Pete you GOTTA keep this thing! I love seeing it in the shop and given their increasing collector car status it deserves to be cared for by you! Hang on to it buddy!
Way too cool! My dad was the one who created the Mantis Manometer for his E28 M5 (which I’ve since purchased). Needless to say, it’s an absolute *must have* for any S38/M88 owner. Nice work!
The E34s came out when I was in middle school and 10 years later I bought my first car, a 535i/5 which I still own today. I've bought, fixed, modified and sold several other E34s over the years, but always kept my redfive. I've also done the "what's rattling?" only to realize I didn't put the seat bottom back in place. Also, there are modified suspension knuckles now that increase the steering response right off center, based on the E31CSi design. I put them on over the summer and it's such a game changer.
I made my manometer out of some vinyl tube, a meter stick, and a Sharpie. Helped keep my M54's and M96's on the road despite their propensity for emissions recirculation failures. I even used it to diagnose sensor failure on my house HVAC and radon pump! Good tool.
I just want to say two things, after adjusting the ITB you always want to give it a little gas and then let the RPM come down and see if still balanced. And second i enjoyed the test drive in the country so much more then the test drive you guys do around the shop block and onto the highway.
I just love this era of bmw's! Classy build and just the perfect choice of wheels and perfect fitment! I'd keep it and sell some of the hondas to make space for something else. :D
Sweet ride! I love that old school inline 6. Those itbs are just music to the ears. I'd see keep this one over the v8 m5 from previous build series. The wheels look perfect!
I like an adult short shifter. Something around the "25% less throw" range. Those insanely short throws bragging about 70%+ are always garbage. On every platform.
and most of the time the engine speed doesn't lower fast enough to take advantage of "quicker" shifts. unless you have a super light flywheel which is all just dumb for a street car.
@@yaboirico5221 luckily I own and drive mostly V8 stuff, and they inherently have a fairly light flywheel since there's a power pulse every 90° of crank rotation. But a lightweight flywheel in a 4 banger or most 6 cylinders is a sure way to ruin its street car manners lol.
I switched to an x5 shifter, which is longer on *both* sides. Gets the shifter up where it's useful instead of buried down on the console, while still shortening up the shift pattern.
Looks amazing. I would personally raise just a tad bit but perfection. Peter ive always loved your modding style so what you feel looks right is almost the case for everyone with a clean taste.
As I've gotten older I've certainly grown to appreciate the stock shifters in older BMW's. I've got a stock shifter in my E34 540i/6 with a ZHP knob and it's perfect- zero desire to go any shorter, especially since the Getrag 420g is already known for being rather stiff and notchy.
Thanks for posting this build, New viewer but keep up the e34 content please! Also from a fellow OCD’er please have your painter blend onto the doors so it’s not so obvious that the front clip has been replaced/history of front end collision. :)
The wheel and tire combo is perfect for this car, it adds the right amount of aggressiveness. If the car was all original low mile etc then I would keep the factory wheels on
5:30 You set them all without the air box first then check for a difference when the air box is on and then look for what's causing the imbalance , like a leaf in the filter or folded over pleats
Random thought - this reminds me of the original "OG" transporter movie. Also, next time you guys do a K-swap, can you do it on an MR2 Spyder? Thanks for all the videos!
It looks great. 🏆 I would keep it if it's truly your teenage dream car. You may not get another chance to own it once it's gone and you'll be sorry. I own my teenage dream car and i spent 6 years restoring it in a rotisserie myself. Ppl notice my car and give me props every time i take it out. I'll never sell it. 😎
Those E34s are great highway cruisers. It’s a unique vehicle, but I get if you end up selling it on as there isn’t much additional content you can make for this car.
Does it have an underlying crayon smell as well? Every old german car I've owned (several) have had that smell. It's just from the sound deadening beneath the carpet, but an iconic scent for sure 😅
Put the digi sync thing back on after the old school vacuum way to see the readings. It might be decent if you had knowledge of whatt he measurements should be
I think this car is outstanding! Now, personal preference here, but I'm not a fan of the throwing stars. Something BBS for me... but very nice overall, PT
We all know that the nfl e34 M5 is weaker then the fl one,if you like a cruise is ok the 91 model, but if you love to drive it sporty you need the 94 or 95 model .
It is just right I think you should keep that car. That’s a forever car, especially how newer cars are getting filled up with computers and stupid shit that they will never make it again.
IMO,,waste of $$,,,sale list is this beemer,,CONNIE,,LOL has to go,,,and keep that R34 and all those Civics,,anything Honda Nissan or Toyota go UP in value,,everything else is overpriced yard decorations,,anyways I like you guys when you cover decent cars ,,but when you cover money pits as a old tech it just bewilders me,,,SALUTE!
Pete you GOTTA keep this thing! I love seeing it in the shop and given their increasing collector car status it deserves to be cared for by you! Hang on to it buddy!
I'm old school and I'd say to keep this car and sell the newer BMW.
Way too cool! My dad was the one who created the Mantis Manometer for his E28 M5 (which I’ve since purchased). Needless to say, it’s an absolute *must have* for any S38/M88 owner. Nice work!

Honestly, this is a classic... and I can only see this appreciating like crazy as the years go on.

Damn. 10 out of 10. Gorgeous car fellas. Absolutely love it.
The E34 is definitely a must keep! The design and build of it is just beautiful and it gives people a glance of what a great car should look like.
Love it!!! But my ocd just seeing the color difference 🥺 Maybe blend it in to the doors? A dreamcar never the less! ❤🇸🇪
Damn that bimmer looks good! Those wheels compliment the wing really well

Such a clean build, you guys have great taste in cars and mods. You never disapoint with your builds. Much love from Montreal!
Always loved the look of E34 M5 and have always wanted one. Shame the prices have gone so crazy on them.
Love the BMW content. It’s what brought me to your channel some 5 years ago.
You know you can’t sell this beast ;)
It's Definitely a Keeper!
If you have a sync issue you should call a plumber.
GET IT? Sync/plumber.
I’m a legend in my own mind. I slay me. 😂😂😂
I miss the days when BMW styling was so good and you couldn’t really tell why, it just did. 😢
I just love this era of bmw's! Classy build and just the perfect choice of wheels and perfect fitment! I'd keep it and sell some of the hondas to make space for something else. :D
Stance looks sweet! The new take on the old school wheels looks slick too. I really love your channel, fellas. Keep up the great work!

Love this car. Would daily.

Absolute perfection! If it was me, I'd keep this one, by far my favorite BMW!
Loving this series so far!
My fav M5! Maybe see if Iain Tyrell will hop on a plane with his tuning hose 😊
wheels + tires = perfect
Love those wheels on that car. Looks fantastic!

This car is amazing. Wheel set up looks good 👍🏼
That canadian msport interior is a gem in itself.
For the 2nd gear rumble, you might have installed the shift selector rod in reverse which is causing interference with your shifter and giubo.
Real gentleman's build
It looks great! It looks amazing in silver and black inside.
This car looks sooo good!!!
The wheel and tire combo is perfect for this car, it adds the right amount of aggressiveness. If the car was all original low mile etc then I would keep the factory wheels on
If you own the same car as Chris Harris you are doing something right. Love love love this build
So clean. Keep it!
Looks amazing!!
Came out great guys. I really like the wheels and that wing too. Man it looks sweet!
Love those wheels on that car!
Ever since I saw this car in the movie Ronin, I've been in love. I thought about buying one myself....
5:30 You set them all without the air box first then check for a difference when the air box is on and then look for what's causing the imbalance , like a leaf in the filter or folded over pleats
Adjusting ITBs is fascinating stuff, awesome video!
polish or re-chrome the exhaust tips and it's perfect!
Yeah this video solidifies it, PT ain't getting rid of this thing after watching his driving reaction 🤣
I can only recommend poly Bushings for the trans, made a gigantic difference on my e34 in shift quality.
Love these cars!
Spot on for me! ❤
Looks perfect! Awesome car. I would keep it for sure.
Beautiful! Keep it!
Not a single ounce of BMW fangirling was found in this video 😂😂😂
Love the look
Random thought - this reminds me of the original "OG" transporter movie. Also, next time you guys do a K-swap, can you do it on an MR2 Spyder? Thanks for all the videos!
Keep this one. Na 6 itb! It’s glorious!
Perfect!!!
@17:00 color match on the new fender looks a bit off. I can't remember if you guys buffed the rest of the car though.
love it, keep it.
thats a keeper!!!
Carb stix! I use those for motorcycles but mine only has 4 tubes. Nice!
Seems like that beemer needs A LOT of attention! Other than that, sick OG ride and those wheels are perfect for it!
I love this car so much. Don’t get rid of it……..ever.
Gotta know what phone mount you're running?
I think it would look betterr wiithout the wing, but dunno
Those E34s are great highway cruisers. It’s a unique vehicle, but I get if you end up selling it on as there isn’t much additional content you can make for this car.

It's not the changing of leaves, it's the crayon smell when the heater is first turned on that brings in the change of season for me.
@MichaelAMangone haha yeah, and in my case, strange burning smells, which I think is just a vacant mouse nest against the heater core 😌
Put the digi sync thing back on after the old school vacuum way to see the readings. It might be decent if you had knowledge of whatt he measurements should be
You should invite Sreten to come and do a collab with your BMW fleet.
Keep it
Great looking car. Don’t love the throwing stars though.
KEEP IT!
I think this car is outstanding! Now, personal preference here, but I'm not a fan of the throwing stars. Something BBS for me... but very nice overall, PT
Seeing you sync those throttle bodies was giving me major PTSD from when I was trying to sync them on my 4cyl Yamaha Fazer.
Car looks fantastic. So much want. Let me know if you sell it!
We all know that the nfl e34 M5 is weaker then the fl one,if you like a cruise is ok the 91 model, but if you love to drive it sporty you need the 94 or 95 model .
The rear wing looks cheap. The little spoiler lip was perfekt.
Just right
You need Rogue Engineering shifter
I'll buy it
Do you sell that jacket that DP is wearing?
Why isn’t it two tone?
It looks god damn right
That car is beautiful, don’t change a thing. Do not sell that beast.
I'd actually raise the ride height probably 10mm or so, and it would look about right for me
That’s about as close as you are going to get TB’s that have a lot of miles and time on them
Does SA have a Discord? I saw it mentioned in the perks but I cannot find it anywhere
Looks awesome and you should check yourself into an insane asylum if you sell it 🤣
Remove the rear wing and put the standard wheels back on. In my opinion.
It is just right I think you should keep that car. That’s a forever car, especially how newer cars are getting filled up with computers and stupid shit that they will never make it again.
Lose the wings please.
I like wheels but driving in GTA daily I would make it just a smidge higher
Ma-nah-mi-ter
sell e90, keep e34 and f31
This is a dream car of mine but my wife doesn't like old boxy cars 🫤
I've never understood why BMW's stock shifters are so mush. They really should have improved the design at some point but lol nope.
Sell the newer 1😅
IMO,,waste of $$,,,sale list is this beemer,,CONNIE,,LOL has to go,,,and keep that R34 and all those Civics,,anything Honda Nissan or Toyota go UP in value,,everything else is overpriced yard decorations,,anyways I like you guys when you cover decent cars ,,but when you cover money pits as a old tech it just bewilders me,,,SALUTE!
