By the time you figure that path out(unless you looked it up) plenty stranger things have occured.

In the start of Portal 2 you get a "press space to talk" which causes you to jump.

Assassins creed 2 where you have to hug Leonardo and you mess up and you have to replay the entire game because you feel bad
Pretty much hahaha. like all the button prompts in the cutscenes are so weirdly placed, like you dont know when a button prompt comes up and you cant ever just sit back to watch a cutscene

I was expecting Assassin’s Creed® 2 to be here, but not for this one. I was thinking about the very first button prompt when you have to move baby Ezio’s limbs and head.
Also from assassins creed 2 is learning how to be a baby by pressing all the buttons. To kick punch and then cry

I'm assuming that Bruce Wayne makes sure the chalk mark keeps getting redrawn, he's a billionaire, he can pay for it.
To be fair, weird as the sneak attack kiss is in Shadow of Mordor, that's game's tutorial is genius in its ability to not be the usual jarring annoyance on a second playthrough. It actually teaches you game mechanics *while conveying story*!

At the beginning of the video, when they had the "prompt" titled "Press spacebar for a dramatic pause", at first I just laughed a bit because it was their own weird prompt. Then I realized spacebar pauses the video, which would in turn cause a dramatic pause! That's so clever! 🤣
what about in undertale when you "press z to encorage your snail"?

I think with the Dark Souls one, it's more like you're curling up into a ball so you're easier for the giant bird to carry. Crows are smart birds, she probably knows why you're there

Don't know the game, but this was the first idea that came to my mind.
I was super unprepared for when it told us to hug leonardo in assassin's creed 2. Totally missed it, he probably took it the wrong way.

Maybe it's because it's not entirely unexpected. The rest of these come out of nowhere. When Wheatley asks you to nod or whatever, and you jump, when he makes his next suggestion of "say Apple" you can kinda guess that it'll prompt again.
It still deserves a place on this list though. No doubt.

"Press (button) to time travel" in Titanfall 2 was a good one. Helps that what followed was one of the coolest gimmick-centric levels in FPS history.
What in Deadpool when you got a multiple button prompts to smack Wolverine in the face? Very unexpected but not out of character in the slightest!

In L.A Noire its pretty regular and happens multiple times. that's the same reason you don't see a game like Detroit become human in this list there are probably many weird button prompts but its regular and expected within the genre.

Batman Arkham Knight's "press L1/LB to 'even the odds'" is one of my personal favorites.

On the Batman one, I think it's supposed to be that Hugo Strange redid the outline to mess with Batman, hence the tape being left there

Shadow of the Tomb Raider has this, too.
Minecraft at the beginning it tells you to punch wood which for a new player is very weird but for seasoned players is instinctive

This is how weird Dark Souls is: the button prompt 'Touch Bloodstain' went by on-screen without even a comment.

To be fair, the place where Batman's parents died is literally called, "Crime Alley." Those could just be the outlines of two randos who happened to be brutally murdered on the same spot.

In Battlefield 4, you press F to amputate someone's leg, so you know, that's not horrifying or anything.

The one that just really caught me off guard was at the ending of Final Fantasy XV when you all of a sudden have to press a button to use the Ring of the Lucii to finish off Ardyn during a cutscene after like 15ish minutes of cutscenes. My controller actually turned off and I had to turn it back on and reconnect it just to hit the prompt
A button prompt I remember is Hold A to Heal Partner in The Evil Within, where you can somehow heal your buddy-cop Joseph Oda without the need for medkits, or any recognizable medical process, for that matter. You only need the powers of button-pressing.

I think the reason why the scene in Arkham CIty still has the body chalks in it is because of Strange. He drew it there as a part of his big plan in order to dishearten Batman. If I'm not mistaken, if you visit the site, you'll come across an audio log from Strange.
Final Fantasy 15 when having Promto's photography ability....
You can use it to.... Make photo's in Mid battle...
Yeah... fighting brutal cold blooded monsters, behemoths or even the Enpires Robotic army. Promto loves nothing as much as photography... while an enraged house sized monster charges at him ofcourse. Cause thats how you get the best photo's.. and the best chance to lose your life~
That moment you pause the vid at 0:11 to respond to someone without looking at the screen, you look back and see "Press spacebar for dramatic pause".
