The most beautiful video ever , very organized , very informative, amazing camera views, have all the parts available for other people to buy and included the torque specs , very good job , i wish all videos were like this
Very well done! I have had my 2013 Forester to the dealer twice to fix this issue. It was still leaking and they told me I had a crack in my case, around the seal. I couldn’t see one and from where it was leaking I couldn’t help but think they pinched the O-ring on install. If I would have known it was so easy to do myself, I never would have taken it in. It fixed my leak. Thanks for the high quality and very well done video. The links made it super easy to get what I needed.
Great job. Thanks! I have one suggestion: I couldn't get the axle out of the hub, but I was able to pull the the entire wheel assembly and get the axle out of the box. Because there was some tension on it, I didn't want to damage the seal putting the axle back in, so I slid the seal assembly over the axle before putting it back in. That also meant I didn't have work so hard at getting the axle in the spline.
nice video. you fogort to lock the axle nut to secure the tyre, i once travelled 1400 kilometers on unlocked axle nut and it was near dissaster. Thanx for such an informative video.
No problem! It's always a drag when a video has great content, but you have to spend hours making sure you're finding the correct parts/tools. Way easier when you have a link showing you exactly where you can get what you need!
Ya I had some shop replace my driver axle seal 4 years ago I always had a bearing noise around the transmission area after that never realized those out preload on the bearings and I don’t think they did either definitely didn’t count as they took it out
I forgot to mark and count the bearing holder assembly’s initial position. Would it be possible to measure the height between the untouched bearing holder and the trans and match that?
Exactly what I needed. Same car ezactly. I did this before without removing the retainers. Everything looks good, but it leaks. Like a dumbass, I winnged it. Hopefully this time is the last. BTW, seals from Subaru were cheaper than discount auto.

video is fantastic, thank you so much.
Thanks. I have to do this on my 07 WRX.
Good job. Probably the easiest pinch ball joint bolt removal I ever see on older Subaru's, lol. Did you removed recently before this project?

Gracias amigo !!!
Could you also put in the seal from the other side of that retainer ring? So you dont have to remove it from the differential housing?
Yes there's no need to remove the pretensioned bearings just pop it out with a screwdriver use the old seal to tap the new one in.
Can you replace the bearing in the differential
Is it flush with the diff side or the driveshaft side. Getting a mix of both
Will axels from a wrx fit on a non turbo model. And also do axels from an automatic fit on a manual trans?

did you forget to steak the axle nut at the end, or lost that step during editing?
I have a 2009 wrx 5 speed manual would this fit ?
Thanks!!!!
thanks!
That pry bar put a lot of damage on the ring after the reinstallation. Are you sure that was the right tool to use?
Good for torque specs ig
screw the hub nut into the thread
sorry for my English
You dont have to do all that. Just pop them out and drive the new ones in
