Hey guys! Welcome to this first playthrough of Life is Strange I've wanted to play this for SO LONG and so many of you have requested it over the years!! As is tradition, this video has been copyright claimed and from the sounds of talking to other creators the whole series might be. If you want to support the series & enjoy it, please check out Patreon as I'm going to be using this lots more and providing early access to the videos! www.patreon.com/emmalition/
Friendly reminder when you rewind time you erase conversations and actions as well. When you rewinded you erased your conversation with poor Kate Marsh. Make sure you dont do mistakes such as missing conversations or you will have extreme consequences
Yeah, Emma, this is really a game that the more you put into it the more you will get. Definitely interact with everything and talk to everyone. You missed your introductions to a few characters. They might be "B" characters, but getting to know them is what will make Arcadia Bay and Blackwell Academy seem like a real lived in place
As you realized at the end, look at everything you can. Many times you need to be in a certain area for the highlight to come up so it helps to walk all around a room. Gathering all the knowledge you can is a big help in the game. Also, yeah, the game is definitely not your friend with the copyrighted music but it's really part of the games overall atmosphere. Anyways, enough from me - hope you enjoy the game, Emma!
I know you don't mean to be speedrunning this. You're speedrunning this. Life Is Strange is a novella. It pays out emotionally to the level you put in. When you play this again (you will; an addict recognizes his own. ;-) ) be fearless in poking your nose *everywhere*, read EVERYTHING (bulletin boards, balled-up wads of paper thrown at classmates, post-it notes) and talk to EVERYONE. "LOOK" first. ALWAYS. Gaining Max's insights into a person or thing before engaging yields *treasure*. But realize that this entire franchise is built of SAD, from which its beauty chiefly comes. As Bruce Wayne will always have a toe in *that alley* a piece of my heart will always rest in Arcadia Bay. No regrets.
bro obstacles from this game and the right way around from bts 😭😭😭 then idk if it has a name but the song that plays when daniel and sean are on the bus in ep 1 of lis2 😭😭
it's nice to you read the journal in the begging of the episode since you don't really know where will the ep end, and you can only read while playing, not in the menu, and yes we will enjoy you reading because is part of the game
This game is so dear to my heart, guess im an angsty teen girl on the inside, glad to see you playing it. The game DESTROYS me everytime i play it, but i keep going back for some reason.
Wow, first time playthroughs of this game are always so much fun! I'll be watching The journal helps you to get more of a feel for Max's personality, other people in Arcadia Bay and useful background info. However, it's pretty extensive. If you do plan on reading the journal, do it regularly because it's very easy to get way behind
I love how this game combines dark secrets and trauma with *chill vibes* Thanks Emma for playing this! I am not patient enough for story driven games so I really enjoy watching you play!
A note on the game mechanic: When you have a big choice (like staying hidden in the closet or stepping in), the game will prompt you before you leave the area. That's your warning that you can still rewind and re-do that action if you're not sure that's the choice your want. Once you leave the area, the decision is locked in.
I've probably played it five or six times myself, and watched countless reactions to it. There are some things you don't notice unless you watch a lot of playthroughs. Like the dialog choices can really affect how people feel about various characters. Like, I absolutely hate Warren. I took an immediate dislike to him from the first conversation, and the more I play, the less and less I liked him. Had I chose different options, would I feel differently about him?
Not to be dramatic but life is strange and life is strange before the storm both changed my life. They’re so wonderfully made and realistic to how school / teenage years are here in America. I’ve cried many times during each game
I'm not sure, if you know this, but you're supposed to actually explore the environments and interact with everything you can, to find out more about places, characters and events. That's how half the story is being told in this game. It's definitely not the right way to just following the given objectives as directly as possible.
1. Life is strange 2. Life is strange before the storm (a little prequel) 3. Captain Spirit (the introduction to LS2) 4. Life is strange 2 5. Life is strange 3 True colors Un case you wondered
Sooooo excited because this game is amazing and such a vibe! Please please please take it slow and interact with eveything because it helps build the characters and world so much. There was a lot that you missed just in this one episode. Can’t wait to see the rest!
Agreed. She definitely speedran this first episode. Missed about 50% of the content. Hope she takes it a bit slower in the coming episodes, so that she gets the prober rewards from the game, as well as giving herself a better foundation to make the best decisions. Information is key.
You should take time to look at stuff and read stuff. One thing I love about ALL the Life is Strange games is that they encourage you to slow down and luxuriate in the details of the game.
I'm excited to go on this journey of _Life is Strange_ again. I'm happy you're entering this world completely blind. I don't know how to accurately describe it, but the choice of art style & color tones has a nostalgic feel and warmth of a good friend memories. Your'e already appreciating the soundtrack, story, aesthetic, vibe, commentary, characters, and emotionally invested. You're the perfect person for this 💜
This game is a hidden gem 💎 in the gaming industry. I remember randomly downloading this game from the PlayStation store because I was bored and looking for other free games to play back in like 2016/2017 I think it was. And wow I absolutely loved it, one of my favorite games ever, and I had never even heard of it. Sacrificing Chloe is by far the best ending imo, has more impact and makes it worth while.
Let’s gooo, Emma! I can’t wait for this series. As someone else said, the more you put into this game, the more you get back. Taking your time and interacting with everything will truly enhance the experience you get. Keep it going!
watching you play this precious game made me smile. i feel like alot of younger people will cringe at this type of game cuz its like whiny angsty "tumblr"girl. but i played this game as an adult in my mid 20's and i absolutely loved it. it reminds me so much of that cozy vibe of twin peaks and i got fairly attached to several of the characters especially Max. i usually dont have much patience for "walking" simulators but this game holds a special place for me.
22:30 i love how everyone forgets Kate was there the first time they play, ignoring her has catastrophic consequences, but the first time we take a lot of things for granted. I love this game
and you can also read the infos about the characters 8:12 it's important to know a little bit of them and we will enjoy, life is strange you don't have to but it's much more enjoyable to read all theses stuff, don't rush
15:08 The song is called "to all of you" by Syd Matters, from the first moment I heard it in the video game, I loved the song and now I listen to it as a regular song
This game and it’s indie soundtrack just takes me back to when I was just finishing senior year in high school and here I am years later alway get so emotional whenever I see the game and hear the music in it knowing those years are long gone and just can’t believe it’s been that long since the game came out
unfortunate how little you looked around but its okay because that means the replay will just be better than the first playthrough! i hope the next video has more looking around
I'm very happy to see playing this game! And I love you emma, but it does kinda hurt watching you miss so many things and rushing towards your "objective" withiout looking around lol. and please read the journal. looking forward to the next video
Blackwell Academy appears to be a private prep school, basically a venue for rich kids to go to private high school and get a free foot in the door for top colleges. A lot of these take in ‘underprivileged’ students with scholarships, which is what Max appears to be. If that answers her question around 30:35
YAYYYY i’m SO glad you’re playing this! and the original, too! ❤❤ + i really appreciate you not turning off the music, it adds so much to these games. hope you enjoy!
I never clicked a video so fast, The Walking Dead was my first game ever and therefore nostalgic but Life is Strange has been my hyperfixation since the very first episode came out, I love all the games This game will change your life, this action will have consequences 🌀🦋
This game is American culture as seen through the eyes of the French 😂 It’s very exaggerated and the slang is used so inappropriately, but it’s all the more endearing for it, lol! Super excited for you to experience it!
Oh wow I’m here early. You’re in for a wild ride! I played this years ago and I didn’t have any idea of what the game entailed and I missed a lot. Like others have mentioned take your time and explore extensively it really helps build up the characters and enriches the story.
YESSSSS OH MY GOOOOOD! i am SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW!!!!! i will say, you missed quite a lot in this episode because you were so deadset on your main objectives. if you take your time and interact with everything, it'll shape up your game better. it's a bit like TWD in that regard, but even more so. it's easy to miss a lot, just like the interaction with alyssa at 56:14
Does she actually take her time in later episodes? Because if she doesn’t i’m not sure i can watch the rest. Its so important to explore in this game and not rush!

Friendly reminder when you rewind time you erase conversations and actions as well. When you rewinded you erased your conversation with poor Kate Marsh. Make sure you dont do mistakes such as missing conversations or you will have extreme consequences
I can never understand people that don't have the patience to listen to the full dialogue. Like they clicked on something to hear their main characters thoughts about it, but then they don't have the patience to hear the thoughts about it so why did they click on it in the first first place if they didn't want to hear it? I'm so confused. This is just the type of game where the character's thoughts are not just one small sentence. But that's unique and special about this game.
Before the Storm is my favorite, too. I'm probably the only person who really liked the post-credits scene. Maybe 'like' isn't the right word, but I'm probably getting dangerously close to spoilers, so I'll leave it at that
I like the way you explain and react to the game Life is strange in detail, because some people don't really care about the other characters in the game. You have new subscribers now!
you should play life is strange before the storm because watching chloe remind max of how much she ignored her re minds me of the text messages shown in the game P.S lis 2 is pretty great too
I just realized how cringe Victoria's friends throwing a paper ball at her was. Like, imagine. "Hur hur hur, it'd be so funny to throw this at her! She looked at us! Eeh hee hee! We're so clever!" Like, genuinely laughable how they thought they ate with that. I'm starting to understand DinoBunny.
Blackwell is a boarding school just for high school seniors (aka 17-18 years old, last year before uni). I’ve never seen anything like that here in the US so I wouldn’t associate it with the American school system.
I subscribed as soon as she laughed at Kate getting bullied. 🤣 That laugh is going to have a butterfly effect for later episodes. 😝 When she said “Come on, brah” before the “Shaka brah” moment I knew I’d made the right choice subscribing.
Man... You chose an AMAZING time to pick up this game! I bought this game back in 2015 and I only decided to play it back in 2021. I'm here for the wild ride!
People wonder if video games can be art, and this game is the answer that yes they are. There are parts of this game where I had to take a break because it was so intense.
Im Subscribing! just because you are playing one of the best story game with the best visual, drama, and musicality. I've been obsessed with this game ever since it came out
I know it's been a month already but I appreciate how you noticed Chloe is more than a little troubled. A lot of players/fans tend to side with Chloe because they like her, not realizing how she's got some serious emotional issues that have been left to fester since her dad died. So she clings to any person who has trouble telling her no and immediately rejects anyone with a backbone because she's scared to death of facing her grief and loss.
The tribes who welcomed the first...settlers...and found a mutual... symbiosis? That doesn't exactly sound right. I'm neither American nor well versed in early American history, but King Philip's War comes to mind
Love this game. 10 years ago I bought this game on a whim because I was bored of whatever I was playing at the time. No spoilers but you will ball your eyes out.
You know, I just realized that max said that the Prescotts own Blackwell NOW. Did they know that Nathan would get into trouble, and take precautions to prevent expulsion?
My fiance and I really enjoy all your series and we're excited for this one! Thanks for all the fun with the souls games, hollow knight, elden ring, it's been a blast and will continue being one! Too bad about copyright but this game rocks 🪨. All the best from sunny Canada.
you can spend as much time as you'd like exploring the environment and snooping around, btw, it's actually beneficial if you want to get more lore and information. hope you enjoy the game :')
Oh boy…. This is going to be quite the series! Very glad to see you playing this one! It was a bit hard for me to get into in Episode 1, to be honest. But wow… what a game. The only game or media to upset me so much that I felt physically sick. So… enjoy! 🤣 And yeah, that title screen music hits hard.

“I would grass on Nathan so fast” immediately chooses to grass on Nathan as soon as the option pop up. That’s someone committed to their word
I think there's a slight delay between the game and Emma. ;)
Thank you I really am
Yeah, Emma, this is really a game that the more you put into it the more you will get. Definitely interact with everything and talk to everyone. You missed your introductions to a few characters. I’ll have a sit down with it !
@@Emmalition cool Emma looking forward to watching you play more life is strange series 😊

One of my favourite game franchises! Loved your 1st part!😆
People wonder if video games can be art, and this game is the answer that yes they are. There are parts of this game where I had to take a break because it was so intense.
Im Subscribing! just because you are playing one of the best story game with the best visual, drama, and musicality. I've been obsessed with this game ever since it came out
so much fun watching this again - it's been a long time :)
i always love watching a new LiS playthrough 😄
The game is a classic. Sure, there are some cringey words in dialogue, such words like 'amazeballs' and 'wowzer' but a very good choice
Such an amazing game, I'm looking forward to this.
I was waiting for a new The Walking Dead video but I'm equally happy to have a Life Is Strange video 💫
My fiance and I really enjoy all your series and we're excited for this one! Thanks for all the fun with the souls games, hollow knight, elden ring, it's been a blast and will continue being one! Too bad about copyright but this game rocks 🪨. All the best from sunny Canada.
Looking forward to the rest of the playthrough 👍
you can spend as much time as you'd like exploring the environment and snooping around, btw, it's actually beneficial if you want to get more lore and information. hope you enjoy the game :')
after watching this and the Before the Storm playthrough twice, im dying by "will this game make me cry?"😂
This was very enjoyable i hope you continue playing 💙😊
Came from your bloodborne series and I just have to say I love your attitude and vibe! Hope you go far :))
SOOOO Happy you're doing lis!
Oh boy…. This is going to be quite the series! Very glad to see you playing this one! It was a bit hard for me to get into in Episode 1, to be honest. But wow… what a game. The only game or media to upset me so much that I felt physically sick. So… enjoy! 🤣
And yeah, that title screen music hits hard.
Oh this game is good GOOD!!. I'm so happy to see you going after another great story right after TWD
