version or old?
Can i ask the name of the lapel mic you where using pls?
It’s from my Hollyland Lark kit, but you can get wired lapel mics like that pretty cheap.
How do you guys export the audio recording?! I just plug the receiver on my pc and it doesn't show nothing

Does this system have "auto frequency hopping" to maintain a connection in a busy city situation?
It does automatically choose the best frequency. I used it in a park in the middle of a busy city for a wedding and it worked fine
hello! can i connect it to a samsung s 10 smartphone using only the s10 smartphone camera?
I think you can.
@@DustinAbbottTWI thank you very much.

I find that the battery lasts for a very long time. We did a wedding and ceremony a few weeks ago and the battery was strong for the whole thing.
Hi mine turned off by itself
Is that normal or my set is not working?
That doesn't sound normal. Is the charging case dead and need to be charged?
Yes I actually turn it on after the wedding and it had 80% battery

Can you quickly mute the microphone with a button?
I'm not 100% sure about that.
Rode competitors!!
At a serious value, too.
Nice video, this mic is absolutely garbage…..I returned mine.
Really? What exactly was garbage? I've giving it heavy use without issue
@@DustinAbbottTWI picks up way too much Ambien background noise.
