9:24 Used to love the Hero Sandwich series. Good character stuff and some nice humor too.
Giffen's March Hare was cool, but never had a second issue.

Legend of Mother Sarah is great. As far as I know only the first 3 series were translated into English but maybe some non-English European languages.
Jealous of the Icon Devil finds- I know I can order them online but it's always fun hunting IRL. Have been keeping an eye out for them since 90 or 91, when my folks gave a young me some money to spend at a remote corner store and I picked up no.1 (of the different volume than u guys have here). The stoned corner store worker shouldn't have sold it to 10-yo me but eternally grateful he did, helped fuel lifelong hunger for weird stuff like that.

Mother Sarah has been published in French, so maybe I should kick my own ass and go read it !

Whatt -- a comic from Topeka?? I think I found the guy from Night Masters on twitter and he's now in the DFW area, what a loss for my hometown
I found Mother Sarah on a scanlation site awhile back -- there's something like 14 volumes, would love to be able to read more of that

Heroes from Wordsmith is a apparently a comic featuring the pulp character stories written by the fictional the writer from the comic book Wordsmith by Renegade Press. Kind of an interesting idea, but odd that it is done by a different independent publisher. They must have got a license from Renegade I guess. Wordsmith is an interesting book--can't remember if you've ever covered that one.

I love the quarter bin finds! I use to live in Seattle and Nashville and remember buying an onslaught of variety in these pulp treasures. Great video, guys.

Lots of cool stuff. The list of the books I want is constantly growing. It sucks that it's so hard to get all that stuff here in Europe. I can find most of it on-line, but it's definitely not 20c. It probably would be cheaper to just fly to the US, raid a couple shops and come back with as many comics as possible. I really hope that the new Otomo collection will have those Mother Sarah stories. I have some of the Japanese books (it's rare even there, rarely reprinted I guess) and they are pretty cool.

I really like Jay Disbrow. I got into his stuff while I was working at IDW. Yoe Books did a book about him - Jay Disbrow's Monster Invasion

sweet deal on the THB! Loved Icon Devil when it was coming out - would love to see it finished.
Ken Pierce was the person behind the Spirit Dailies books (I believe)

Tim Eldred did a ton of stuff at Eternity in the 80s and 90s, one of their stable of manga-style creators. Probably best known for the Captain Harlock comics, he also did some Robotech, and after Eternity folded he did Star Blazers strips for their official magazine.comic hybrid thing.

That Giffen comic looks interesting, hadn't seen that. Looks to be during his Jose Munoz influenced period - same style as the strip he did in the first Taboo. He got in a bit of hot water at the time for the similarities - says he never directly swiped or traced but absorbed so much of Munoz's art that he started "turning into a Xerox machine".

Hey, Modesto is my area. I have a couple local pieces, but I haven't seen this one. I have one from the same era from Turlock, right down the road from Modesto. There was a bit of a local boom in that era it seems.

You made a brief mention of it; might you ever do a little coverage of Jack Katz's First Kingdom? It's one of the three books usually cited in the beginnings of Indy black & white comics and to me is exceptional, intense work, bordering on outsider art.

I would love to know more about Chas Berlin and that Helyun comic you guys had there, published by Caliber ('round minute 7:50). The style he had then was very intense, and very appealing.

THB in the quarter boxes? Shut the door! I have these but alas a basement flood left them in bad shape.

THB's for 0.20 is insane. I got Universe So Big from Brandon with a sketch at S.P.A.C.E. back when it was a new release. I read his comics October Yen a million times back then. His lines are so expressive. Always a huge fan.

Can anyone settle a pronunciation issue for me? I grew up pronouncing Vaughn Bode's name as Bo-day (assuming the accent over the letter e was a French accent aigu). But the Beastie Boys pronounce it Bo-Dee on Sure Shot (I believe...definitely on one of the tracks from Ill Communication). And I have seen the name printed on occasion with a macron over the e, which would suggest the B-boys have it right. I see Ed pronounces it Bo-day, which is my preference and tendency. You guys talk comics all the time with many other comic folk...Is there a consensus?

I've got some Go Man stuff, I really can't tell if the art has been squished or not, some of the vertical panels seem real off. Does anyone know if that intentional or just some weird printing shit?
