Hello! Here late but struggling to put up my own boaxel shelving unit and very much a newbie to any kind of construction/home diy/'shop' work. What nails did you use?
Looks awesome! I am about to hang my first boaxel system. Do you have any concerns about not screwing into a stud and just using plugs or has it held up well? Thanks!!
The anchors work very well and have held up. If you plan on using the shelves to store extremely heavy items it wouldn't hurt to drill holes in the metal vertical bar at the top to ensure it lines up with the studs.
This was very informative. I have one nagging question though and I’ve spent hours trying to find it on the web: what distance are the increments between the notches for the shelves? From what I can work out from comparing pictures it’s between 9 and 11 cm. Could you confirm?
It depends on how much weight the shelves are going to hold. You can either use drywall anchors, or if you need more support, you can drill a pilot hole through the horizontal suspension rail and then screw it directly into the stud.
@@TheOrganizationStation I ended up screw some in with anchors and nails into the studs. For the other room, since it was all drywall, I used specific anchors that should hold up to 100lbs into the drywall, it worked ok.

Good questions. I just ran out to the garage to measure. The notches are 2" apart (approx. 5 cm.)

I only have width of 20 inch with the window framing obstructing. Is it possible to hack Boaxel? It's a little too wide!
I would not. The shelves and drawers that go with the system are specific to the two widths that they sell them in.
What type of screws did you use?
I believe 1.25" Screws

Hi :-) What is boaxel max shelf weight capacity?
I'm not sure what the exact capacity is, however, we have them in our garage holding heavy tools and it has not been an issue.
If you use the planning tool is says 32kg/shelf.
