While it is a no brainer the 5090 will be the winner, the question is it enough of an improvement to justify the massive and ridiculous price difference. Progress should actually also be = producing the same output for less money = more output per euro. Then the performance requirements of games can also increase, not before. But this is not happening on the hardware market, the games market or in many other areas. So progress is not going any forward, but the requirements are getting higher.
You don't have to like what they're doing but please use some common sense. They are going to make a shit load of money, which as a business, is really what they're in it for.
there is no 50% increase in raster... MAXIMUM 40% and i guess for 30% real fps boost from 4090. it will cost 2.1 to 2.2k€ in europe for the FE , it's an incredible joke, can't wait to see the ROG at 3000€
If this is actually the rumored 600w and not 450 it's a hard pass for me. Almost double the tdp of my 3090 would be absolutely insane. Guess we'll see.
Yeah just stick with that beautiful 3090 and make sure to get the "lossless scaling" program on steam for just a few bucks. It can be used in so many different configurations and has many different use cases. It's just incredible at what it's able to do. I personally use it in every single game (sometimes with Nvidia's DSR), TH-cam, adult content, films, tv shows and VR. The more you actually understand all of its settings, the better use and graphical uplift you get out of it.
I totally get why they are limiting VRAM on the 5060, it's to push people to buy the higher tier card. But why 16 on the 5080? I don't think anyone will go with the 5090 instead just because they want a bit more memory. The only reason I can think of that makes sense is that NVIDIA is so confident that AMD won't have anything to match the 5080 that they're intentionally holding back on the specs, maybe hoping that people will come right back to buy another card in 2-3 years when games release that require more than 16 gigs.
@@emilemil1 I'm going to wager the 5080 will barely even be an upgrade. 15-20% tops. At this point in time my opinion is a 7900XTX is better value considering it's around 3% ahead of the 4080s as of now if they don't stop making it.
Absolutely ridiculous price and only the only people that can afford those are people who really don't have to work anymore cuz they're already rich.. I mean after taxes that's probably going to be over two grand
but didn't we all ready know that and also know it's not designed for the rest of em, I mean cmon it's not your first rodeo and you wern't born Tuesday.
I paid $1799 for my MSI RTX4090 Gaming X Trio, shipped and sold by Newegg, so if I can get a RTX5090 for only $100 more I might do it, after seeing the real reviews. Just think, the main people who will be buying these are the people who own RTX4090's now, since there isn't any other upgrade choice for them other than not to upgrade. The market should be flooded with cheap RTX4090s!
4090s are going for 2k+ many for 2.4k+ coz of supply and demand. if a 5080 matches raster perf of a 4090 but has better rt but less vram it's unlikely the 4090 will be that much cheaper still around the price of a 5080.This would be like the 3090ti was to the 4080 at its launch.
@@Caveman787 32gb of g7 512 bit bus no competition a slightly better node. A 754mm2 die this is a 2k+ gpu msrp. Aib will charge us 2.2k or 2.3k. This is what no competition does. Imagine if top rdna5 can't beat the 5090 that will be depressing
Looks like I won't even be interested in this release. Why? I'm rocking a 5900x OC'd to ~5.0 GHz with a 4090 and the system is balanced and runs most games maxed at 4k with DLSS and frame gen. It's been a perfect experience especially after I got my first 4k high refresh rate monitor. Sure, with newer games I'll probably have to compromise on some settings, but who in the hell can tell the difference between high and ultra presets especially with these days' developers? I'm not interested in building an entirely new system (because the 5900x would bottleneck the 5090 hard) for a 40% uplift in 4k gaming and some extra VRAM which I do not need. Also, 600 watts? My room is already warm enough! I am also disgusted at NVIDIA's behavior re: locking DLSS to newer cards when their old cards can run AMD's upscaler and frame gen just fine, kneecapping what would be powerful cards with bullshit amounts of VRAM (see videos of people upgrading VRAM on 3070 and be amazed), and effectively locking decent/normal performance one would expect from mid-range hardware 10 years ago behind a massive paywall that a vast majority of their gaming consumer base cannot afford. Why would I continue giving these people money? And don't get me started on this AI nonsense. Neural rendering? You're going to revolutionize the way graphics are rendered and push that into a gaming industry that still cannot implement raytracing and pathtracing properly? Do you really expect these meathead DEI hires to wrap their heads around a complete rethinking of realtime rendering when they have trouble getting some rays to bounce around in a game engine and denoiser without getting 20 FPS before upscaling the shit out of it? I highly doubt it, its going to be a disaster and it's going to make games run worse for the vast majority of players unless they are making six figures, a continuation of the same problem that RT and DLSS has caused. TLDR; you shouldn't buy this, most CPUs wont even take advantage, NVIDIAs behavior is disgusting. Tech is moving too quickly for devs. Keep your hardware for as long as you can, because right now its a grift on a 2 year cycle.
this. I see so many "my 3090 (or 4070Ti) is good for another gen" comments. I saw a person calling RTX 5000 buyers brain damaged and stupid. This person owns a 4070Ti...
Approximate FPS Gains: Assuming the RTX 4090 delivers 100 FPS in a hypothetical game at 4K Ultra settings, here’s how the other cards compare: GPU Estimated FPS Gain Over Previous Tier RTX 4090 100 FPS Baseline RTX 5090 130-140 FPS ~30-40% Titan AI 150-160 FPS ~50-60%
@@Jason-hx9pu The reason I referenced the RTX 4090 is because I'm using it as a baseline for FPS to work out performance differences. For example, if the 4090 delivers 100 FPS in a game, the rumored 48% performance boost for the 5090 would mean roughly 148 FPS. Similarly, the Titan AI's 63% boost would push it to around 163 FPS. Using the 4090 as a baseline helps give us a frame of reference for how these cards might perform
Actually not that impressed w 5090. The jump from 3k to 4k series was much larger, and a 4070 Super roughly matches performance of 3090. If the 5080 doesn't obliterate the 4090, theyre trying to rip us off and we should collectively boycott Nvidia until they bring back performance per dollar value.
It's too late, you can't do anything. Gaming makes up a damn near single digit percentage of their revenue these days. Even a 100% boycott would just give them reason to abandon GeForce completely and improve their logistics for their real customers. Be grateful they still make consumer cards at all.
TBH I am scared about the 5080 pricing considering the 40 series is still expensive. This is going to painful. Hopefully AMD and Intel can bring some relief to the market.
I have a 4090 that I got specifically for video editing, my biggest interest in how much faster the 5090 is at rending videos compared to the 4090. I don't know if it would actually be worth the upgrade.
Comparing the 40x0 series to the 50x0 series in parallel doesn't make sense. The 5090 isn't an upgrade for the 4090, it's a completely different card. The numbers are only branding and have no technical meaning. The comparison should be between different members of the 50x0 series. The only 40x0 series card it makes sense to compare with is the 4090 so we can see how the new series will sit around the most powerful card currently available.
When they are announced what website do you buy from? Will they be available on Amazon and New Egg on release, or will you have to buy from Nvidia directly? And do non-founder’s edition cards come out at the same time?
No… they have 5090D for that spot! They don`t have to sell faulty chips as 5080ti… they can sell them as 5090D! In the past they did sell those faulty ones as ti version…. Now they have better income with D-versions!
I'm happy to be able to afford all models. I'll be buying a few 5080s/5090s for my friends and family as a late Christmas present. I'll probably resell a few, too.
It's supposed to be the apex of Nvidia's next gen offer. More powerful than 5090. Not much is known about it tho. Not even whether it will actually reach the market at all. Just like the Titan Ada, current gen Nvidia boss card. Not many has heard of this card because it never hit the shelves. Judging by its name it's obviously meant primarily for AI researchers and enthusiasts.
Considering the 20%-40% global inflation over the past two years, the significant increase in labor costs in Taiwan, and the higher production costs of GDDR7, I doubt the RTX 5090 will be priced at $1,899. A more realistic estimate would be around $2,500 for the RTX 5090 and $1,300 for the RTX 5080.
Assuming it's 40%+ improved performance this will 100% be something I will pick up. I own a 4090 so if I pawn that off on eBay I will probably get 1000-1600 dollars back to better justify the purchase.
@@MintyQuarterz We don't know yet. This is all speculation. We will have to wait and see when it gets sent out to tech channels and its embargo gets released.
the upselling in this gen is gonna go crazy, 5090 almost double sms of a 5080 and it also had double the vram... And they will still try to sell the 5080 for at least 900+ too
Well the "rumor" has it it will have 77% more memory bandwidth. Nvidia doesn't hand that out without reason so it should be much faster than just 40% particularly in bandwidth heavy stuff like Path Tracing.
I'd say take the leaks with a grain of salt as always, but a big elephant in the room I noticed you didn't mention which is actually highlighted in bold: - On the VideoCardz specs leak table at 2:45, how can the RTX 5080 have a faster memory speed of 30 Gbps than the flagship cards above it, with less memory and less cache on top? Doesn't make any sense to me at all...... 2Gbps difference is also not insignificant, it's noticeably faster.
why are you comparing 1600 dollars to 1900, the 4090 never sold for msrp from jump and if this card starts at 1900 then guess what, actual start price will be 2299. Price gouging starts immediately just like 4090
I can't really be excited for the 5090 since that card will have an insane pricetag and will probably be unobtanium due to scalpers... I can't be excited for the 5080 since it is specced like a 5070 an will also probably be 1000$+... I can't be excited for the 5070 because that card is kneecapped due to 12 GB of vram on a core that is about as powerfull as a 4080, i can't be excited for the 5060 because it is basically a 5030 and only has 8GB of vram... so... yeah... no 50 series for me...
I think its going to follow the trend of driver updates slow down previous gen cards and the legitimate 15% gains look like 40%. All while costing 50% more and unless you open it up and check the modules yourself cant trust it even has GDDR7. Hell, over half the owners of 4090's play at 1080p anyway. 99% of us should be way more excited about a $500 RX8800XT and similarly priced Arc B770
I hope Intel winning with B580 is showing AMD what to do with the 8800XT. If it’s around 7900XTX pace with RT improvements and 20-24Gb VRAM it might be interesting.
that 5090..... less than 40% more performance over a 4090 for more money. i already felt like an idiot for paying for a 4090 two years ago. i gave up on my hopes to build a new pc next year, i spent my money elsewhere so i can not waste my money on a new pc.
Soon Windows 10 will not be supported, since you are supporting windows 10 and 11 here, will you also be giving discounts for continued windows 10 updates after its end of life?

2.5ghz to 2.8ghz is pretty reasonable if we get more that'll be even better
@sewercell my 4090 could do 3ghz easy, expecting this thing to hit at least 3.2 hopefully 3.5....can't wait to see how it overclocks
Im Interested to see results between a 5090 and an Rx 7900 RTX. While it is a no brainer the 5090 will be the winner, the question is it enough of an improvement to justify the massive and ridiculous price difference. For anyone wanting a 50 series card, wait till next year and possibly save hundreds of dollars
All i Care for IS rasteraziation Performance.
Dude a fucking 3090 is better than the 7900xtx in almost all aspects besides pure rasterization in which the 7900xtx BARELY wins

They took the Vram from the 5060s and didn't lower their price, lol
They should stop releasing new cards unless they can double the performance from each gen per $
A 50% performance increase is not insane. That is garbage, considering how expensive graphics cards are getting.
Based on YOUR utility curve.
there is no 50% increase in raster... MAXIMUM 40% and i guess for 30% real fps boost from 4090.
it will cost 2.1 to 2.2k€ in europe for the FE , it's an incredible joke, can't wait to see the ROG at 3000€
your garbage
I'm going from a 2080Ti so +50% is more for me and well worth it!
@@AngelOfDeath420 yeah im with a 3090 ti
Yay, another generation I can't afford.
It's only gonna get worse
I am gonna call it. The 5090 is gonna be sold for $3000 by scalpers.
Nah 4k lol get it??
That's what the 3090s were selling for on Ebay back in the day. And the 4090s are selling for more than that right now!
Don’t out that evil out into the world, real talk you will actually give people ideas
Who cares? Don't buy from scalpers. Problem solved.
Nah 4000€+
Absolutely ridiculous price and only the only people that can afford those are people who really don't have to work anymore cuz they're already rich.. I mean after taxes that's probably going to be over two grand
but didn't we all ready know that and also know it's not designed for the rest of em, I mean cmon it's not your first rodeo and you wern't born Tuesday.
@trauma50disaster1 you are correct 100%.. I'm just complaining is all. No matter how many times I see and hear the prices it just blows me away is all
Not true. I know people who work Normal jobs and can afford it
I paid $1799 for my MSI RTX4090 Gaming X Trio, shipped and sold by Newegg, so if I can get a RTX5090 for only $100 more I might do it, after seeing the real reviews.
Don't expect the better models like yours to be $100 up. Add another $200+ Premium.
4090's still getting sold for msrp in the 2nd hand market for me.
Ull pay +500. Premium on trade in if not more. I'm keeping my 4090 for 10 years navidia discontinued the 4090 just to sell the 5090. On purpose
Lmao AKA you’re bottlenecking your overpriced GPU got it
Just curious 🤔
How many people here are complaining about Nvidia while owning an Nvidia GPU from the last 3 gens?
Ok fair. I did buy a 3080 but I bought it on the used market for $350
that's one good deal
@VeysTheGreat ya I won it in eBay auction
this. I see so many "my 3090 (or 4070Ti) is good for another gen" comments. I saw a person calling RTX 5000 buyers brain damaged and stupid. This person owns a 4070Ti...
Approximate FPS Gains:
Assuming the RTX 4090 delivers 100 FPS in a hypothetical game at 4K Ultra settings, here’s how the other cards compare:
GPU Estimated FPS Gain Over Previous Tier
RTX 4090 100 FPS Baseline
RTX 5090 130-140 FPS ~30-40%
Titan AI 150-160 FPS ~50-60%
chart is incomplete, you didn't list 8k
@ people want to focus on hitting 240hz at 4k, 8k isn’t realistic at high frames yet.
how does the 4090 compare to the 5080?
@@DefendYourGains true, forgot to mention I'm a casual and 60fps at 8k is fine fo me
@@Jason-hx9pu The reason I referenced the RTX 4090 is because I'm using it as a baseline for FPS to work out performance differences.
This is such a joke lineup of cards.
Why does this dude sound like the display guy dude? Did I really come across a clone?
BRUH I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST ME?!!
It's his other channel.

Get all the scalpers to buy them so they can be left in debt when no one buys them 😂
4090 vs 5080= win 4090?
yup thats how they do it
Kinda sucks seeing the 4090 when hearing the 5090 being talked about. Kinda misleading the eyes
"I have the specs" ❌️
"Could, should, may, probably, maybe, we'll have to see..." ✅️
So whats the release date?
We need graphics card tuners soon
Actually not that impressed w 5090. The jump from 3k to 4k series was much larger, and a 4070 Super roughly matches performance of 3090.
If the 5080 doesn't obliterate the 4090, theyre trying to rip us off and we should collectively boycott Nvidia until they bring back performance per dollar value.
It's too late, you can't do anything. Gaming makes up a damn near single digit percentage of their revenue these days. Even a 100% boycott would just give them reason to abandon GeForce completely and improve their logistics for their real customers. Be grateful they still make consumer cards at all.
Is that the price before tariffs or after?
Before.
k lib
Buying a 5090 at full price will be equivalent to buying a whole gaming pc with a 4080 super!
TBH I am scared about the 5080 pricing considering the 40 series is still expensive. This is going to painful. Hopefully AMD and Intel can bring some relief to the market.
“If this does in fact have 32gb of ram”
Where has this channel been at the past month?
Hey give us your thoughts on what monitor should be paired with these cards and if not now then after ces when we may hear potential concrete specs.
I have a 4090 that I got specifically for video editing, my biggest interest in how much faster the 5090 is at rending videos compared to the 4090. I don't know if it would actually be worth the upgrade.
The price is a speculation. It will be decided 5 mins before Jensen goes to the CES stage
Is the price right? Definitely cheaper that I expected!
Or is this the limited founder edition price? Rest are ower $2000?
Will not buy Nvidia or AMD. Intel came to the rescue . Do not care about 400fps, i care about prices. Intel gets my money.
Zero chance end users can get their hands on this for $1,899.
Wait till the GPU price gets marked up to oblivion
The real question is is what I’m gonna be able to get for my 4090 on eBay when this comes out.
As this isn't gaming card rather mining tool price is justified. ;-)

With our dollar tanking and taxes, the 5090 will be well over $3k in Canada. Unimaginable.
That's the price of a car or pc...how is it unimaginable? It's for hard-core enthusiasts not your average consumer
5080 won't be an upgrade if u have a 4090 and only 16gb means it's a hard pass
When they are announced what website do you buy from? Will they be available on Amazon and New Egg on release, or will you have to buy from Nvidia directly? And do non-founder’s edition cards come out at the same time?
5080Ti for close to 5090, but half the price?...
it will be over 1200
No… they have 5090D for that spot! They don`t have to sell faulty chips as 5080ti… they can sell them as 5090D!
In the past they did sell those faulty ones as ti version…. Now they have better income with D-versions!
5090 may be the first nvidia card I buy as long as it stays under 1900
Impressive performance... but at that cost it's unreasonable for most regular gamers (I'm a regular gamer)
Most current cpus are going to bottleneck this thing. You absolutely have to run everything at max settings.
I'm happy to be able to afford all models. I'll be buying a few 5080s/5090s for my friends and family as a late Christmas present. I'll probably resell a few, too.
same, i'll even buy 1 for u
What is Titan AI?
It's supposed to be the apex of Nvidia's next gen offer. More powerful than 5090. Not much is known about it tho. Not even whether it will actually reach the market at all. Just like the Titan Ada, current gen Nvidia boss card. Not many has heard of this card because it never hit the shelves.
Judging by its name it's obviously meant primarily for AI researchers and enthusiasts.
Only kidneys are accepted instead of cash.
Closer to 50% actually
@@MintyQuarterz We don't know yet. This is all speculation. We will have to wait and see when it gets sent out to tech channels and its embargo gets released.
this GPU is no longer for gaming when we have graphics stuck in 2012
the upselling in this gen is gonna go crazy, 5090 almost double sms of a 5080 and it also had double the vram... And they will still try to sell the 5080 for at least 900+ too
5080 gonna be $1099 or $1199
You mean 1199?
Well the "rumor" has it it will have 77% more memory bandwidth. Nvidia doesn't hand that out without reason so it should be much faster than just 40% particularly in bandwidth heavy stuff like Path Tracing.
The real question is, should 4090 gamers update to the 5090? Is the performance gain worth it?
ofc no
@@EchozTV yes. 5090 is a beast in 4K and actually feels like a real 4K card
I'd say take the leaks with a grain of salt as always, but a big elephant in the room I noticed you didn't mention which is actually highlighted in bold: -
On the VideoCardz specs leak table at 2:45, how can the RTX 5080 have a faster memory speed of 30 Gbps than the flagship cards above it, with less memory and less cache on top?
4:11 32/24 = 1.5?
I feel like in games with cyberpunk path tracing the gain will be huge
That’s literally my entire pc with a rx 7900 xtx and 14700k who tf would buy this
I'm probably still buying one to upgrade my 4090.

32 GB of vram is honestly wasteful
No it's not, with 4k texture mods in cyberpunk i get vram issues going over 24gb.
@medovk it is wasteful when most people who buy the card won't even use half of it
@ydkma better to have more then less, especially in this price range
Email Jensen to reduce the vram because it's wasteful.
Not going to be under $2000. Gonna be closer to mid $2500
A waste of money in my opinion. You could do so much more with that money.
well foty, you can do so much with that money AND get the card with other money.
Is there some kind of law which states you have to speak like this person to do games tech content on the internet?
I hope Intel winning with B580 is showing AMD what to do with the 8800XT. If it’s around 7900XTX pace with RT improvements and 20-24Gb VRAM it might be interesting.
In bang per buck terms, $2000 is 50 Gigaflops per dollar.
that 5090..... less than 40% more performance over a 4090 for more money. i already felt like an idiot for paying for a 4090 two years ago.
i gave up on my hopes to build a new pc next year, i spent my money elsewhere so i can not waste my money on a new pc.
