      But you can delete most of the samsung apps, and you can easily hide them so you don't even know they are there. I don't understand this bloatware complaint anymore, it's getting old. Surely you can think of something else that you prefer about the pixels over the samsungs?

    Pixel has won me over with speech to text. I’ve played around with my 6a a lot and found that voice to text and photo editing and magic eraser work off line. It’s doing more on device than I originally thought.

    • @brandonoouah

      Yes! I'm on s23u and the voice to text is horrible with the Samsung Keyboard. It's super slow and inconsistent. Incredibly poor compared to Google Keyboard. And on the Pixel devices you get Next Generation Assistant which can stay on and input punctuation.

      Samsung has deeper editing features, and speech to text is available on Gboard on galaxy as well🤷🏾‍♂️

      @@Gwrightproductions1 ive been using samsung phones for the last 5 years and yes speech to text is on the Gboard but there is a huge difference in the way the two phones process the speech to text and it's a completely different experience on the Pixel. I'm not knocking Samsung because I actually love the OneUI and all of its features and there's some Samsung apps that I prefer to the stock Google apps. Galaxy and Pixel are two different android experiences.

      @@jasonbaker5430 oh yeah you're right. I love my pixel 2XL. I ran out of storage space was the problem. Google makes their apps better on the pixel. On my Pixel 7 the battery life is decent when I'm on wifi but when I'm on strictly mobile data the battery life is horrible. I still run into reception/connectivity issues occasionally also and that's just not acceptable in 2024. Has the Pixel 8 Pro greatly improved on those issues or is 2025's Pixel lineup with the new TSMC made chips (& hopefully better modems) going to be the first chance we may see real improvement there? Please advise your thoughts. Thank you.

    In my country the pixel 8 pro is $200 less than rhe s24+ when both are full price so far from the price of the s24 ultra. I like both brands but am currently on a p8p and very happy with my choice.
    Its not perfect, but no phone is and the battery easily makes it through an enitre day for me. The phone is smooth, snappy, camera rarely gives me a bad photo and makes most of them fabulous and I'm finding rhe simplicity in what it does refreshing.
    Thank you for providing a balanced view.

    I bought the pixel 8 pro and I love it. I also purchased the s24+ which I also really love. I was going to get the s24 ultra, but the trade in for the s24+ was a better deal. I think its a great device. Pretty much every year I get the new pixel because of the stock android and amazing camera. The only thing I wished the p8 pro had was something to compete with Dex. I enjoy the s24+ a lot. If I had to choose between them, I would have to say pixel 8 pro!

    I have both phones. I love using the Pixel 8 Pro. However, there's no comparing the Pixel 8 pro to the S24 Ultra. The Ultra is a true flagship with an all-day battery life. However I do miss a lot of the features from the Pixel, and if they have fixed the modem and it's cell connection issues on the 8 pro and the 9 pro whenever that drops. I totally agree with you. I had been a Samsung fan user 100 percent for 10 plus years. Didn't think I'd ever leave. But I changed carriers and by far the best deal for me was pixel 7 pro with the 8 around the corner. 7 was nice but I was ready to come back to Samsung. But then the 8 pro came out. I get it optimistic it would stay in my possession very long. I was amazed yes the AI number 1 and surprised with the AI the chip is snappy very pleased. Yes you can do benchmark after benchmark and Samsung is superior but in real life you notice no differences and even so all positives now to me outweighs any negatives. I thought I'd miss the S- pen but the AI and my swipe typing has increased my typing to be as fast or faster than using the S-pen.

    Well I love the pixel.. Ive bought the pixel 6, 7, 7 pro and now the 8 which I sold and kept the s24...
    Coz I had to give my pixel 8 at the service centre and apparently the microphone, speakers had some issues and eventually I was told the motherboard itself is damaged.. And to add to that there was some white spot on the display... They changed the display and the other parts, repaired and returned the phone which was then working fine...
    But got me thinking how can so many parts of a phone go bad in just 3 months...! Decided to sell before something else stopped working.. I loved the pixel but the quality is still inferior and parts get spoilt at the drop of a hat..!

    I soured on Samsung for a lot of reasons. A couple of the main ones are their bloatware, crappy software and the (lack of) support for it. I simply wanted the best stock android experience I could find, so I opted for Pixel 8 Pro.

    I'll never understand why people love shitting on the Pixel. They're objectively great phones with smooth fluid software and great cameras. And I'm saying that as a certified Samsung knight. Like right now I'm watching this on my S24U. But for people who like a simpler UI you can't go wrong with a Pixel.

    I´m still using the Pixel 6 Pro since launch, and I´m pretty happy with it.
    If I would like to buy a new phone in 2024 I think I would get again a Pixel phone.
    Samsung is overpriced in my opinion. Also I don´t like the Samsung UI and that software updates takes longer to roll out.
    Google and stock android is a really great experience for me, especially for the very good price performance ratio.

    You will still recomand P8 Pro if I don't live in US? Outside US a lot of Pixel features are not working. I use currently a Pixel 7 Pro and I have to tell you that a lot of Pixel exclusive features are not working if I am not living in America. Pixel 7 Pro is not that good, old hardware, battery drain, heating, poor signal. Of Pixel 8 Pro use the same hardware, I will think twice if I will buy again a phone and after that I will disable features because are draining the battery.

    So what's the avg sot time for a p8p??
    I just got a p8p and the 2nd day battery life is HORRIBLE!! 5h sot at 36% 😱😱😱😱😱
    I'll probably give it a month just to be fair, but my s23 ultra puts this P8P to shame on the battery.
    I get avg of 10-11h sot on my s23 ultra.
    If this p8p can't get at the very least 8h sot then that is a deal breaker (for me)
    I love the camera, love most of the aspects of the p8p, but the battery life is just unacceptable right now.
    How people can accept 6h sot as good as beyond me. That's NOT good by a long stretch. Moto edge plus 2023 10-11h sot, s23 ultra 10-11h sot, p8p 6h sot? 🤔🤔

    Google's privacy invasion, sometimes abandoning Android at times, some selective political manipulation of search results, their anti-free speech stance, and government spying is really making me mad. Whenever I get a new Samsung phone, I either take it out or disable nearly every Google service or app I can. For a while, Samsung was using its partnership with Microsoft and creating apps to support this...

      @TechOdyssey oh god, of course I know that, but google started the android project promising open source and working with everyone, then has locked it down further and further over time, forcing real competitors to shutdown.... Amazon phone could have taken lead on android development but Google killed off Amazon appstore. I used the original satellite phones, palm pilot, the palm phone precursor to apple iPhone, the first samsung phones... the more power google has got, the worse of a company it has become. And they tried kill off the tablet market and move everyone to a more locked down chromeos.

    It's unfair to say the Pixel 8 Pro is $500 cheaper because Samsung has it's own sales and often bundles in extras. The fair way to look at these is based on retail pricing, where the S24 Ultra (base is 256GB of RAM) is $1299 and Pixel 8 Pro is $1059 (256GB of RAM). So the difference is really $249 between the two. The $249 gets you Dex, S-Pen, much better processor, better screen (higher nits, anti-glare, Gorilla Armor), titanium frame, better battery, faster charging, better fingerprint scanner and a more versatile camera system. Up to the individual if all that is worth the extra money. Either way, both phones are top notch.

    • @TechOdyssey
      @TechOdyssey  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s not unfair at all. That’s the current price and has been for well over a month. I discussed MSRP, but this phone will likely be mostly $799 for the remainder of its life.

    • @Nitro2K11
      @Nitro2K11 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@TechOdyssey I agree the Pixel 8 Pro will most likely stay at $799 but Samsung also has sales on the S24 Ultra. So apples to apples would be to compare them both at current sales prices, not just what the Pixel 8 Pro is on sale for. I got the S24 Ultra 512GB on sale for $1100, so only a $120 difference over the equivalent Pixel 8 Pro. I still think Pixel 8 Pro is an excellent phone and you did a great job showing how well it stacks up against the Ultra for a lower price.
