I think that is damn fast for a 50 footer with a 14 1/2 foot beam, she weighs in at over 43000 lbs dry.
Mono hull also would be way faster on a catamaran

The boat is actually just over 53 ft long and is very heavy. With at least 3 - 4 adults, hundreds of gallons of gas, hundred gallons of water and 50 gallons of diesel, I don't think 70+ mph is too shabby at all.
