This Killing Voice performance, as the title indicates, is supposed to showcase EXO's outstanding vocals, so what you are hearing is a compilation of some of the best parts of their songs that highlight their vocal abilities. They debuted more than 11 years ago, so they have a lot of songs. You are only hearing a small fraction of them and only a few lines of each of the songs (And in some cases, they are singing lines from the middle of the song, so it may sound different when you listen to the actual song. Plus, in this performance they are missing two members, so some of their parts in these songs were different than the original versions because they had to cover for the members who were unable to participate in this program.) As you can see and hear, this is a LIVE performance with 100% live vocals. SM Entertainment -- which is the company that founded the Kpop industry and is one of the largest and most influential entertainment companies in Korea -- is known for having some of the best singers in the industry. You can't be an SM artist without being an amazing singer. So even the company's rappers receive intense vocal training. (Just look at EXO's Chanyeol on the far left and Sehun on the far right, who are both main rappers, and, yet, they each have amazing singing voices. How often do you see rappers that can sing as well as them?) All of SM's rappers could even fill in as main vocalists in their groups. That is why the company has gained the reputation as the vocal powerhouse of the industry. And what you are hearing is why EXO are nicknamed "the vocal kings of Kpop". Another thing SM's artists and groups are known for is for being top tier when it comes to live vocals and perfect harmonies. SM artists are recognized for the fact that they all can sing live while performing intense choreography for hours in concert and still sound flawless the whole time. EXO is currently a 9-member group, however, there are only 7 members in this performance. From left to right: Chanyeol (main rapper and lead vocal), D.O. (main vocal), Suho (leader and lead vocal), Chen (main vocal), Xiumin -- pronounced like Shoe-Min or Shoo-Min, X in Chinese makes an English SH sound, not Z sound -- (lead vocal, sub-rapper, and dancer), Baekhyun (main vocal) and Sehun -- pronounced like Say-Hoon -- (main rapper and main dancer). The two members who are missing are: Kai (main dancer, lead vocal and sub-rapper), who is on hiatus right now because he joined the military May 2023, and will be away for the next 18 months; and Lay (main dancer, lead vocal and rapper), EXO's Chinese member, who is busy with solo activities in China. Xiumin is the oldest member, who is currently 33, and Sehun is the youngest at 29. They are seasoned veterans at this point, who are all highly respected in the industry for their talent. "Growl" is literally the song that skyrocketed EXO into superstardom and it's now considered one of Korea's national anthems, if you have been a part of Kpop for any amount of time you have to know this song because it's part of Kpop culture and it is used everywhere. It was even one of the theme songs for the 2018 Winter Olympics. I mean it's one of the most covered songs by trainee groups and you can see and hear it being performed by people all over the place. "Growl" is the song that EXO are most known for. There is no MV for "The Eve" because it's a B-side track. After seeing the choreography, it would be pretty hard to imagine this song having an MV that would be acceptable for mainstream Korean audiences. LOL What kind of story do you think they would be telling in the MV while dancing like this? 😂 If you like EXO's version of "The Eve," you should hear the English version of the song. "The Eve" was co-wrote and composed by Henry Lau from Super Junior-M and he sings a short demo version of the song in English. There is a clip of Henry in the recording studio singing the song you should see. Henry is the youngest member of Super Junior -- which is an SM Entertainment group, who are seniors to EXO -- and he is considered a music genius. Henry is Chinese/Taiwanese-Canadian, so his first language is English. He recorded a demo of the song so everyone can hear the English lyrics that he wrote and get a feel for the original style of the song. But unfortunately, SM never had Henry record the full English version, which most listeners will agree is a shame, because Henry's vocals and the English lyrics would have made this song an even bigger hit than it already is. The English version of "The Eve" is less than 2 minutes long, but once you hear it you will understand why the choreo for this song was designed the way it is. 😁 (For example, I'm pretty sure the move where they cross their arms above their head is supposed to look like their wrists have been tied up. Yes, the undertone of the song is all about sexual innuendo. LOL) If you've seen EXO's "Overdose" MV then you would remember it. It's a very iconic song and it's pretty hard to forget once you've heard it. Plus, the choreography is super catch, you should also recognize it. "Sing For You" came out in 2015 and it is literally, as the title says, EXO singing to EXO-L. This song isn't an OST, but it does have an MV and the song and MV is all part of EXO's storyline. This song was released after 3 of their Chinese members left the group, so it's also a promise and apology song to EXO-Ls. As you just saw, "Miracles in December" is a song that is only sung by EXO's three main vocalists, Chen, Baekhyun and D.O. However, you will see all the EXO members in the MV because it's telling another part of EXO's story. "The First Snow" is about the magic of the first snowfall of the season and how it's the perfect atmosphere to fall in love. This song is so popular that you can hear it being played all over the place in Korea on the first day it snows, and it's pretty much considered a winter anthem that gets played nonstop all season long, especially around the holidays. EXO's "Power" was also used as one of the theme songs, along with their song "Growl," during the 2018 winter Olympics. EXO even performed both songs during the closing ceremony. As "the nation's boy group," EXO was the only Kpop group to be selected to perform at the Olympics. If you like the sound of "Power" in this video, just wait until you see their live concert performance of the remixed version of the song. You should check out their "Diamond" + "Coming Over" + "Run This" + "Drop That" + "Power" set at their EXOPLANET #4 The ElyXiOn in Seoul in 2017. "Cream Soda" is their most recent song that was just released in July, and the whole reason why they were on Dingo's Killing Voice was to promote this song and album, which is why the performed the whole song. (LOL, if you think "Cream Soda" is about the soft drink, then you really need to look up the English translation of the lyrics. EXO are not talking about a beverage. 😉) Oh and BTW, the fandom is pronounced EXO-L, like the letter of the alphabet. EXO was originally split up into EXO-K (Korean) and EXO-M (Mandarin Chinese), so their fans are called EXO-L because the L stands for love and the fans are what brings the two halves of the group together by standing in the middle -- K, L, M -- to connect us all one big group. EXO's slogan is "We are one," because they are one as a group and one with their fans. And the reason why those English subs look like gibberish is because there are no English subs on this video. (You should have just turned the subs off.) If you click on the CC button and it says "English (Auto-generated)," this means these are subs that are designed for the hearing impaired and they only work on videos where they are speaking English. The way auto generated subs work is the computer listens to what is being said in the audio on the video and it attempts to interpret what is being said in English. Therefore, on a video like this where they are speaking in Korean most of the time, the computer is trying to find English words that sound like the Korean words that it hears, it's not translating the Korean into English. The only time the subs are correct is when there is an English word or line in the lyrics or they say something in English. However, if you were to click on the CC button and it just says "English," this means either the company or a fan has taken the time to translate what they are saying in Korean, or whatever language they are speaking, into English.
I think a lot of people know some (or all) or EXO's title tracks but the group has insanely good songs. Album reactions may not be your cup of tea but EXO doesn't disappoint. Many of their B sides have been performed live in concerts which you could also react to (Seoul concerts are usually safe. Most Japan concerts get blocked). EXO-L has been spoiled for content lately but we can never have enough!
You should definitely see the acoustic medley in Seoul, exo live performance is in another level this Dingo killing voice was a gift for the fandom afer 3 years when they went enlisted
Main Rappers - Chanyeol and Sehun Main vocalists - Chen, Baekhyun, & D.O Lead Vocalist - Suho (leader) Subvocalist - Xiumin, Kai (& Chanyeol) Main Dancer - Kai, Sehun & Lay Regardless, it's their position but all of em sing even the Rappers
They Never Disappoints Their Discography is Amazing. Please get to know them they are Precious 🥰. Plz check out Individual Guide by Cesar Oh , looking forward to your EXO Journey ❤
In case your wondering, Kai is not in there because he is in the military, but his voice is in the Cream Soda MV....and he is in the pre release songs in Hear Me out and Let Me In.
I'm pretty sure the back of Killing Voice room is a white room with lighting that changes the color? I could be wrong though. Anyway I love this Killing Voice too just because the vocals. And I found my bias - D.O - I had listened to a lot of random live vocals clips of them in the past and thought it's either Baekhyun or D.O and now I know who is my favoriiiite. But those two definitely have my favorite vocals - and I tend to bias main vocals (my ults) but then if I DON'T connect with the main vocal of a group it seems like it's a rapper who is a great dancer. ahhaha My current favorite EXO song is Regret It - I'll listen to that song on repeat. But it's from the newest album.
5yrs actually.. TEMPO & Love Shot was the last full comeback before members started going to military. The releases after that are with missing members. 😅
Chanyeol is 6'1, Sehun is 6'0 and the member in the military Kai is 5'11. all the other members are 5'8-5'9 chanyeol and sehun are the main rappers, but a few of the other members can rap and the leader of exo is Suho

I need BTS to do Killing Voice. It's not fare. UwU. Agree, the captions are not 100% right. Sing for you i liked i think. Will relisten. Miracles in December was nice. Will relisten. Not a fan of Love Shot, sigh. The Eve i like. I heard it a few weeks ago by accident on Spotify. I was taking a shower. Good vocals and harmonies. Mama was not for me. Overdose chorus was familiar to me too. So maybe i heard this one before. Will relisten. Monster was not bad. Will relisten. I've heard this one before. The First Snow was sweet. Will relisten. I like Xmas songs. Don't Go was nice. Will relisten. Power was not bad. Will relisten. Like the EDM. Cream Soda i hear was 0.o spicy. Lol. Didn't really peak my interest. I think Anitra said that too many bands were releasing tracks lately that are spicy af. lmao. I really should not have watched this, sigh. I still need to finish the NCT guide i started with Caitlin Benson a few days ago. Hugs. -NYC USA 2019 Army💟
