I love the scenes of Magnus and Asmodeus, they are so wonderfully performed. Harry and Jack did a very good job with this "special" father-son relationship.
The way Magnus slowly tightens his hold on Asmodeus... Accepting that comfort when he's got nothing else... For me it's the most painful part of this PAINFUL scene. :,(
This hug makes me wanna cry so badly, Asmodeus does love Magnus in a messed up sorta way, and Magnus cares for Asmodeus deep down, and Asmodeus genuinely seems happy that Magnus is finding comfort in him, and Magnus is hugging Asmodeus so tightly I think he is happy to have his dad in this moment.
I know, right?! The whole season 3, especially 3B, was like one big 'Let's see how much pain Magnus can possibly go through'. :,( He SO deserved his happy ending! :,)
I think some people need to remember that osmodeus is no ordinary demon. He is a fallen angel who Fell from grace so yes he is evil but he still has emotions. I think he does care about magnus alot to some degree. Magnus is by far his favorite warlock child ever.
Asmodeus took full advantage of Magnus while he was devastated 😩 The fact that Magnus was willing to finally lean on his dad, who he hates, for comfort after centuries shows how heartbroken he was 💔
...Ok, well, Asmodeus did prevent Magnus from erasing his memories of Alec; for that, I am grateful and thankful, but I hate his reason for doing so...by keeping his memories of Alec and still reeling from their "breakup," Magnus is falling and succumbing to the sadness and depression, and Asmodeus is taking full advantage of his heartbreak for his own gain. Asmodeus is the "Prince of Hell," for a reason, and what he wants to do that involves Magnus can't be just some "father/son, bonding time,"...someone's got to send Asmodeus back to Hell, before he gives the Shadowhunter world some Hell.
I actually love that bonding moment, even if it was achieved through expert manipulation. What else can you expect from a demon, really? At least Asmodeus looks genuinely happy to hold and comfort his son. It’s adorable. ♥️ And I can’t wait for a glimpse of dark!Magnus. It’s so exciting! 😈
He doesn't care, He wants something, he just wants Alec to suffer. He wants him to embrace his Demon side Nd get rid of his mortal side. But i think that They will banish him back to hell and alec and he will end up married in the season finalie. Maybe clary and jace will too. Its gonna be diffent than the books because they have to do book 6 in a 2 hour movie :( impossible so i am sure they will change some things. I am so sad to see this show go.

By the time Assy gets to speak to Magnus, our fave warlock has all ready heard enough about his father to despise and reject him. Fast forward a few centuries...Asmodeus sees how desperate Magnus is to save Jace FOR ALEC, and right then he figures that this little bit of serendipity will come in handy. Assy knows weaknesses, he knows how to manipulate them, he knows how to be a grandmaster at the long game. He wants his son back. Breaking Magnus down, tearing him away from everyone? Perfect psychological & emotional time to strike with matching perfect manipulation. Because Assy is an ass. In that moment, he's won something from Magnus. So he affords himself a tear of joy in the victory, a tear he can claim was born out of love & compassion for Magnus' heartache...and drive that hook even deeper into his son. Prick.

In the books Asmodeus said that Magnus was the child who made him proud, because he lived a long life and learned how to use his power. The relationship between Magnus and Asmodeus is explaned in the last book of the Mortal Instrument and in the first book of the Eldest Curses, if you wanna know more about it☺
