When I first started making resin charms and environments, I was really nervous! Here are some helpful diy hacks to help you feel more prepared to use this medium. ^_^ Resin is not always easy to use when you are a beginner so having some basic crafting hacks is always helpful in your everyday use of this product.

Oh I also wanted to add that everyone should wear gloves, not just people with sensitive skin. It can produce an allergy in anyone, even if they don't normally have skin reactions.

I really wish someone had stressed to me to NOT use water to clean your cups. I have some sparkly plates now thanks to water splashing about with resin still in it. Lol. I personally clean my tiny measuring cups using cooking spray (or oil) and dish soap.

Your a great teacher. I've been afraid to try resin because it looks hard on some TH-camrs channel. You explain it and make it look easy. I made a set of wedding rings for a friend, she and her husband have metal allergies but wanted rings. Thank you for showing me how simple it is to use.

I've watched your videos for a couple of years Jackie and finally decided I wanted to try resin for myself after being scared of it for a long time. Glad I found this in your catalogue, I don't know why I missed it before!
The tip for reusing the plastic cups is environmentally friendly so I'll be using that one for sure!
Wondering if you had time to remake this one in your current video style and have a throwback video one day? Maybe there's some more tips you picked up (or some of the cool ones people posted in the comments - getting lots of ideas for saving expired resin in there) that would be great for us newbies!

I'm glad I discovered this channel for this.
I'm in the process of making a resin pendant for my girlfriend for our anniversary. The green plumbob diamond from The Sims.
I'm planning to make the shape out of sculpey, make a mold using molding putty, then pour resin into the mold. It's very useful to see that using the molding putty is going to result in a matte finish because I am aiming for a shiny finish. So I'm glad you included the part about how to make a matte finish into a shiny finish. :-)
I've never worked with any of these materials before, so I hope it turns out alright.

Hi! I don't know if anyone's said this yet in the comments, but it's been my experience that envirotex lite is a very yellow, very overpriced, very bubbly resin compared to other options out there. I know a lot of people use it because it's always the one available at the craft store, but it has a bad reputation for being a low quality resin. I use clear cast 7000 and it's crystal clear, very very low bubbles, AND low in price. Gorgeous stuff and they give you so much for your money! It makes me sick when I walk by the price for envirotex lite at Michaels, especially when you're only getting tiny bottles of it!
Try out clearcast7000 and look at the difference in your pieces. Like night and day people, night and day:)

One of my fav hacks is to use a candle warmer for the part A. It makes a difference when doing big projects like canvas or tumblers. It also helps a lot when the weather its cold. It reduces the bubbles and make it very liquid to work with. (Also, gives me more time to work).

Watching all of your craft videos and reviews and unboxings of Sophie and toffee boxes made me really want to get a box and try it for myself! I’m totally new to the resin and clay world but your clay hacks helped a lot. I was wondering if u would do a big tips and tricks and beginners guide for the resin and uv resin for beginners like me? I watched the one tips video u had but I feel like it wasn’t too helpful because it was older and the pieces I’ve seen u do recently r so much more advanced now. It would be a huge help for me and anyone else starting with resins. Thanks! LOVE your channel❤️

Plain white chalk is very inexpensive, a dollar for a box of them. You can use this instead of paint to get an opaque white background. Just make sure there are no large chunks, only powder, before mixing it in.

I was just testing a polymer clay idea, made one piece and loved it, but I wanted to see what it looked like with resin. I didn't want to mix up the resin so I used Epoxy 330 glue, which dries extra clear, and really fast - and it did an awesome job. Looks exactly like resin, and told me that it was a test worth doing, for both the clay and the glue. Not that I don't use resin, but for just a couple pieces, both small, Epoxy 330 was just the thing to use. Other epoxy glues can be very pale yellow, but this one isn't. The drawback is in the size of the tubes, very small, but for a 2-part epoxy glue this isn't unheard of. It does an awesome job as epoxy glue, too.

I do wonder though why so many wonderful resin crafters don't use Little Windows resin? I've been using it for over a year and I cannot imagine ever using a different kind. It does not have toxic fumes, or even much of a smell at all, really. I've used some after it sat for practically a year and it stayed clear and bright as ever. It's just such an easy and beautiful product without all the harsh smells. I'd rather not have to wear a mask and gloves or have a fan going with the window open while working.

Very good video. I am having a problem with my resin staying sticky on pendants that I made. What can I do to make it harden?

I would recomand sophieandtoffe uv resin, it is alredy mixed :D And its Uv resin, so it cures in 2 min with a uv lamp :) 60g costs 17.42 dollar and 100g costs 30.71 dollar :) They also have metalic liner so you can draw your own resin charms :D

Thank you for the video. Great tips! I do have a question. You mentioned that if your hardener is turning yellow your pieces will also turn yellow. What about if you create your pieces with good resin, eventually will they turn yellow? Thank you...sorry if it's a very elementary question.

Can you make a video explaining Uv resin , and maybe do one with the differences in using uv versus epoxy resin?

if you leave “yellowed” resin in sunlight for a few days/weeks, will it bleach out to clear again? i ask because you can do this with oil paint

I liked your hacks but the reason they tell you not mix paint with resin is because it messes with the formula. It may be cured on the outside but probably not fully on the inside. Just use resin pigments. They aren't very expensive and they last a long time.
