Frank eating the cat food is obviously iconic, but I think Dee and Charlie’s stand-up routine is a great moment too. I particularly love the guy who randomly shouts “JESUS CHRIST” when Dee dry heaves for the second time, which I’m pretty sure is Rob McElhenney’s voice
The best part about Frank hustling into the apartment to quickly eat the cat food is that, since the combination to fall asleep is cat food, beer and huffing glue, it’s implied that before Frank shows up he already huffed glue and drank beer wherever he partying at
He's coming around for sure. Eric has been grinning since episode 1 (since he knows what's to come). Calvin I would say definitely has a list of favorite moments so far, and Aaron, having finally accepted the gang are a just a despicable bunch, has been going with the flow very well as time goes by.
@@BeatleScorpion1 I would recommend watching their 21 Jump Street reaction if you haven't seen it already. There's a moment that I think might rival this. His laugh wasn't quite as loud, but it was definitely the longest I've seen him laugh lol.
Unfortunately, Sinbad had a life-altering stroke last year. He was placed in a medically induced coma, and was partially paralyzed when he was awakened. He's been spending the last year trying to regain strength in his limbs... I'm not sure how damaged his brain was.
No one ever mentions it, but what makes Frank storming in and wolving down the cat food so extremely funny to me, is a) he's wearing these pearl necklaces, and doesn't take them off to bed, and b) the cat food was already readily open for him LMAO. Also the way he just tosses it to the ground after a few bites, good Lord, this is comedy gold 😂
That scene where Frank gobbles down the cat food and falls asleep immediately has to be the funniest moment in the entire series for me, I basically died laughing the first time LMAO
The scene were Charlie eats cat food + beer to fall asleep is the VERY FIRST THING I'd ever seen of this show. He immediately became my favourite character! I got a tattoo for him last year ^ ^) This is pretty much my number 1 comedy show, and this is definitely one of my favourite episodes. I love anytime Dee and Charlie hang out, their vibe together is so unhinged (like the human meat episode too!)
Sinbad suffered a stroke in 2020 that caused a bunch of health issues. According to his kids tho, he is slowly getting better, using a walker to walk now and gaining his speech back, weak but he can talk now. Hoping he continues to get better and regain his strength.
Caitlin Olsen's physical comedy during Dee's stand-up performance was god-tier stuff. The clenching hands, the breathing, the dry-heaving... one of the funniest bits she's done on the show, and there have been a lot. 👍🏼😆👍🏼
So funny to see Erick the anticipation of waiting for Danny Devito to run into the room and start shoveling cat food into his face. Classic Sunny moment
Yeah, this episode definitely hits harder if you grew up with Sinbad. In the 90s, he was mostly known for being in family-friendly fare (e.g. Jingle All the Way). So the humor in this episode is primarily the jarring contrast between his wholesome image back then juxtaposed with how he is here. But if you're not that familiar with Sinbad, then I can see how those moments kinda fall flat.
I'm from Philly, and I actually used to play in that fountain. It's called Logan Square (even though it's a roundabout), and back in the day during summer, they used to let swim and play in it.
We all remember Sinbad as being in this episode, and actually may think we just saw him, but that’s actually the Mandela effect. That’s not actually Sinbad
This show, I mean, is obviously still airing, but this episode aired back in my Sophomore or Junior year of college, and even after all this time Charlie's dry heave noise during the stand-up is one of the funniest things ever. I've never done a tier list of funniest things to me, but it's definitely top 5, possibly top 3. And the same with Sunny episodes, I've never ranked them, but I feel this is a pretty good shoe-in for my favorite episode
It is crazy that I haven't seen or heard from either Sinbad or Rob Thomas since the late 90s/early 2000s except for this random cameo as two imaginary insane people 😂
I love the scene in Charlie's apartment, not only for it's comedy, but so many "dumb" characters, ESPECIALLY in comedies, say outrageous shit for seemingly no reason. I like how the show acknowledged that Charlie does legitimately have some kind of logic that leads him to do the things he does, his logic just happens to be ridiculous
Rob Thomas! Ayoooooo When I was in grade school like from 4th-5th grade I kinda had insomnia or something bc every night I’d be wide awake then I’d turn on vh1 or mtv music vids which replayed the same vids every single night. Holy shit like when I hear certain songs still, I instantly feel like it’s 3 or 4 am going through groundhog day insomnia. But yeah I’d sleep around 4am till like 7:15am, get ready and be late literally everyday. I’d get dropped off and walk straight to the office for a late pass at 8:15am, walk into class 8:30am. It was weird the teachers never really cared since I was a smart kid. But yeah couldn’t sleep for shit. When I was a raging alcoholic in my mid 20s, I read A Million Little Pieces and found just the first few pages to be so god damn relatable. (Waking up in pain looking in mirror and seeing two black eyes with one eye popping out. Concussed with a broken nose. Or this one time I woke up 5000 miles away in another state. I don’t remember boarding a plane, *checking in my luggage, retrieving it from baggage claim* and calling my friend to pick me up from the airport with my carry on and suitcase and came back from a blackout at a house party. SO confusing I was 5hrs away but back in my college town. How?! Thank god I can be functional without consciousness. But then there’s all the times I’ve woken up in random places and begin my detective work of where am I, did I lose anything, if so mission to question people to find out where I was at… what a life eh? Then still find ways to trap house and make it back in time for work. High function addiction… I feel 85 instead of 35. Back when I was 30 I tried to read it again when I was hospitalized for open heart surgery because of my heroin addiction (idk guess they didn’t notice the other shit in my blood but was using and selling meth to support the heroin addiction. Where I live you can’t profit on h unless you’re getting it shipped in, besides meth users are waaaay better to deal with. Desperate junkies are a nightmare) But anyway, tried to read that book again that I thought was so relatable and was like, meh bull shit. Couldn’t get into it. I was able to quit alcoholism by being addicted to opiates and even THAT made me go, “Damn. There’s no way alcohol is good for you. It’s like a poison.” They both suck but each have pros/cons. But I’m fucked because I have back pain (prob from falling 3 stories off a scaffolding thanks to an idiot) and the booze gave me lifetime anxiety. Try getting ANY help from a medical profession and I’m like blacklisted. I can only suffer physically & mentally for so long before I need to find a way to self medicate since they won’t help me. Oh and weed, that’s the one thing I can’t handle. Since I was 21 it started turning on me and now I regret it every time I try to do the smallest mg. They just made that stuff so strong or something because I remember smoking a blunt with the roomies in 2010 and like a switch it just started getting too strong and messing with me. I thought I was gonna be a grandma stoner. Instead I’ve got greenlit by my cardiologist for a cig a day because “it’s healthier than heroin” 😂 But I still hate doctors and even recovery ones. They’re just greedy bastards and don’t take insurance so like a drug dealer you have to come up with ways to pay $200 for the 30min visit plus $170 for the meds. Try saving up for that as a heroin addict. Hah! Took me nearly a year and neglecting servicing my car to save up for that. And of course the scaffolding thing happened around the same time during all this so it was hell. That’s the pain/recovery doctor (specialist in opiate addiction) with psychotherapist excluded. Though couldn’t find one of those either they just would look shocked and act different around me the more I shared. I didn’t like it. And when I asked that greedy recovery doc about my program to taper off he was strongly against that and said I should take more. Buddy, I said I’m nodding out at 10am because they’re too strong now that the dope is out of my system. Fucking hate that guy and he’s the only option.

Frank bursting into the apartment without saying a word is brilliant.
And Dee just standing there in total confusion is hilarious
This will end up being one of Aaron's favorite shows, and I'm so proud
I don't think I've ever seen him laugh as hard as he did with that cat food scene, it was amazing! XD
It will be like Rick and B99

4:40 the way Frank comes bursting in and starts chowing down on the cat food for bed time 🤣. They have a system.

I think Frank is gonna be come Aaron's Captain Holt. Because this is just Frank beginning to peak.
He hasnt begun to peak
Aaron is going to die at the "He's the man in the couch!" and "I just wanna be pure." scenes.

The one with Phil Hartman, too. Or when he's the bodyguard to the president's son.

I would love to see how many times (if ever) Jon Bon Jovi has been called Bovine Joni since this episode aired.🤣🤣
I laugh at that line every time I hear it. Second funniest thing behind Frank and the cat food. 🤣
I've been watching the series along with you guys and the Normies, as I've never seen it before. I... was not expecting Sinbad and Rob Thomas 😂
Many thanks to Eric, Calvin and Aaron! 🌞 Fred Savage directed this episode.

Charlie explaining their routine with such annoyance and certainty is may favorite thing in the show.
I absolutely love when Frank comes in, automatically knows the routine, and then just dumps the cat food and fork off to the side.
Aaron losing it when Frank comes in. So good.
This was the first episode I ever watched (on a random tv-channel) and I was so confused but also instantly hooked!
They talked about this on their podcast, but this episode was envisioned as being a two partner originally, which is why the ending feels very rushed

Eric - "What's your favorite Sinbad movie?"
