This version of Jak & Daxter The Precursors Legacy does look sharper than the original PS4 release and has better texture filtering and does feel more smoother and emulates more accurately. Something just felt slightly off with the original release.

I really hope the PS3 version can be emulated and the punch glitch is fixed. That would be the definitive experience, although the PS3 has no night and day cycle for Jak 1 I think

Switch to the PAL version. It's also 60hz. One of the few games that was in PAL regions. Has less bugs also. All the Jak games had a 60hz mode in the PAL release.

Thank god for this Ps5 version. I tried playing the Ps4 version, but the camera was messed up and I couldn't figure out how to fix it, if its even possible.
I think they patched in a button combo you do to change the camera movement. It's better to just wait for the new versions of the Jak games though as they'll emulate and look better.
@Darisuke Yeah! It's obviously gonna happen. Jak X also. The emulation is much better. I hope they add the new versions of Ape Escape 2, Manhunt, The Warriors, Primal as they have emulation issues on PS5.
For the 12 jumps trophy you can also do uppercuts which don't count at all for jumps, also do you plan on doing the new ps4 stack too for Jak 1 or only the ps5 stack?
@Djexxieflexie old ps4 version was years ago, but this new version has a ps4 and ps5 that is distinctly different from the old stack, with the new trophy list mentioned in Cynical's video...it seems all new games with this emulator (Daxter, Lost Frontier, Sly 1, and now Sly 2, Sly 3, and Jak 1) all come with a PS4 and PS5 stack so I'd expect any further redone games to do this (like Jak 2 and 3 and X)
Good thing the power cell theme is a banger or it would be ANNOYING to listen to all the time, same for the precursor orb sound effect. Spider Caves may be the worst but that's not saying much as all the levels are bangers; it's the worst once you know what you're doing, if you don't know what your doing the Snowy Mountain or Lost Precursor City are the worst, arguably Precursor Basin, too.
See this is an example of a re-release of a game for people to play with little to no incentive to actually do so. Don't get me wrong, I personally love the Jak and Daxter series and it is certainly one that I would like to see a resurgence from, but bringing the earlier games forward through emulation and adding a new trophy list really isn't much of a reason for people to play these games and even less so if you were someone that owned a PS2 or PS3. I generally tend to think of myself as someone who is opposed to Nintendo's view on not having a trophy or achievement system of SOME kind on their console, but this is an example of game developers taking that concept too far. I don't believe I personally still have my PlayStation 2 copy of this game, but I know that I distinctly have this game on the Jak and Daxter collection on my PS3 and I do have the platinum trophy for this game. I don't think I would never go back to this game just to play it for fun, but that 1 platinum trophy for my collection is all I need to feel satisfied. I'm happy for everyone who has a PlayStation 5 now so that they can experience this classic from many years ago, but an updated trophy list just for the sake of having another platinum for your collection feels a bit redundant and unnecessary
That's you, I personally got the plat twice and will get it a third time with the ps5 version. In fact it did the exact opposite you just thought it did. It got two buddies of mine to start the series especially after I told them the studio behind crash, uncharted and last of us made it. Jak and Daxter is a classic so anyone gamer that wants to dive into playstation history should play it and this is a great way to start. And the new trophies are specifically for older fans like me that love the game and want the challenge. I understand you though. Your point of view of replaying a old classic like Jak is how I view with how people go back and play last of us part 2 for the horde mode that was added some time after release. I personally saw it pointless.
@NewOldie Personally, my hope with a this re-release is that it would spark a new entry in the Jak and Daxter franchise because to me the last REAL installment in the franchise was Jak 3. Jak X Combat Racing is a pretty awesome game, but still a Twisted Metal rip-off, Daxter takes place during the events of Jak II, and I think everyone completely writes off Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier as a joke. I know the hope is that the original developers will go back and make Jak 4, but at this point I don't think they would be the developers that would do it and I honestly don't know that I would trust Naughty Dog to do it at this point anyway. I've never been a huge Neil Druckmann fan and for that reason, I don't think I would trust him making a new Jak and Daxter game. I think it would be smarter for Sony to give the IP to a different developer and let them work on it and the same thing goes for Sly Cooper despite me actually thinking that Sucker Punch is a decent developer. I just think Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch are way too busy at this point as well

@@rinzlur-k6m For one thing, you have to remember that Andy Gavin and Jason Reuben are no longer at Naughty Dog and it was the 2 of them that created both the Crash Bandicoot and the Jak and Daxter franchises. Secondly, I think that it came out at some point where Naughty Dog claimed that they attempted to split their studio into different teams, but things just didn't seem to work out when they did that, so they gave up on the idea of doing it. However, like I said, I don't think I would want Naughty Dog making a new Jak and Daxter game at this point. If you've ever watched the Naughty Dog VS and Insomniac Game series by an old TH-camr known as Gexup, I highly recommend you type that and on TH-cam and listen to that series as I tend to share a lot of the same ideas that are in those videos. Insomniac tends to make the more fun game series especially by comparison to a lot of the games that Naughty Dog does has madea nd in more recent memory, the quality of Naughty Dog as a game studio has significantly diminished. The same can actually be said about Insomniac to a certain extent, but they have at least put out games in more recent years whereas Naughty Dog seems to have fallen off the face of the Earth. If you go watch the aforementioned series that I brought to your attention, you'll see what I mean

As much as I love Jak and Daxter, I think it ended perfectly and should be left in peace. A spiritual successor is more of what I want to see.
