Jon, you really missed the mark here.....OP12!!
Love my Pixel 8 pro. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺🦘🪃🍻😉
So what about things like call quality, networl connections, service range and other things that make a phone the camera is not the only part of a phone.
The things you mentioned are all better on samsung
If u go by that then it's Samsung by a mile. My galaxy phones are always better than my pixels and iPhones in that department every year.
@@BennyBlawnk i won't deny that because we use those thing 90 to 100 percent of the time.
I love my pixel 8 pro but unfortunately I will have to replace it with the s23 Ultra. Battery life is terrible, and also i have network issues with several missed calls per day.
@ballbustinbandit3558you are damn right i have a pixel 8 not even 8pro and battery life is excellent. I think bro is high
Great video Jon!
Nice video Jon!
Google Pixel Gangsters vs Samsung Knights.... got my 🍿. Watching on my S23 Ultra since my Pixel 7 Pro is changing 😂😂. Nice video !!
Shout out to White Shoes😅
@@consciousgentile5141 Floss ! 🤣
I've had numerous Galaxy and Pixel devices, but I'm absolutely sold on the direction Google is going with the Pixel. Not at all a knock against Samsung... The Pixel 8 is just that great to use every day.
How is your battery life so far? Reviews seem to be all over the place
Nothing but miserable experiences with pixel 8, as someone who has loved 4 other pixels so far. Google has taken such a nosedive it's honestly unbelievable.
@@conorohagan9947I don’t get it with Google either. They keep doing this weird corner cutting instead of just going full on ultra premium. They’re never going to compete with Samsung with their current strategy.
I'm struggling with my Pixel 8 Pro and am eyeballing that S24 Ultra.
@@daanborrias Battery life has been fine for me, but nothing spectacular. Enough to get me through a full day of medium to heavy use, but not much more. I take photos and videos quite a lot, and it's usually lasted from when I get up to when I go to bed with no issues. I do think this is one area where Google needs to improve, along with better charging speeds. Google and Samsung need to take a page out of the OnePlus playbook in that department!
Have both the 8 pro and S24U. The S24U is the better overall phone. The pixel has a slight edge in the camera and it's photos but that's about it. The tensor g3 chip is such a huge disappointment. I would love google to use snapdragon but an alternative would be the exynos chips. It's much better than the tensor.
I love the Sammy but hate the keyboard. If I could somehow get the haptics and sound level adjustment fixed on the Gboard app, Sammy would be it for me.
Pixel 8 pro is on sale and so much cheaper, if it is even close it is the pixel
S24u with snapdragon gen 3 with oneui6.1 is absolutely imsane! JUST POWER POWER POWER and the cameras are amazing as always ....absolutely zero wrong with this phone ...it has it all and the 75% less reflective screen is incredible
it has one fault. The price is too high :)
Get ok black Friday 😊@@AndrewTSq
I know this isnt a fair comparison but I have had the Pixel 8 Pro since it launched. Recently, I got the base Samsung S24. Although these phones are not comparable when it comes to the hardware, the software experience (for the most part) is the same on this base S24 as it is on the S24 Ultra. First impressions so far, I am missing that pixel software. It's a change for sure but we'll see how I'll adapt to it.
How's the battery with the s24 vs Google pixel 8 pro
Missing the X1V is criminal
S24U is a beast!!
I really like the 8 Pro. I've had it since launch but the warm weather is here now and it overheats when I'm in the car and it's hot out and I'm using GPS, even with the AC on. I ordered an S24 Ultra and it doesn't overheat. Unfortunately until Google fixes the heat issue with the Tensor chips I would recommend the the S24 Ultra but I still think the Pixel takes better photos. It was the same situation with the Pixel 7 Pro and S23 Ultra.
I just switched to Pixel 8 Pro from S21 Ultra and, so far, P8P is like MacOS on Apple Hardware vs S21 like Windows with a bunch of bloatware.
Thank you for choosing a winner
Watching this on my S24U. This is by far the most powerful phone I ever owned. It's overall the best phone so far, checks every box I need for my daily use.
How locked in are you into Samsungs apps / ecosystem? I'm debating getting either of these two phones, but the idea of making a bunch of new accounts for Samsung apps is a big negative for me
@@daanborrias Your not really locked in at all, sure it has a bunch of pre-installs Samsung apps but you don't have to use them, it also comes with most of the basic google ones aswell because Samsung partner closely with google for different features (and its ultimately running android).
I have the pixel 8 pro, it is a beautiful compared to my s20 fe, the only issue I have had on this phone is it crashes on apps every now and then. Also the pixel have a great battery life at about 9 hours of screen on time. Cameras are brilliant but if I didn't get the pixel when I did I would have the s24u
Yes not really locked into the ecosystem. I like the fact that I can still use my MacBook and air pods if needed because they still work together. For example. Google messages works well between both since you can access Google messages on the web and I use it on my Mac. I use more of the Google apps than Samsung.
There is also ways to uninstall the bloatware as well if you don't use it. Which I highly recommend to free up some space too
Pixel has a better camera
But their modems are trash, weak signal with eifi and mobile data
5g is almost non existent
Battery is nothing special and the tensor chip is gets hot and staters
Kiss my comment if you are watching this on a very cheap phone and not expecting to afford one in the near future 😂
Pixel 3a here
15PM and 8Pro here
Watch a video from Infinix Hot 10 2020 😂😂😂
Watching from a 15 PM
😂😂😂😂
Just farting around with my cameras while watching/listening. I took some photos of the parking lot and some of the cars from my computer chair. I'm on the 3rd floor and about 40 yards away. I first shot with my secondary phone, the regular S24 up to 10x. Took the same shots with my main phone, 14 Pro max. I could easily make out one of the license plates on one of the cars. From the S24! The 14PM was pretty blurry. I've been using iPhones for about 5.5 years now. Maybe time to switch back. Nice vid John!
Pixel has issues but in the end of the day it delivers and finishes the job at cheaper price
Hi, do you know if super res zoom feature is gonna come on 8 pro or not? Was it just a gimmick to increase sales?
Super res is already on pixel

Lots of good info... But your speaking so fast and at times rather low and mumbly it can be hard to understand. This is especially true when you have the background music (why have any?) too loud (see around 10:30).
Watching in my Ultra. But, I miss the Pixel experience but the P7 ruined me on battery life.
The Pixel 8 pro battery is terrible as well!!!!
@@Compulsive-Elk7103 How many hours do you get a day?
@@samigrh6375 6-7 on data (5g) , I can squeeze 12 hours on WiFi. With battery saver on at 30%
@@samigrh6375 depends on if I'm using data or wifi. I have 5g turned on so if I'm using that then I can get 5-7 hours . If I'm on WiFi , then I can definitely last 12 or more hours
I’m an iPhone user and curious about the pixel phones what is this statement I keep reading everywhere about people missing the pixel experience what is so special what is it ? I plan to switch to android end of this year should I do Samsung pixel or Oneplus ?
Pixel are truly king for photo processing. But a phone is a whole experience. I came from a pixel 6. Is witch to the s24 ultra for zoom, better autonomy and better heat management. My pixel 6 got hot just uploading pics on insta. I know the 8 pro is probably better but it’s the kind of thing that made me wary.S24 is not the better everywhere but it’s good everywhere. But pixel 8pro has crazy price value. You can’t go wrong with neither. It’s a question of : what are your main criteria for the fingerprint optical are more reliable but slower. I would still choose it over ultrasonic
I have the S24U and 8 Pro. You made the correct choice going with the S24U. 8 Pro has better camera but heat management is still an issue. When the 8 pro warms up it runs like crap and I have to restart it everytime. I wanted to like the pixel but the performance from the tensor g3 is a huge disappointment.
Battery is terrible on the Pixel 8 Pro, less than 5 hours SOT can't make it through a work day
Yes,me too.Barely 5 hours. Battery and heating issues, plus network problems and tons of missed calls.
What are you doing on your phone 5 hours at work?
oh, I was thinking of upgrading my A52s 5G, and that usually gives me 2 days of battery.... 5 hours seems really bad lol.
@@AndrewTSq I'm referencing screen on time there but I can't get to 10pm on a night with normal usage without charging
@@stevenrharris ah, I can get around 6-7 hours if its screen on time. (But its a 2 year old phone also)
Playing now is a killer feature for me
You might have had issues with Samsung's ultrasonic fingerprint sensor due to very dry fingers. Optical fingerprint sensor doesn't care about it, actually it prefers dry fingers while ultrasonic needs some moist 😈 to unlock it.
I will get the win to the Pixel 8 Pro just because Samsung's is almost twice the price.
Leave out price.. straight hardware to hardware, software to software the s24 ultra beats the pixel.
@@tracybrovan3997 ofc, it has way more money to put good stuff in it. Nowadays mid range is $500, top is $900 and ultra is $1300. 5 years ago too was $1000 or less. Still I love my Pixel 8 Pro but it fills like a 9 and not a 10, great phone but not top of the tops. And never like Samsung's software or echo system, reminds me of Apple's
@@tracybrovan3997you can't just dismiss price and software pixel is far superior. Hardware is similar outside of processor
@@techr1320😂😂
So I have used both. I prefer the photo quality on the pixel, but the smoothness of taking the photo on the S24 Ultra is better. How both phones are full of bugs. I came from an iPhone 13 Pro, but both my 8 pro and S24 ultra have had a calling issues, overheating problems, and the Samsung unlike the pixel constantly crashes on games. Idk if I have bad luck, but not impressed with android so far. Everything else works fine and good, but Android has a lot of bugs from my experience. To be fair though I had both only within the 2 months span. So as we enter month two of the s24 ultra, hopefully stuff will get fixed.
You just ruined your credibility, because the s24 ultra has not even been out for 2 months yet. Nice try.
@@mjjones1045 I think you need to learn Grammer. I said within. Not in 2 months. Within. Learn how to ready buddy before you wanna be an ass online 🤣
I jave for over 1 months . No bugs super battery life. Screen is very fragile. Had few scratches in first week. I'm coming from s21 ultra
@@tabromas1 I thought about buying one of those to play with android cause that is the last era of unique phone designs IMO. Only got the 24 cause I was only $350 or whatever it was after trade in
Comment section explains people would fight over anything 😂
I love both of these phones but I would easily pick the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra no doubt about it.
I don't know if it's your eyes. But what I see on My screen shows samsung pictures and videos looks more appealing to eyes , the portrait looks washed out on pixel too. Looks like you talking about different pictures.
Was thinking the same. Most of the pics I liked the Samsung Ultra .
@anthonyt425 I thought maybe my eyes or my TV lol I'm confused when I watch camera comparison. Sometimes it makes me feel like they just trying to talk 1 phone up over the other or they labeled the pictures wrong . But I bought s24 ultra and the pictures is better than my friends 15 pro max and my other friend has pixel 7 pro which is not even close .
Team Pixel 4L!
Colors hasn’t been bright for Samsun since the s8
I have the S24 ultra, just upgraded from my Note 9 and since I got use to the S Pen I can't go to a phone without it
As usual, TH-camrs don't talk about the shutter lag problem of moving subjects (e.g. your kids) especially indoors.
I have never had a Samsung as they do not appeal to me. I am an owner of a Pixel 6a and a Pixel 8 Pro and I have been happy with both. Though, my ideal device would be the Sony Xperia 1 V... but not with only 2 years of OS updates. Maybe the Sony Xperia 1 VII (when I can upgrade next in December 2025) will have better support.
What watch are you wearing in this video?
If you have S24U and utilize the circle feature to search, you will be able to find out within less than five seconds. 😊
Guess he is using Breitling 😊
Watching on my s24U
I have the Pixel 6 pro, the only problem for me is the CPU. Slooooow....
Watching on my pixel 8 pro... S24 ultra is the 1st ultra phone I don't own since s20 ultra😅
But. How many people have 2 or more phones to be able to do a direct comparison?
Him. That's why he's comparing them both for us so we can pick the right one.
S24 Ultra easy
It’s close, but I think I would go Pixel 8 Pro on this one
smart man
Lol not even close 😂 the pixel is not even in the same league
You are wrong. S24U is all better than the piece of garbage that is Pixels. Samsung is King 👑
Imagine liking a hot press lol samsung always better than pixel that only added afucking thermometer lol
@@mavilettanostorium Bro as a pixel 8 pro user, you realy don't know what are you talking about, pixel does 95% of what the samsung does for 400 $ cheaper. I know that it's difficult to admit for someone who spent 1500 $ for his phone.
I could edit my samsung pics to be more like Google right?
Yes, you can always edit, apply a preset, or color profile to adjust your final photo
Yes...just turn down the warmth and it will basically become a Pixel photo
s24 ultra easily! dex, spen, titanium, anti reflective gorilla armor, 2600 peak brightness, 5 cameras. what's not to like? pixel has that over processed too hdr looking photos. never been a fan. glad Samsung toned down their saturation and vibrance. also Samsung can shoot 4k120 and 8k on the main and 5x lens.
Amazingly put! I thought the S23u was a BEAST but the s24u is GODZILLA
S24u is still very over processed/over saturated compared to the realistic pics is the pixel ......and I have both
I have both and I agree the camera and photos are better on the 8 pro. Everything else S24U.
@@michaelbrown5680 then you need glasses coz s24 ultra takes better photos than pixel. pixel has an inferior hardware and they compensate due to over processing.
@@BLAKEEATS1988 I think you may need the glasses. Even TH-camrs agree the P8p is realistic whereas the Samsung is overprocessed. Everyone knows that. Samsung been doing that for years. Nothing new
I prefer to buy a phone with zero updates and is working flawlessly from the day that I bought it than to buy a phone with are thousand updates that doesn't work properly it is just frustrating, people shouldn't be spending there had earn money on any phone that is giving them a terrible experience and that is why I have bought the (red magic 8 S pro) and the experience is amazing it is difficult for me to choose another brand of phone because every other brand of phone I have bought, I had to send them back except the (red magic 8S pro) it is just flawless and I am a heavy user The phone is constantly connected to a monitor with keyboard and mouse support along with battery bypass it even have the option to increase the GPU and CPU performance All the user has to do is to find a way to maintain the temperature of the device which I did successfully it's a dream come true for me, and when I am out the phone battery refuses to die it is just amazing
Just don't understand why pixel 8 pro doesn't allow hdmi out.
That would be soooo cool. 😎
Neither phone. Both fall short, the s24 ultra with the price and outdated camera sensors. And the pixel with its gimmicky AI features, short battery life and lagging soc.
It's only $500 more 🙄🙄🙄
Oneplus12 - best feature is value
I agree since I've got one lucky and it's a well balanced device the camera etc is brill but not a gaming phone
I'm here shopping because I am DONE with Google. Flagship P 7 Pro 512 and I am one of the thousands that have useless phones since the March update.. CAlls straight to VM.. Texts delayed for HOURS. This has been going on for weeks and not a PEEP out of Google. April Patch had no fix either. Family worried because they can't reach me for days and Clients wondering why I take hours to get back to them when for years it takes me MINUTES! Can't trust Google anymore. If a Phone can't Phone the rest is just Fluff. Looks like Back to Samsung for me.
Google has recognized this problem . It's a modem problem that started with the 6. Google announced they are switching to a different modem for the 9 specifically to eliminate this problem.
S24 Ultra easily. Not only does it look better, but runs better also. The CPU is also a lot better. Pixel has a slightly better camera but most won't be able to tell.
yup mostly just preference in camera but no one would be able to tell. plus snapdragon blows tensor away.
I promise you you can tell. I went from P7P to S24U and the pictures are trash on the S24U. I have been showing people the side by side comparisons and everyone agrees the P7P is much better. They really screwed up with the camera on the S24U.
@@garybaglin2840 bet you in a blind test you can't tell unless you see a pattern being formed. and you're quite funny to say s24 ultra are trash when it's actually neck and neck if not better than the pixel which totally exaggerates hdr in certain scenarios and over sharpens shots. besides cameras what is the pixel better at? don't worry I'll wait.
UI simplicity, lack of bloat, quality of life features, and speed of updates. In day to day usage the noticable difference in processing power is negligible.
@@garybaglin2840 Ui simplicity meaning less features, no spen, no dex, screen is not anti reflective, not titanium, no 2600 peak brightness, no 4k120 fps, no 4k30 portrait video. one ui had 2 updates after the s24 ultra released. bloatware can easily be unistalled. seems to me pixel amounts to nothing really. might as well call it a nothing phone. BTW, snapdragon VS tensor VS a17, tensor is the slowest. if you use Facebook sure it's negligible but if you game and edit videos it's going to show.
you didnt mention that the s23 ultra is way more expensive
Watching this video on my Pixel 7 Pro.
Stay with it, pixel 8 is a steaming trash pile
If all the advertised AI features of the Pixel 8 Pro were functional in my region, I would not have had to sell it and switch to the Samsung S24 Ultra. Regrettably, unlike the S24 Ultra, not all the AI features are operational.
Don't worry, I'm in a region where I have all the features and they just straight up don't f****** work and Google refuses to acknowledge it
@@conorohagan9947 what specific feature does not work well for you?
@@Spades3647 the simplest answer is the assistant. Any time it needs to update (which is very often) I have to fully uninstall and clear the cache and local data. Then, even when it updates, it does things like "Google, call Verizon wireless" and then it says "okay, calling Verizon wireless!" and proceeds to bring up navigation instead of calling. Just one of 20 problems
I dont understand the 300 dollar gap i think s24 plus is better deal than the ultra overall pixel obviously has the upper hand
Pixel 8 pro is not even in the same league. Hell, the pixel 9 pro won't even be able to compete. I've exchanged the pixel 8 pro 3 times and had heating issues on all three. Tensor is just a terrible chip. Actually, the whole phone is built on cheap hardware. Modem is average, storage is the slow ufs 3.0, and biometrics is basically a flashlight. They tried to cut corners everywhere, which shows.
They cut those corners to be able to sell it for much lower price than the other flagships.
@@awdadwadwad1723 their Nexus phones were supposed to be for cutting corners. The pixels were supposed to be flagships that competed with other flagships.
@@rsbkeyit does compete with other flagships. It's a flagship phone. Does it BEAT the competition? That's what wallets and purses are for. We vote that way. All these phones are great and have their own unique thing.
@jaywright9635 The only thing it hangs with the competition is with its camera and Ai features. The rest is mediocre at best. Not even going to get started with the random overheating.
On pixel 8 pro, I used to get 6 hrs of screen on time, with a total of 8 hours standby. With this s24 ultra I got, I get 8 hrs of screen on time with almost 27 hrs total standby. Pixel doesn't stand a chance.
Nexus was supposed to be budget friendly. Pixel was supposed to be flagship. Instead, they are trying to price it as premium but offer budget hardware.
I got both the s24U and Pixel 8 Pro. The 8 pro is slightly better in the camera. Samsung is better overall. The pixel was maybe 150-200 dollars less. I wanted to try a different android phone for the experience. The 8 pro is a disappointment. When it starts to warm up it definitely slows down bad. Google should ditch the tensor and at least use the exynos processor. It's slightly below the snapdragon in terms of efficiency and performance. It's way better than the tensor chip in performance. My iphone 13 pro spanks the 8 pro in performance and battery life.
I just moved to galaxy s24ultra from pixel. And I made the right choice. All pixelers you will cry with it's battery life span.
This should not even be a question. I have both, well I had both. Got rid of the pixel as soon as I got my 24 ultra. Was actually willing to get rid of it for the 23 ultra. The pixel hype is ridiculous. The software on the pixel is still very glitchy. It won phone of the year because MKBHD is a huge pixel fan. But I'm telling yall it is not as good as the 24 ultra.
I loved Samsung until I got a fold 4. Received it broken in the mail and they absolutely refused to replace it without me coughing up 500 dollars. So yeah I’d go pixel. Had the 6 pro and 7 pro. Loved everything about them. Trading my 15 pro max in soon for the 8 pro
S24 easily android king
I see a lot of S24U owners in the comments so upset that a phone they see as inferior takes better pics than their super premium phone lol 😅
I own neither, but I thought the Samsung pictures looked a lot better. I will admit though, I prefer inkier looking colors rather than accuracy
what about prossesor pixel is going to hang in 2-3 years
I can see from this video s24 screen looks better quality
The Pixel 8 Pro has given me nothing but issues. I'm genuinely disappointed. I've been against Samsung for years now due to some of the political stunts they've pulled. But, I don't think I'm buying another Pixel again.
Watching this on my S24 ultra 😂
S24u always
Best android phone right now is Oneplus 12 Period. $500 less than the other 2. And like 90% the phone as the others.
Nah my s24u still better
What a dumb logic - already by being 90% of the others it cannot be THE BEST. When I want an ultra phone I don‘t look at the price, because it will be on 24 months installments anyway.
The background music is annoying
Pixel 8 pro meanwhile near half-the-price meanwhile
Neither. Oneplus 12
Ewww 😂
Rip OnePlus. Last good phone they had was OnePlus 8 pro.

I personally think the pixel 8 pro is garbage. I ended up cracking the screen on my S21 ultra and decided to go with pixel 8 pro since it was so cheap. Man what a disappointment, so laggy, performance is sluggish and that's compared to my S21 ultra
Pixel for simple fact its a superior camera. Spending 1300 on samsung when photos are blurry isn't smart
