- Outdoor Kitchen/Part 17/Special Hinges : Cabinets could need different types of hinges based on where the door connects to the carcass and how much the door needs to swivel. Building on part 9 of this video series that covered the basic BLUM 110 degree, full Overlay, soft close hinge (part no. 71B3550) for frameless cabinets, I cover the installation of two more special hinges in this post:
1. BLUM 79B9980 95 degree blind corner full overlay hinge for frameless cabinets
2. Aximat 270 degree swing full overlay hinge for frameless cabinets
Assuming all European hinges require a 35 mm cup, I show how there are only 3 aspects where hinges can differ: the boring distance, the cup depth and edge-to-hinge plate distance.

Excellent video! This is exactly what I needed to know and you explained it perfectly. Thank you!
Hey, nice video. I got a question! Do you think I could use these Blum blind corner hinges for an application where the cabinet overlay (where hinge clip is) is flush with the door by adding a block at the back - just another layer of thickness. Does that make sense? Would there be enough clearance to open. Basically I have full overlay lift open doors with a valance at the top that should be flush with the door. So I need hinges that are on the same plane as and attach to the valence. Hinges that are flat when closed and folded when open.
Sorry i missed this comment, I would say try it out on a scrap. I cant quite picture what you are trying to do I am sorry.
