I just wanted to take a minute to thank u for all your videos. Specifically this one. I just had my baby. Ended up having it at home alone in my hot tub because my husband was on the way back from work and didn't arrived until the baby was already here. 6 hrs of labor and all that time i never felt i needed any medication or anything. I actually didn't realized i was in labor until like 30 mins before baby was born. I thought were braxton contracting. I used your breathing technique the whole time. Thank u. U are wonderful. 6 hrs labor, 13 mins pushing. I'm officially a vbac momma now and I successfully achived an unassisted, natural home birth. 🙏

I agree, I always get hung up on doing the count, which isn't very relaxing! But definitely want to try this method. 😀

My brain really struggles to visualize… but I really like this method rather than counting. The counting method just makes me feel light headed and out of breath

This is so helpful. I hated the counting with my first. I couldn't do it. Practicing this imaging is much more natural and I can definitely see how useful it will be.

I love your content! My husband and I are starting to try for a baby and I’m doing everything I can to prepare and practice ahead of time. I think it would be so so helpful if you could make a video to help prepare birthing partners on what they can do to help and how they play a part in the process 🫶🏼 I’m not sure my husband knows what to expect

I’ve watched a ton of videos trying to find a refresher since it’s been almost 7 years since my first Hypnobirth experience. Now that I’m older, busier, and carry a lot more stress it’s been harder to practice total relaxation. The permission to not have to count exhales really helped, thank you! Love your upbeat, simply, yet direct style of teaching🤍

Never liked counting while breathing. There’s something OCD about it. So easy to focus on the neurotic part of managing a count.

During upstage breathing, do you lift / contract the pelvic floor as you exhale?

  • @lindawa2073

I have about 4 weeks to go and when I try this breathing technique, I feel like i can't get my lungs to fully expand anymore, because they habe less space now... 😅 Would you say its just a matter of practice or that it's also possible to reach a certain stage of trance with shorter breaths?

Goodness, I’m only now learning all about YT and answering comments from AGES ago! Yes, it can be tricky when your baby is right up under your rib cage. This is when the visualisations really come into their own. So take the focus off the lack space and just breathe to the image in your mind. Relax all the while. I hope that your births went well, apologies for the crazy slow response! I’ve been getting tech lessons from my kids 😆. Melanie x
